Absurd for Trump to pretend to be a champion of the environment.    He tries to take credit for improvements in air and water quality since the 1970s.  His administration tries to rollback over 80 environmental regulations according to Harvard.  For example, repeal of clean power plan to tackle climate change.  However 39 regulations are reinstated after legal challenges according to Center for policy integrity.   2018 saw the biggest rise in carbon emissions in decades after years of decline according to Rhodium group.  According to Massachusetts institute of technology, 200,000 americans die each year from air pollution.

Here are the top three candidates to win Democratic nominees,  Kamala Harris (+225), Elizabeth Warren (+350) and Joe Biden (+425). While Donald Trump is -110 to win his second term. Way too early to say who will rise to the top from the Dems, Biden/Harris ticket might be it.

I notice that most of the sites I bet on have Trump winning in 2020 at around the -110 to +100 range but have the democrats winning the overall presidency at around -130.  That holding pattern is likely due to how early it is and the fact they don't know who he's going to face.

I'm not sure what a landslide line would look like line wise, but to me he's going to have to be more vigilante to save the state's he won in 2016.  He was mostly a wildcard in the last election but now people have seen him for a couple years and will have to determine what they will do.  I'm interested to see his strategy going forward because firing up his base won't win him another election, he's going to have to convince his non base to vote for him too which he seems to not care about at this point.

I would argue that it's the biggest flaw in the democratic party as well. And that is why they are losing ground in some of their traditional bases. African-Americans, for example. I think the last presidential election spoke volumes. I believe Clinton and the democratic party thought she would carry a much larger AA and woman vote than she did. I think the party thought they could campaign to these groups in the same old way. "Trumps a racist! He's a sexist, a womanizer!" Meanwhile the party lacked an actual platform. Trump, agree with it or not, had a platform. Bernie, as fantasy island as some of his platform was, he had a platform. What did Hillary/the democratic party campaign on again? It's funny, as we enter a new election cycle, I remember what Trump campaigned on, I remember what Bernie campaigned on, but what did the Hillary e g. the democratic party campaign on? They are fighting a war with piss poor battle plans, inept generals, and outdated weapons systems yet they are audacious enough to still always just assume they will win. That smugness is a turn off to a lot of people. The whole "Either you agree with us or you're a racist...or just plain stupid. A deplorable." party line is a turn off to many, specifically a large portion of today's youth. The democrats are too out of touch to see this.

Let's consider Obama dor a minute. We all know the party preferred Clinton to him as well, because they are out of touch, but let's consider him as a man. What's a huge reason he was elected? It's because he was as cool as the otherside of the pillow. People like his personality as much, if not more, than his politics. Then you look at the Clintons, the Pelosis, ect. It's as if the democratic party said, "Hey, you know what's even cooler than a hip, slick black guy?! Your Grandmother!!!" Bernie is a cooky old jewish guy but some how he connected with the youth. The DNC was like, "Nope. Nope. It must be Clinton!" Out of touch. The powers that be in the republican party didn't want Trump but they realized what their constituents wanted the rolled with it. The democrats are like, "We'll tell you what you want because we know better." It turns of a lot of voters. It turned off a lot of voters in the last presidential election.

Slim, "Iran" is a proper noun, the name of a country, and therefore is supposed be capitalized. The word "american" isn't. If he were to write "America" then he would use a capital "A".

I know,I know it's a compound proper noun so it's "A"

As I can agree with you on american not being a proper noun and should be spelled with a small "a"..when used in the singular.

3rd did not use the word american..the word used by him was americans (plural) not the singular word american..

Correct me if 'm wrong,if the noun Americans is a proper noun, the plural form for american...and as such the name of a nationality of people is always capitalized?

@StumpTownStu

I like your posts a lot.  You described the old guard of democrats to a "T", they are entitled and think they are just owed victories.  Let's see if they learn from their mistakes otherwise hello another 4 years of Trump lol.

Of course.
https://capitalizemytitle.com/ufaqs/is-american-capitalized/

Conclusion

Generally, no matter what part of speech the term “American” represents, it should always be capitalized. I will leave you with the following two examples of how the word can be used as both a proper noun and proper adjective.

Did not read the whole thread.   Not to be the grammar cop -- but lots of grammar is wrong in here.  But, no biggie, this is not an official essay class on here.  So, I rarely correct others.  Don't even halfway proofread my own on here.

"What truly makes our country great is its diversity. I’ve seen that beauty in so many ways over the years. Whether we are born here or seek refuge here, there’s a place for us all. We must remember it’s not my America or your America. It’s our America."

Hmmm,, what made her change her mind?    She wasn't proud of America her first 45  years ago.

Trump's Environmental protection agency is allowing use of dangerous pesticides on fruits and vegetables.  However ban on chlorpyritol is strongly supported by EPA's own scientists.  Evidence is overwhelming that even small doses can damage children brains and IQ.  Studies conclude that current levels in foods are unsafe and widespread.  Apparently, Trump administration favors the interests and donations of industry lobby over public health.  This is what happens when the wrong people are put in vital positions with enormous importance to public safety.

Trump's Nuclear regulatory commission plans to reduce safety inspections of nuclear power plants.  Despite many nuclear plants getting old and breaking down.  Experts from Union of concerned scientists and federal committees are alarmed.  It would be a mistake to weaken safety oversight.  Cutting corners may eventually lead to a costly disaster such as Chernobyl or Fukishima.  Over 180 million Americans live within 50 miles of 90+ nuclear plants, government needs to do more and not less to ensure public safety.

Trump's war on science continues as he plans to move USDA scientists from DC to Kansas. Moving them to Kansas keeps these scientists away from those responsible lawmakers who need their input in the decision making process. Science will not be part of this process.

So far only 27 of 250 employees have agreed to make the move. It's similar to Putin sending people to Siberia.

Stock market has performed far worse under Trump according to S&P global.  Under Obama, S&P500 grew by 56%, Dow Jones industrial average up 50% and Nasdaq up 92%.  However under Trump, 21% for S&P500, 25% for Dow and 34% for Nasdaq.

Although stock values aren't an accurate measure of US economic performance, they are popular with politicans.  Also presidents don't control the economy nor the stock market.  Since federal reserve and congress budget office forecast slower economic growth, Trump's stock market is unlikely to beat Obama's in the future.

It is truly hard to believe a fat arse like Jerry Nadler will try to take down President Trump on Wednesday. The attempted takedown is by a guy who never in his life could bench press a pencil! MAGA!

Although stock values aren't an accurate measure of US economic performance, they are popular with politicans.  Also presidents don't control the economy nor the stock market.  Since federal reserve and congress budget office forecast slower economic growth, Trump's stock market is unlikely to beat Obama's in the future.

Don't over look these statistics 3rdperson...According to the Gini Index..the distribution of income in the United States was more unequal under Obama’s presidency than any time since the 1930s...thanks to the stock market under Obama income inequality was worse under Obama than George W. Bush... the average income of the top 1 percent grew by 11.2 percent in real terms  from 2009 to 2016. The bottom 99 % saw their incomes decrease by 0.4 %

That means 121% of the income gains from the Obama recovery went to the wealthiest..Under President Obama the rich got richer, income inequality got worse and there were more people in poverty in American than ever before...

Barack Obama was definitely the President of the 1 %..

Trump's promise of a manufacturing renaissance is falling apart.  According to the federal reserve, US manufacturing sector is now in a recession after declines in 2 consecutive quarters.  This is a result of his stupid trade war.  ISM manufacturing index has historically been one of the best lead indicators of future recession.

Federal judges have rules against the Trump administration an astounding 63 times over the past 2 years.

Where's the Trump clown that always talks about Winning in this forum?

That rat probably jumped ship a long time ago & doesn't have the nut sack to show his face around here anymore.

Trump has called the press the enemy of the people again.

Income inequality has worsen under Trump according to Institute for policy studies.  His tax cuts benefit mostly the rich.  Doing nothing to raise minimum wage.  Budget cuts for education.  Weakening of social safety net by cuts in social programs.  Sabotage of obamacare leading to loss of access to healthcare insurance for the poor.  Deregulation of banking industry which weakens consumer protection.  According to United nations report, Trump is turning US into the world champion of inequality.

For decades, income inequality has been growing and hard to reverse.  But Obama has succeeded in slowing the rise in income inequality according to Census bureau and Congress budget office.  Taxes increased for the rich.  More tax credits for households.  Extending of unemployment insurance benefits.  Bailout of auto industry saved jobs.  More regulation of banking industry to prevent repeat of recession.  Obamacare allowed millions of Americans to gain access to healthcare insurance.

There's a great picture online of Jon Stewart smiling as Mitch McConnell walks by in the halls of Congress.

911 First Responder funding was finally approved after Pubs Mike Lee & Rand Paul delayed the process.

I hope first responders in Kentucky & Utah hold these two scumbags accountable.
