Whaaaaaa?

  • Trump’s showing in the poll is stronger than in other recent surveys in the Sunshine State; Clinton had an advantage of 3.1 points in the RealClearPolitics Florida average on Tuesday
  • While Trump currently doesn’t have a path to the 270 electoral votes needed to win the presidency, or even to 265 votes, “he’s not deteriorated as badly in the battleground states” as in national polls, Bloomberg Politics’ Mark Halperin said on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe”



    • Can he really win Florida? A heavily Hispanic state and one Obama won twice???

    Alright Bloomberg has Trump up 2 in Florida. That's why. But wow. Pretty sick jump for trump.

    I put out a few scenarios in the general discussion thread on how Trump possibly gets to 269....notice I did not say 270. It is going to take something to get to 270. 

    The worrisome number for the HRC camp should be the Pennsylvania polling data....only ahead near the margin of error. 

    If PA flips, she is very vulnerable. Also, the turnout in early voting is reported as being record setting. Who knows what side is getting the lionshare of the action, but I would say that large turnouts are a good sign for the change candidate.

    She's going to win Pennsylvania Vern. I am 100% confident tin that. Last I checked she was -900 in Penn. That state is done.

    It certainly looks that way. From my perspective, the urban areas of Pitt and Philly will carry the state over any gains Trump can make in rural areas. I am not lining up to take Trump at + odds to win PA.

    However, to play devil's advocate, take a look at the margin of victory by Obama in 2008, 2012 and HRC's current polling numbers in PA:

    Obama by a 10% margin in 2008, 5% margin in 2012 and HRC is currently at a 5% polling advantage. Even Obama saw 1/2 the support in 2012......Are we to believe that HRC is going to hold serve in PA with the same numbers that Obama put up in 2012?

    I highly doubt that democrat turnout will enable her to do that.....I look for a dwindling margin, more likely in the 1-3% range. IF lightning strikes here, then the race becomes wide open.

    So, you have a tight one in PA. Does it likely go HRC? Yes. Is -900 a good bet. No.

    highly unlikely.  silver even commented on this.  FL has been one of the most consistent states from a polling standpoint.  FL is one of the most polled states, maybe the most, and clinton has been up 2-5 in almost every one.  pretty amazing.

    i'm not sure she does.  the most recent poll has her +4 in FL.  the one at the top of the list at 538 has her +3.  if you go down the list, that's where she's been forever.  she could lose FL but she's not losing FL right now by any aggregate measure.

    Tim Kaine was scheduled to be in Sarasota Friday, but the event has been cancelled...

    The event with Tim Kaine was scheduled for Friday at 6 p.m. at the Municipal Auditorium......no word why the event was cancelled..Hmmmm

    Maybe it's because the one he held in West Palm Beach, Florida a few days ago only drew a couple dozen people..

    Pennsylvania has the highest percentage of it's population living in a Rural designation. That ain't Hillary country.

    I cannot see Trump being able to overcome the urban areas in PA.....my wife's extended family live in rural PA, and they are all Trump, anti Clinton/Obama. Although that is the trend among landowners/taxpayers/small business operators, there simply isn't enough of them.

    The only way that PA swings Trump is if voters in the cities decide not to fight traffic and stay home. And, of course, if the Republicans actually monitor the polling stations and Diebold machines.

    PA will be hotly contested, but I would be surprised if the Clinton machine loses there. It will take a Trump landslide to win the state.

    If Trump wasn't such a crappy debater, when HRC made the crack about Trump buying steel from China to build his hotels, Trump should have responded by explaining the reason he does so is a direct result of the Clinton approved sh!tty trade deals.

    Clinton by and RCP of 1.2%....again, I go to the same rationale as used in the PA race...... Obama won by 2.8% in 2008, and a razor thin .9% in 2012...not a good trend for Democrats.

    I haven't pulled the trigger yet on Trump ML for FLA yet, but there is a real shot of Trump winning the state big.

    We don't have elections in this country.  Hillary was selected a long time ago - since June of 2015 that I know of, but probably much longer than that.  This has probably been planned for a decade.

    Justice is now being served on HRC.  The FBI has something rock solid on her or Comey wouldn't bring it up.  His guilt and the mutiny in the FBI finally forced him to do the correct thing
