In Michigan you are asked for ID when you go to the polls. If you say, "Oh shucks, I forgot my ID", no problem just sign here and we trust you say you are who you say you are.
So if you neighbor died or moved out of state, or maybe a family member died, if they were registered to vote and are on the voting list at the polls you could use the above and cast more ballots, absentee too.
To help that, the Secretary of the State of Michigan put out a memo saying to clerks at the polls; you still must check signatures but do so with the idea the signature is valid and only if there are more points of the signature that are not right vs those that are right should you disqualify the ballot. This violated state law, was taken to court, and this memo was thrown out in March, judge said it was illegal, a little late.
The problem is; #1 it's government, since when can they do things right. #2 voting registers are not maintained as they should be. Folks that die or move out of state should be promptly removed. Their not. I left this state for ten years, returned, and my registration still on the books! Someone could have voted with my name during those ten years.
The state of Washington appears to have their act together. They have mail-in voting and they say their register is ALWAYS up to date. Seem pretty proud of it too. The Wash. Sec of State, Kim Wyman warns the rest of the U.S, it's very HARD and COMPLICATED, but can be done. It took them years to get there.

Me personally, wouldn't have a problem with a proper run system, be it mail-in, or even internet for that matter. BUT YOU NEED SAFEGUARDS!!
Now with all the outright lies about Georgia's law, corporations OBVIOUSLY being pushed to get involved, I don't trust a damn thing Dems purpose and so are MILLIONS OF OTHERS.
STOP THE LIES.
FIX THE PROBLEMS.
