In my opinion, and I like to think i'm pretty damn center of the aisle, it's wrong on so many levels. It's a huge waste of resources in the middle of a pandemic. It's a huge divider in a time when we need to rebuild unity. There's not enough to convict. I've read his speech many times. I've followed his rhetoric on Twitter fairly closely the past 4 years. I've never been a fan of it. It's extremely inflammatory and often quite misinformed but there's nothing in any of it that will convict him. You can lay it all out and try to establish a pattern but even when you read the transcript of the actual speech, he literally uses the word "peacefully". In the normal judicial system, if the DA knows they have no chance of convicting then they don't indict. They don't waste tax payer dollars but in the whimsical world of congress, where Trump and Pelosi/Schumer have been playing the dick measuring game for 4 years, I guess this move is par for the course.
