Democratic presidential primary debates begin this month...........with June 26-27 debates in Miami, hosted by NBC News, MSNBC and Telemundo...
To qualify the DNC is using the new grassroots qualifying rule, implemented by the DNC after the 2016
presidential primary in an effort to prioritize grassroots fundraising..
the Democratic National Committee is requiring that
candidates must earn at least 1% support in three separate national or
early-state polls conducted from Jan. 1 to two weeks before the given
debate, or receive donations from at least 65,000 people across 20
different states, with a minimum of 200 unique donors per state.. ...
The 20 candidates will be divided into two groups based on polling averages
and then randomly assigned to a debate stage ... to prevent the higher
polling candidates all appearing on the same night.
The DNC is also capping the number of debate participants at 20,,and with 21 candidates ...and with less than a week out from the qualification
deadline, on June 12, potentially leading to more qualifying candidates
entering the fold and then virtually ensuring that at least one
candidate will be cut from the debates.
I see Michael Bennet or Rep Seth Moulten ( who is criticizing Biden for his Iraq vote ) as the 21st candidate and odd man out..
