Sounded like completely out of the blue that Utah congressman and House Oversight chairman Jason Chaffetz was retiring after his term ended. He was pretty young and was in no danger of being defeated in election so didn't make much sense. Not unless you could read between the tea leafs and have a simmering that the 2018 midterms could indeed be a wave election for Democrats and there was no reason to stick around in a House minority with no power when he could spend the next 3 years prepping for a run at Governor.
With the results from the Kansas and Georgia special elections it seems like there is a liberal groundswell against Trump. Only question is how big is it and could it sustain itself? Not even with all the outside Hollywood cash and free media could Josh Ossoff win a district that Hillary only lost by 1 point. Democrats put all their eggs in the Ossoff bandwagon and have nothing to show for it.
As of right now with a President hated by half the country but a historically weak Democratic Party that has gotten crushed at the state, local and Congressional levels over the past 6 years, how does everyone see the midterms playing out? As of right now I see the House is a coin flip and Republicans have a massive advantage in keeping the Senate.

Actually it is a victory. There is a run off now. Price won that seat by 30 points. The democrat won the plurality and now faces one contender that received 1 in 5 votes . that district turns blue . well the writing is on the wall. Of you think for some reason Utah will turn blue and support the left. Smoke another and do not Bogart. Cause I need some of that fantasy kool aid at times as well.
