CLAIM: The U.S. Army raided the Frankfurt office of the Spanish election software company Scytl to seize servers that had evidence of voting irregularities in the Nov. 3 U.S. election.
AP’S ASSESSMENT: False. Both the Army and Scytl told The Associated Press the claim is not true. Furthermore, Scytl does not have offices or servers in Frankfurt, Germany.
THE FACTS: Social media users Saturday were sharing reports published by conservative websites claiming servers that would reveal wrongdoing in the U.S. election had been confiscated by U.S. military forces in Germany. Most posts said the servers belong to the software company Scytl, which is based in Barcelona, and some suggested the servers housed information from Dominion Voting Systems.
The false claims followed a Zoom call this week that featured Republican Rep. Louie Gohmert, of Texas, suggesting that “U.S. Army forces” had seized servers from a Frankfurt office of the software company Scytl.
I can not seem to find any connection with dominion voting systems in Colorado and sytl. Systems in spain. Maybe they utilize similar components manufactured in Japan but that about it. Semiconductors for the machines was the house oversights focus in discussions of voting systems.
Idox Elections, in partnership with the Electoral Commission of Malta and Scytl, has confirmed the successful delivery of the Maltese European Parliament election, making history by using an Electronic Vote Counting Solution to count the country's ballots for the first time.
Intended to accelerate Malta's counting process, Idox's e-counting software successfully reduced the counting time from days to hours, delivering the poll results in record time. This coincided with the largest electoral register for a MEP election in Malta's history, with over 370,000 people eligible to vote, and over 270,000 exercising this right on polling day.
Chief Electoral Commissioner of the Electoral Commission of Malta, Joseph Church noted, "The Electoral Commission is very satisfied with the well-organised and timely delivery of software, services and hardware for the simultaneous election of councillors across Malta's 68 Localities for the Local Council Elections and the election of 6 MEPs across 13 Electoral Divisions for the European Parliament Election… The speed and accuracy of the [e-counting] solution was essentially evident throughout all four counting days, generating very positive feedback from a number of stakeholders, including the major political parties.
"The Electoral Commission Malta looks forward to continued working and collaboration with Idox in the coming months, ahead of the forthcoming General Elections."
Having been awarded the contract to support all Parliamentary, General and Local elections from 2019 until 2024 back in November 2017, Idox and Scytl have supported a phased delivery and implementation process over the last 18 months to ensure a robust, secure and transparent e-counting system fit to deliver all future elections in Malta. This included ongoing system trials and performance checks, as well as external verifications and accreditations in the build-up to the main May 2019 event.
Following the e-counting software's success, Joanne Campbell, Head of Elections Services at Idox Elections commented; "I am extremely proud of the efforts of the Idox team here in Malta and their dedication to the successful delivery of this project. We have worked incredibly hard to ensure the people of Malta have an electronic voting system that they can be proud of, and have complete trust in.
