A minute later when Fox News asked who ? In response...Biden said I forgot who it was...
This would explain why Biden has missed two of his confirmed deadlines to announce his choice for VP....and why has he taken so long...He has a problem remembering who he picked..
The only other reason is because he's narrowed it down to a short list or contenders and they all came up with awful results in internal polls..
I think it's the latter. I think he narrowed it down to Harris or Rice and neither tests well.

Biden's campaign badly needs a shot of enthusiasm.. He needs to pick someone who excites the more progressive and younger wings of the Democratic Party... .Biden,made it clear earlier he'll choose a woman as his running mate,but not necessarily a minority (although Liz Warren would qualify 1/1,024% Native American) choosing a black woman would make history as the first black woman to be a presidential running mate..and would help energize and mobilize the black voting bloc..that gave him,,his primary victory..
Generally vice presidential candidates haven’t been shown to win an election but can distract. e.i. Geraldine Ferraro,Dan Quayle and Tim Kaine..

I think Maxine Waters speaks more for a specific type of black woman more than she speaks for the entirety of black America, or even for all black women.

Personally, I think Susan Rice would have been the better/safer choice for Uncle Joe. Rice seems to have an even keel temperament, compared to Harris, who always has a frown or angry look on her face, and speaks with anger. People might think this is superficial stuff, but I think style matters . The VP debate(s) are likely to do incredibly well in the ratings, but for the simple fact that most people know Uncle Joe's cognitive skills are long gone, and they will want to know who will occupy the White House . Being angry, mad, will not resonate with a large swath of the people. Kamala Harris =
