WASHINGTON – A group of House lawmakers is criticizing Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., for comparing the human rights records of the United States and Israel with Hamas and the Taliban — a rare public rebuke against a fellow Democrat.

"Equating the United States and Israel to Hamas and the Taliban is as offensive as it is misguided," Illinois Rep. Brad Schneider and 11 other Democrats wrote in a joint statement issued late Wednesday. "Ignoring the differences between democracies governed by the rule of law and contemptible organizations that engage in terrorism at best discredits one’s intended argument and at worst reflects deep-seated prejudice."

Bitcoin tanked on Monday as China escalated its crackdown on cryptocurrency by further curbing mining activity and telling major payments platforms and lenders that crypto trading won’t be tolerated.

Bitcoin plunged some 9% over the last day to trade at around $32,700 per coin, a two-week low, according to Coindesk. Prices stabilized a bit on Tuesday, but the cryptocurrency has still lost roughly half its value since it hit an all-time high in April.

Other cryptos were also caught up in Monday’s big sell-off: Ethereum fell about 14% while Dogecoin dived as much as 41%, erasing all of its gains since April.

However, Carlson, who has a history of pushing conspiracy theories,
