Tim Walz couldn't even deliver Wisconsin.
@StumpTownStu
Do you think if Harris went with Shapiro she might have won this? I kind think that was the deciding factor for this loss, that and good ole Joe dumped this on her with like 100 days to do it. She picks Shapiro she might have won PA and the wall has gone together since '92

Maybe. Shapiro had more personality than Tim Walz. Ultimately this is on her though, much like Clinton in 2016. She just didn't campaign well. No memorable speeches. No viral moments. She just wasn't a relatable and likeable candidate.

I don't think Shapiro wanted it though. Why run on a losing ticket when you can throw your hat in the ring for Prez in 4 years.

Plus he is one of the ones that should be upset they just 'selected' Harris and did not have an open primary. Because he, along with Newsom and quite a few others, could have won the primary and likely have beaten Trump. So, yes, why run and lose as VP candidate.
Still would have been a better choice. But VP does not matter much overall and rarely has swayed folks.

Gavin is so bad though.
Gavin is so bad though.
But he looks good and is slick and has a HUGE state he has run --maybe into the ground -- but still.
Good looking guys get the women out to vote --just a fact.
I think he was their best choice. I bet he is very upset they did not give him a chance.
I am not a fan -- just saying what I think would have been likely.

@THEMUGG
Plus she never could 'discuss' any issues at all.
All she had to do was prep and be ready -- she did it for the debate.
Everyone is taught to do that in university when studying law, etc.
But all she had to do was do like any politician and swerve the question to whatever your prep is.
She just cannot freestyle like Trump and her handlers refused to fix that.

Clinton was a mess for 2016 in so many ways, and even OB wanted her over Joe.
It's going to be interesting how JD Vance does since Trump is going in a lame duck. To me he seems well spoken, I believe top of his class from Yale. In the VP debate he didn't attack Walz and appeared as respectful as possible so if he has a good track record I can see JD right in the thick of it in '28
the ticket in '28 should be a woman vs woman, then no one can call the number of names that's been thrown around this time around

@soup-can
Oh, Vance is elite. No doubt about it.
But, if things do not go well at all in the next couple of years, it will be very hard for him.
They need to accomplish things.

My wife, the girlfriend used to think he was cute too. We're from the Bay so i'm talking first year mayor Gavin. She thinks he's a creep now. She hadn't had to deal with him as Governor though. I, on the other hand, am still very much entrenched in California.

Matt Taibbi, in the book Hate inc. - Matt Taibbi is a brilliant journalist, who for a longtime was chief political correspondent for Rolling Stone. So, you know, he had press core credentials. He's traveling around with the circus. He says in Hate inc., great book, that it became pretty clear to the guys along for the ride on the campaign trail that Clinton didn't have the support and was probably gonna lose. They were just told not to write about it. When I would talk to people, liberals, it was pretty clear that Clinton was unpopular. Many in the party were Bernie supporters that felt jaded. She just wasn't likeable. The she did the most elitist thing she could do and called peeps "a basket of deplorables." Who even talks like that.
I got the same vibe from Kamala. She's not elitist or unlikeable. She was just empty. Aloof. She's not the woman who was once DA of SF. I met that woman several times. Heard her speak. I don't know what they did to her.
