Trump violated law by firing 17 inspectors general without 30 days notice to congress. He doesn't want independent watchdogs to investigate abuse, waste and misconduct in government. Dictators dismantle checks on power to pave way for rampant corruption. If he appoints loyalists, that would undermine entire system.
