Former Secretary of State Colin Powellon Sunday became the latest member of the Republican Party’s old guard to announce that he will not be voting for President Trump in November’s general election.
Powell’s admission comes amid rumors and speculation that a number of establishment Republican heavyweights have sworn off voting for Trump in favor of Democratic presidential nominee and former Vice President Joe Biden. The New York Times reported former President George W. Bush – under whom Powell served as secretary of state – and frequent Trump critic, Sen. Mitt Romney of Utah, will not be voting for the current Oval Office occupant come November.
“I certainly cannot, in any way, support President Trump this year,” Powell said Sunday on CNN’s “State of the Union.” “We have a Constitution and we have to follow that Constitution and the president has drifted away from it.”
Powell instead made clear that when he heads to the ballot box this fall he will be casting his vote for Biden.

Ok. This is where you and mcrrap lose reality on that tangent ride you two seem to bound for. Good and evil exists everywhere even in government. And the reference that an evil exists it has always existed. Conspiracy theories have nothing to do with opinions. It is a systems that are used not much unlike a secret combination the lds folks speak of. The problem is there are too many variables in the equation this isn't 2+2 4 is too hard a number to create a true secret work....

Amazing that an honorable man like Powell will vote for a man with dementia. Powell does not deserve to have me write his 1st name and rank. Just another globalist trying to destroy the United States of America.
Has Powell began to orchestrate the elimination of all police forces across America?

CNN had an interview with him today, watch the interview and those of others from the same complex who are saying the same things. Powell is not voting for Biden, he is voting against Trump. Same goes for all of them....Trump is a divider, he is an amoral selfish individual who happens to be president due to the GOP out-foxing the DNC. The leader of the country needs to be a person of higher moral fiber and someone who can be strong during difficult times, look to bring people together and set an example of how groups of people that are politically divided can come together and think of more than their voting base and what the media thinks of them...think of society as a WHOLE. Trump has never done that and is incapable of showing true compassion and believable sincerity that does not have some political or personal agenda attached.

Yep. Or the fact that he voted for Obama and Hillary. Was there ever any inkling that he would vote for Trump? No surprise here.

Saw an article the other day basically disputing this on all levels. He has for sure united the hardcore Left against him. He also united the Right at times. For example, only Romney voted against him. You can make the case as unemployment had gotten so low he was bringing in more of the minority vote/support.
As the article said — we were divided before Trump and we will be divided after him.
When folks throw this term ‘divider’ around I don’t think they use it the way they intend to. For example, that assumes that previous presidents or candidates were ‘uniters’ and not ‘dividers’ — they were not. Obama certainly did not unite. Hillary did not unite — and would not have as a president.
As a candidate you have to ‘unite’ enough of the electorate — especially so called independents — in the key areas to get elected. No one can dispute that Trump obviously did this.
For this tag to be substantiated, one has to prove with examples, what he has done that is any worse than other presidents in the past to divide. AND you have to list reasonable things he should do to ‘unite’ that do not undermine his intended goals and platform he ran on. If he waffles too much then he will divide — he will divide his base, and independents that came over to him, AND he will for sure lose the election.
He should continue to do what he has done so far and he will unite the Right, including the anti-Trumpers. He will also unite some of the reasonable Left as they see their lot getting better in life.
The unreasonable Left? Nothing he could do would ever ‘unite’ them, period.
This is simply a tag the Left and Media use to further divide the country. They will never give Trump any credit — that might ‘unite’ the country.

Biden's confusion is preferable to Trump's corruption and incompetence. A leader is only as strong as the team around him. But in Trump's corrupt organization, blind loyalty is more important than skill and experience. He ignores experts and makes bad policies. The worst leader pretends to know everything but actually knows nothing. No doubt Biden's teamwork would be superior. Under Trump, US has become poorer, sicker and weaker.
Defunding of police doesn't necessarily mean disbanding of police. Cities determine whether more money is spend on community services to improve public safety. That is, schools, hospitals, housing and food. Alternatives include social services for drug addiction, homelessness and domestic violence. In some situations, first responder should be a social worker instead of a police officer. In 2017 study, New York found less police lead to less crime.

So many of the cities (and states) are going the way of the Feds. Tell the people whatever they want to hear for the sake of getting elected. The Truth, or what is probable, or what is possible, has nothing to do with it. I still feel feel as much contempt for the full belly, full bank account voter as I do for the clowns they elect. jmho
Now and then even a BLIND squirrel can find an acorn

You simply make some of the dumbest comments. But you are consistent. Defund or disband police cannot be reasoned away by "we hate Trump theory." Who you goin to call when being confronted by a criminal? A social worker? You cannot make a more
stupid comment. Wait I'm wrong. you definitely can. Dumb ass shit spew.
