Cannot imagine why anyone would vote for a Dem with all the police officers quitting or taking early retirement in New York. They made any law officer afraid to do the job and most would be crazy to risk upholding the law with the DA's they have.

There is no financial incentive for a 20 year veteran officer to stay on the force. With a pension of 50% your final salary for retirement, it's very attractive to many. And since they are relatively young (late 40's early 50's) it's a great opportunity to stay in some form of law enforcement or start a new career. Where else can you retire at that age with those benefits?
Couple that with the lack of respect given to our officers in streets with bail reform laws & the revolving door of criminals going through the system, who wants the job?
They are getting out while they have the opportunity to do so alive.
