hope they do better than the armed guard at columbine, or the armed guards at virginia tech or all those trained armed soliders at fort hood.
Fort Hood was a gun free zone. Would think that someone like you would know that. Still waiting for all you Libs to stick "gun free" stickers on your houses..........................

The trained soliders attacked and killed by Major Nidal Hasan ( shouting "Allahu Akhbar') were unarmed.. The shootings that took place were in a gun free zone at Fort Hood ..
Those trained soliders were unable to carry weapons since the base was designated as a"gun-free" zone............ implemented by Democrats and the Clinton Administration in 1993....

why the darn would i know that? anyway, i think they have army police officers at these somewhat "gun free" zones so i don't think gun free really means gun free.
i'm not in favor of gun free zones but that nutjob nra nutjob who wants a gun in every school might want to look at columbine, VA tech and ft. hood as examples of how that won't help much, among many other reasons. with the kind of lunacy and lack of logic displayed by that nut, he has to be a rightwing republicans. what makes is a certainty is his fiscally liberal position of paying for an armed guard in every school.
no one likes to spedn taxpayer money on garbage we don't need like the "conservative" rightwingers spending on the stuff they like as long as they can call themselves conservative by cutting costs on garbage they don't like, you know, like mental health programs.

"how many armed guards per 100 yard area should we have for the bigger schools?"
The Sidwell Friends School in Washington, DC..where President Obama's daughters attend is a 71,270-square-foot facility and it has 12 armed security officers ...so do the math.

David Gregory's and President's children are in a safe environment because of armed officers roaming the hallways at their school. How can Gregory be outraged at the NRA? The eternal double standard of the Left shines brightly forever. I really do not know how people on the wacky Left live with themselves. Oh! That's right! The double standard!

Exactly. I'm thinking these decisions will have the opposite affect, challenging the crazies to a gun fight inside a school. They're starting a war with disturbed individuals crazy enough to come to school and take them on. Very bad solution, psychologically speaking.

However, security from what ? Which potential weapon in the hand(s) of an assailant is our primary concern ? A bomb, knife, chainsaw, broken bottle, shotgun ? Which can do the most destruction in proportion to its current availability / obtainability ?
Assault Weapons as casual armament for civilians =

life in prison or the death penalty won't strop these people from committing crimes; gun control laws won't stop crimoinals from getting guns, but rent a cop sitting in a chair in the cafeteria should do the trick. such is the logic of the rightwinger. (it's actually the bullshit nonsense of the gun manufacturers making a fortune but rightwingerws don't know the difference).

After there are no school shootings at a specific school for years, I wonder what position the 'cut salary' teabaggers will want to get rid of?

Again, the idea that those calling for "common sense gun legislation" care one bit about children being shot is silly & ridiculous.
From the article"
“We’ve made a collective decision as a town that we need armed security in each of our schools,” Mayor Jonathan Hornik told The Post."
Also from your article
“This isn’t a luxury item. This is a necessity, based on what we saw happen in Connecticut,” said Hornik, a Democrat who supports an assault-weapons ban and stricter gun control.

Well that may be true except for the fact that time and time again these mass shootings occur in gun free zones. These cowards, that are labled as mentally ill, underpriviledged, or other responsibility dodging pharases somehow always find a way to calculate their actions into a situation where they will meet little resistance.
