    53 is a great number for the Holiday Weekend 'total' of mayhem and death. I will go 'over' 53!

    Liberalism is a mental disorder! What more proof do you need? Biden, DeBlasio and Lightfoot! Just for this specific thread. They are the 3 bleeping stooges!

    The weekend tally for mayhem and violence in Chicago for this past weekend under the lunacy of Mayor Lightfoot. Make no mistake about it. Lightfoot is a luny tume! She even sleeps around on her husband. Where can I find honor in a Democratric leader? That is the question of the day! Somebody please let me know so I can get a good night's sleep!

    Only 99 shot during the Holiday weekend in Chicago!

    Become a donor and shell out cash as a bribe. Seems to be their way of doing business. They'll tell the peasants they care about them, but they only care about their donors who are lining their pockets for favors that will only hurt the peasants even more.

    That's true of both party though. The hustle is getting the sheep to bicker amongst themselves instead of paying attention to what's really going on in government and holding politicians accountable.

     Do you even think about this shit before you post? Fentanyl has been a problem for quite a while. The issue exploded under Trump. Why didn't he do anything, in four years? Why didn't he hold Chy-Na accountable? Do you think we weren't controlled by corporate interest and bankers under Trump? One of the first things he targeted once in office, maybe the first thing, was bank deregulation. Hell, look at the people he put in his cabinet. People like Betsy DeVos. Rex Tillerson.

    We do agree on some things. The black community had much stronger leadership literally from emancipation clear up into the 90's. That has fallen by the wayside. We need stronger leaders and more community involvement. I just said to my wife a few days ago that I can't believe Al Sharpton is still considered a leader of the black community. That's a problem. There is a disconnect in the community. Those like me who had positive influences and strong family backgrounds have simply assimilated. Some of those same people used said advantages to go college but instead of studying something worthwhile, they got bullshit liberal arts degrees and joined think-tanks and such. I digress. The black community should not feel beholden to the democratic party. Every individual should exercise their right to back whatever policy and politicians align with their core values. What you are missing is the fact that much how the democratic party exploits minorities, the republican party exploits poor caucasians. They don't even hide it well. They use the exact same tactics. And people but into it. The biggest hustle politicians have ever pulled is tricking the populace into bickering amongst themselves instead of paying attention to the moves being made and holding their representatives accountable. Minority democrats and poor white republicans vote against their own interest all of the time. They're brainwashed. Not every democratic policy is best for all democrats. Not every republican policy is best for all republicans. This is why I support policies not politicians.

    ...but I go back to the question posed above. Why didn't Trump do anything about the Chinese made fentanyl mercilessly killing Americans?

    So he was President, the Republican party had a Senate majority, but he didn't do anything but talk. Got it. How many business interest, how many Chinese dollars are the Trump family wrapped up in? Like I said, if you're pointing a finger at one side and not the other, you're just a lamb like any other.

     I'm not refuting any of that. All i'm saying is that both parties are complicit. And that the big hustle is getting rubes to bicker back and forth instead of actually paying attention to the machinations of government and holding politicians accountable. They've brainwashed people into choosing a side and vehemently defending it instead of really digging deep into policy. I mean, we have several 24 hour news channels that are essentially political commentary channel yet as far as I know not a single one of them spends much time really digging into policy. Sure, they'll take snippets and spin them to the point of being propaganda but none of the cable news networks actually say, "We're going to break this bill down." The American people are typically clueless as to what's actually in the laws that are passed. The news takes out pieces to accuse their respective opponent parties of adding in pork but frankly both parties are guilty of it. There is some horrendous shit that gets passed right under our noises with bipartisan support.

    This didn’t get much media attention. I wonder why?

    Democrats have tricked the public into thinking this is racist to talk about. Think about that.

    Here is a clip from the article:

    “A gray SUV drove down the 100 block of East 119th Street and sprayed the crowd of about 50 people — including at least 15 children — with bullets, Dale and Chicago police said.

    While Dale’s 11-year-old grandson ditched his bike in the street and dove into the grass in an attempt to get out of harm’s way, others jumped over fences into backyards or hid behind cars.”

    Some of what I have learned;

    https://www.therecoveryvillage.com/fentanyl-addiction/where-does-fentanyl-come-from/

    Informative article. Most fentanyl from China via MEXICO. Now who was trying to secure our border and who opened it wide open?

    Link in this article;

    https://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2018/oct/24/why-the-synthetics-trafficking-and-overdose-preven/

    "Wednesday, President Trump signed into law the Synthetics Trafficking and Overdose Prevention (STOP) Act, part of a broad package of bipartisan legislation passed by Congress to fight back against the opioid epidemic. The STOP Act targets a loophole in the global postal system that international criminals have exploited for over a decade to ship deadly drugs, including powerful opioids like fentanyl, into the U.S. without detection by law enforcement."

    So yes, he and Congress DID try. But like so many so many issues the government just cannot stop it alone. (i.e. gun control, drugs, pandemics, etc.) Best they do is put speedbumbs in the road.

    I remember a few months back a poster here on Covers said fentanyl was expensive on the street with Trump in office. Sour mexican fentanyl much cheaper they said. an_light

    Mass shootings are rare in Canada and Switzerland.  Two western countries closest to the US in gun ownership per capita.  But they have been far more successful in solving problem of gun violence through gun control.  Mandatory training.  Background checks.  Hard to obtain licenses and guns.  Key is making gun ownership a privilege instead of a right.  Unfortunately, US is unable to do what is necessary despite majority support for reforms.

    I agree to some extent.

    Better background checks. The real problem here is denial of ownership. Very hard to enforce, always someone saying it's political, racist, etc. Have to have an agreed upon bar that causes denial. A bar that does not move!!!

    Mandatory training required. thumbs_up

    Canada; interesting read here;https://www.thestar.com/news/gta/2019/11/06/are-gun-suspects-getting-easy-bail-heres-what-we-actually-know.html

    Excerpts; "In Toronto, as the number of people killed or injured in shootings continues to surge,"

    "Over the past few months, Toronto police Chief Mark Saunders and politicians have placed some of the blame for the rise in gun violence on the bail system, suggesting it operates like a revolving door for accused criminals."

    I don't have the Toronto numbers but they seem to be on the rise. Sounds all to familiar.

    Canada and Switzerland are very white and have very little gang violence.

    Why do Democrats always use very white countries to compare to the US? It’s very odd.

    The majority of gun homicides in the US come from people in illegal possession of a firearm.

    Of course Democrats are against tougher penalties for people caught in illegal possession of a firearm.
