The GOP clinched major victories in two special elections held on Tuesday...
Mike Garcia managed to flip California's 25th District, becoming the first Republican to do that in the state since 1998.
Wisconsin state senator Tom Tiffany was able to maintain the GOP's control over the state's conservative-leaning 7th district left vacant by Rep. Sean Duffy.

In California and Colorado, Democrat run states, they are releasing prisoners due to Wuhan virus. It is now just as possible for a resident under 40 to die from one of these released prisoners as it is to die from Wuhan virus.
An estimated 87% of those dying from Wuhan are elderly, sick persons.
New York is also releasing prisoners, but refusing to allow Churches and Synagogues to gather and worship. Can’t go to the beach in California. Due to mis management, the governors of New York and Illinois have blown themselves out of a chance to be Sleepy Joes running mate. Nancy Pelosi says Trump is obese, but thinks Stacy Abrams is very sexy. Haha
Trump is putting America back to work. The Democrats continue to fail at creating chaos, fear and confusion.

Trump has nothing to do with people going back to work. He has no control over that issue.
These decisions are made by the Governors and the management of corporations and small businesses.
Democrats want to go back to work as much as anyone. So stop with the talking point bullshit Pubes vs Dems.
We are going to do this together and not divided.
And don't bitch about Nancy hurting Trump's fragile feelings. That POS has been calling people horrible names even before he entered politics.
Trump takes no responsibility at all. If he won't take any blame, you can't give him any credit.

What exact blame are you putting on him with this virus?

We are not “all in this together”.. That idealism dissipated a few years ago when the Democrats were exposed trying to Continually divide the country on racial boundaries. Then it was border issues, thenStormy Daniels, Russian Collusion, Trumps phone call, impeachment and now killing the economy by keeping people from going to work.
There is no America according to the Dems. I think, honestly, before you start calling people names like pubes. If anyone has become PUBES it is the whole Democrat party. Nancy Pelosi is disgusting. Tearing up the speech and acting like the Nazi she has become.
Why is it the dem. party governors stopping people from going back to work. The dem govs. who are opening up their states are under attack from the left. Why are the states lying about the true numbers of Wuhan deaths.?. What, noone has died from heart attacks and other diseases for 3 months.? .
The left blames Trump for everything, yet give him no credit for anything. It is the democrats who need to clean themselves up and take their fair share of this division in America. As a matter of fact, It is all the democrat manipulating, lying and political agenda which has caused the whole divide.
By the way. Those were Obama’s cages built on the border, not Trumps like the fake news said.
Just my 1st Amendment opinion. I’m not on a leftist college campus, so I do have an opinion. I respect yours.

Trump spent the last 2 years eliminating the experts needed to combat a virus of this nature.
He disregarded the "playbook" President O's administration created that documented a plan to implement.
He called it a hoax for weeks and disregarded the daily briefing warning him of the virus spread.
He continues to fire experts who's opinions differ from his.
He eliminated the US Government 30M Complex Crisis Fund under the power of the Secretary of State to monitor, prevent & respond to emerging or unforeseen crisis around the world.
He reduced National Health spending by 15 billion which include the PPE's needed since the virus entered the country.
He cut the CDC staffers from 11 to 3. 39 others categorized as "local employees" was reduced to 11. Experienced personnel were replaced by novices. The CDC budget has been cut by 20% in each year of his administration.
He has repeated false and misleading statements including the virus was contained & that it would disappear.
He disbanded the NSC Pandemic Unit. When asked about why he made this decision he called it a "nasty" question and refused to answer the question. Subsequently, he said "This is something you can never really think is going to happen."
At a time when the country needs an honest leader providing honest answers to difficult questions, he has failed miserably IMO.

architects of the NSC reorganization are speaking out, defending the White House’s decision by arguing that they merely streamlined a bloated organization and put pandemic and bioweapons experts in the same room, a move that was tested in real time by the 2018 upsurge in cases of the Ebola haemorrhagic fever in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
He disregarded the "playbook" President O's administration created that documented a plan to implement.
Who cares? A new administration has the option under any crisis to use other's or their own methods. Maybe the 'new experts' decided it was outdated or untried. Or simply dismissed nearly anything from the previous administration to go another direction. For this to matter -- you would have to demonstrate that the 'old playbook' would have worked. There is no way to know because it was never tried either. Just because it was written by Obama's crew does not mean it was best.

As the COVID-19 disease caused by the new coronavirus has spread around the world, a number of politicians, news organizations and public figures have made the false claim that the Trump administration cut the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s anti-pandemic work in over 40 countries to just 10. The CDC told us that’s not true.
The claim appears to have been based solely on outdated news reports from early 2018 that said the CDC was preparing to dramatically reduce its work helping to prevent infectious-disease epidemics. Those reports said much of that work on the Global Health Security Agenda, a pact between over 60 nations that began in 2014, had been funded by a five-year, nearly $600 million supplemental package that was dwindling. That one-time funding, which Congress originally appropriated in response to the Ebola epidemic in West Africa in 2014, ran out at the end of September 2019.
The director of the CDC’s Center for Global Health did say at the time that, without additional funding, its Division of Global Health Protection “will have to scale its global health security portfolio to focus efforts based on existing resources,” as the Wall Street Journal first reported in January 2018. If that happened, the official said the CDC would shift its focus to just 10 “priority countries” and “plan for the completion of its country-based programs” in 39 other nations, the Journal’s story said.

He called it a hoax for weeks and disregarded the daily briefing warning him of the virus spread.
Democratic presidential candidates harshly criticized President Donald Trump for using the term “hoax” in connection with the coronavirus outbreak. There’s no question that the president described the disease as the Democrats’ “new hoax” at a political rally on Feb. 28 in South Carolina.
But the following day, after the death of the first American from coronavirus in Washington state, Trump said that when he used the word “hoax,” he was referring to Democrats finding fault with his administration’s response to coronavirus, not the virus itself.
Even after Trump explained his remarks, some Democrats — including former New York City Mayor Mike Bloomberg — continued to wrongly accuse Trump of describing the coronavirus as a “hoax.”
The kerfuffle began at the rally in North Charleston, South Carolina when Trump accused the Democrats of “politicizing” the coronavirus outbreak.
“Now the Democrats are politicizing the coronavirus, you know that, right?” he said. “Coronavirus, they’re politicizing it. We did one of the great jobs. You say, ‘How’s President Trump doing?’ They go, ‘Oh, not good, not good.’ They have no clue. They don’t have any clue. They can’t even count their votes in Iowa.”
Then the president, who often dismissed special counsel Robert Mueller’s Russia investigation as a hoax, continued, “They tried the impeachment hoax. That was on a perfect conversation. They tried anything. They tried it over and over. They’d been doing it since you got in. It’s all turning. They lost. It’s all turning. Think of it. Think of it. And this is their new hoax.”
Trump went on to praise his administration for taking “the most aggressive action in modern history to prevent the spread of this illness in the United States,” referring to travel restrictions on foreign nationals who recently visited China

Not sure who exactly you mean here? But, so what? That is his choice. You would have to demonstrate who exactly and how it actually hurt for this to matter.
Those hypothetical cuts were avoided, however, because Congress later provided more funding for the CDC’s global health programs, the CDC told us in a statement.
Murphy’s office did not respond when we asked for a source for his statement, and Schumer’s office told us Schumer relied on a New York Times article that was published the day of his floor remarks. That Times piece was not the only one from a news outlet to state that the cutbacks the CDC warned about in 2018 had actually gone into effect.
As we said, the CDC told us that’s false.
“CDC did not have to cut back its work from 49 to 10 countries,” said Maureen Bartee, CDC’s associate director for Global Health Security, in a statement to FactCheck.org. “In the FY18-FY20 annual appropriations, CDC received base appropriations for global health security from Congress. This was used to continue the essential public health capacity development in the four core areas that was started in 2014 with the one-time supplemental funds.”

He reduced National Health spending by 15 billion which include the PPE's needed since the virus entered the country.
May 7, 2018
President Trump is sending a plan to Congress that calls for stripping more than $15 billion in previously approved spending, with the hope that it will temper conservative angst over ballooning budget deficits. Obviously way before Coronavirus – not after.
PPE were mainly the masks that were running out because the media and Liberals scared everyone into hoarding them along with toile paper. There were always plenty for the health workers.
He cut the CDC staffers from 11 to 3. 39 others categorized as "local employees" was reduced to 11. Experienced personnel were replaced by novices. The CDC budget has been cut by 20% in each year of his administration.
It is a damned lie that President Trump waited too long to act in response to the virus. In January, he created a coronavirus task force and imposed a travel ban from China at the end of the month. Since then, he has been issuing more travel bans, proposing economic recovery plans and meeting daily with the media to inform the American people. Also, his administration unveiled aggressive guidelines that have mitigated the spread of the disease.
While the president acted, Democrats in Congress were more interested in impeaching and convicting Donald Trump on ridiculous charges that did not generate any Republican support, except for U.S. Senator Mitt Romney of Utah. There was not a congressional hearing on the coronavirus until February. It is absurd that Democrats would claim the president did not act early enough when he was involved in this issue weeks before they did anything.
In an April guideline, the CDC admitted that the coronavirus mortality numbers are being bolstered. If a “definitive diagnosis of COVID-19 cannot be made, but it is suspected or likely, it is acceptable to report COVID-19 on a death certificate as ‘probable’ or ‘presumed.’” Does an organization like this need more people?

He has repeated false and misleading statements including the virus was contained & that it would disappear.
But the CDC was slow to recognize the size of the COVID-19 threat and it fumbled the ball in numerous ways. CDC Director Robert Redfield tweeted January 14 that “there is no confirmed person-to-person spread” of the illness, and on January 28 he emailed CDC colleagues that “the virus is not spreading in the U.S. at this time.”
A ProPublica analysis found, “Internal Emails Show How Chaos at the CDC Slowed the Early Response to Coronavirus.” The analysis concluded that “the CDC underestimated the threat from the virus and stumbled in communicating to local public health officials what should be done.” Meanwhile, an NPR investigation found that the CDC’s initiative to create an early warning system in selected cities was a flop.
This CDC brochure lauds the agency’s success at battling COVID-19. It says, “An important part of CDC’s role during a public health emergency is to develop a test and equip state and local public health labs with testing capacity.” The brochure does not mention that the CDC’s test failed and that federal actions delayed the deployment of private-sector tests.

The CDC and other federal health agencies told the public not to wear masks. The official line was: “CDC does not recommend that people who are well wear a facemask to protect themselves from respiratory illnesses, including COVID-19.” The U.S. Surgeon General was insistent about masks: “They are NOT effective in preventing general public from catching #Coronavirus.”
Why should we spend billions of dollars on health agencies that give us harmful advice?
Some pundits claim that budget cuts were the problem, but the table below suggests otherwise. The CDC workforce increased 12 percent between 2010 and 2019, based on data in CDC budget submissions here and here. The largest employment increase was in “Global Health,” a group that monitors foreign outbreaks of infectious disease. The group’s employment jumped from 272 in 2010 to 1,263 in 2019. The CDC says the group “supports global efforts to detect epidemic threats earlier, respond more effectively, and prevent avoidable catastrophes.” The agency should have been ready.

He disbanded the NSC Pandemic Unit. When asked about why he made this decision he called it a "nasty" question and refused to answer the question. Subsequently, he said "This is something you can never really think is going to happen."
Last month, Democrats tried a new way of blaming Trump for the coronavirus outbreak. Former New York City Mayor Mike Bloomberg claimed during the Democrat debate in South Carolina that Trump “fired the pandemic specialist in this country two years ago, so there’s nobody here to figure out what the hell we should be doing. [Applause] And he’s defunded Centers for Disease Control, CDC so we don’t have the organization we need.”
Breitbart News rated that “Mostly False.” We noted:
In reality, the pandemic expert — Rear Adm. Timothy Ziemer — left the National Security Council (NSC) voluntarily after then-National Security Advisor John Bolton was appointed.
Bolton disbanded the unit that Ziemer was supervising as part of an effort to downsize the bloated NSC staff…
The Trump administration has indeed proposed cuts to the CDC, but they have not been passed by Congress.
Moreover, some of the experts who had been part of the office remained on staff at the National Security Council.
Earlier this week, Democrats asked Dr. Anthony Fauci, a member of the president’s coronavirus team who leads the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases at the National Institutes of Health, about the decision to cut the White House’s National Security Council Directorate for Global Health Security and Biodefense. He was asked whether it had been a “mistake.”
Fauci said no, but added that it would also have been “nice” to have it around.
At a time when the country needs an honest leader providing honest answers to difficult questions, he has failed miserably IMO.
You can make that argument. But you can also make a better one that the over-bloated agencies and bureaucratic 'experts' and doctors failed Trump and the country more. Even Fauci is on record as saying that Trump has done everything they asked of him. The folks we should be able to rely on have been wrong at every turn and bungled this whole thing. The media and Democrats saw this as an opportunity and jumped all over it. It was not the CDC or the health officials that prompted Trump to act -- it was the intelligence community that initially did that.

I understand folk's frustration and even dislike with his method's and attitude. But I cannot understand the lack of willingness to give him any credit at all for anything. t is almost as if people are gleeful with something he does, or tries, does not work out.
It is simply irrational hate for the guy -- I can never understand that at all! Sure, he is in charge and gets final blame -- but it is not ever all his fault. And he certainly deserves some credit.

It's difficult to see what we are going through, but the Dems would have you believe our problems are unique and different from elsewhere. The truth is that Europe is suffering the same consequences as we are. ... so , let's hold those that are truly responsible... China, WHO, ... and if you are feeling adventurous, ... the CDC.
Did ANY of them act responsibly. ??!!
There were many opportunities for this virus to have been snuffed out before it arrived on our shores!!

Raiders, great summary of information in this thread. But to answer your question, people `parrot` media talking points, and the media is solidly against Trump.. I , for one, would appreciate our media to focus attention where attention is due.. CHINA
They are getting more aggressive by the day. Our media is doing us a disservice in this country. I get feeds from Australia that talks about the aggressive behavior from China.
People need to wake up to CHINA

I understand and agree to a point. But, as I explained before, they booby-trapped themselves. I do not think they ‘intentionally’ let it get out of hand. Their latest example of what to do was the Avian Flu and this ‘method’ worked. But since this was a ‘slower’ and less severe virus — the early isolation method did not work.
Of course, they fudged numbers and what-not after it got out of hand. But it was always coming here. It is a situation where it has to ‘run its course’.
It is human nature to look to place blame. Sure, China has some blame, Trump has some blame, WHO has some blame, CDC has some blame, Fauci has some blame.
But WE hold a lot of blame ourselves. WE allowed the agenda to be set by people that should not set policy in these situations. When you have a medical doctor and such setting policy — this is what you get. As opposed to Sweden, where a real epidemiologist and virologist set the agenda — folks that actually study viruses and their interactions on communities.
A lot of it is OUR fault letting the media and Liberals put us in such a position.

First it was Mexico who was the root of all our problems and you guys bought that in 2016.
Now Trump blames China for everything and you are falling into the same swamp again.
He takes no responsibility at all and you are willing to give him a pass on that?
Well, the rest of America won't in 2020 & the complicit cowards in the Senate will pay the price as well.

Give him a pass on what exactly? For blaming Mexico for something? For blaming China for something? It is not an either/or situation. They can both be at fault for different things. He didn’t blame either ‘for everything’ — he blamed each for something different.
