The strategy of the GOP flaming Obama on every chance they get supposedly trying to get Dems to change their vote and in the same breath flame all Dems/liberals/left etc. is just poor strategy because it results in it seemingly like partisan lip service rather then making legit points about Obama (which they may actually have)...
Romney being a moderate makes sense and I think that if the GOPs were to pick a far/extreme right VP candidate so invigorate their base would be a mistake... The more extreme part of the GOP base does not need any convincing beyond the fact that Obama is president and symbolically represents everything they are against...
I think the GOP need to pick another moderate (or at least not someone that can be portrayed as right winged extremist wacko) to go along with him that will get people that voted for Obama to switch...
This is where I think portman might actually be a better then rubio... getting people who voted for Obama to vote for the "rising star" in the GOP realm is not a good strategy...
