Romney vs. Obama -- My largest wager of the year!!!

Question

I have never read/chatted with you guys in here before but I am a political junkie to the point of fault. As a salesman I'm in my car the vast majority of the day and I listen to politics about 70% of the time with sports being the remaining 30%.

Admittedly, I'm a pretty liberal Democrat. I don't hesitate to refrain from conversations about politics and religion for that matter.

Having said all of this, I have decided that I'm going all-in on this election. I placed a previous wager back in September when I was able to catch Obama at -155 for 465.00 to WIN 300.00.

I've had an amazing NFL day bringing in more than $1400.00 increasing my account to a little over 6300.00. Once tonight's Dallas/Atlanta game is over I'm placing the following wagers:

Obama WIN Presidential Election (MORE ELECTORAL VOTES) (-275) for 4880.00 to WIN 1774.55

Obama WIN Colorado (-120) for 600.00

Obama WIN Florida (+180) for 300.00

I am throwing money away here. I think FL goes to Mitt but this is going in due to blind hope and wishful thinking..

Obama WIN Ohio (-260) for 520.00

I think Colorado has tremendous value. Definitely hammering that one the hardest, Obama wins that state easily.

I agree with you on Colorado.  I don&#x27;t know if it will be deemed "easily" but I&#x27;m very confident it will come in.  The 2010 Senate election proved to me that the chances of that state going to Romney are not good.DiverRon, I believe I threw the money away on our state.  I only pulled the trigger because I was down in Miami this past weekend and saw a very high ratio of pro-Obama paraphernalia to pro-Romney.  I&#x27;d dare to say, at least, 10 to 1.  It is the opposite up here in central FL where I&#x27;d say it is pro-Romney 7 to 3 (or better).

Polling averages were 3.5 & 4 points off! The polls are way under counting Latino & young voters who use cell phones only. Right now the polling average for 2012 is Obama by.6%, basically dead-even by given the past history Obama is going to over perform this. I'm putting him down for a 4% win.

Cool_Arrow I use four sportsbooks and SportsBook.com, by far, has the best lines I&#x27;ve seen.  5Dimes seems to be heavier than most.

i have basically the same bets (for different amounts, at different prices)... the only difference is that i bet Iowa instead of Colorado... was originally going to bet Florida, Ohio, Iowa and Colorado... but for some reason i got cold feet with Colorado...

i'm not so certain we are throwing away money on Florida, but the way i see it, my Iowa bet covers the Florida wager... just need to win 2 of these 3 states, and i will win money on the state wagers... and, if Obama wins 2 of those 3 states, he will win the EV by a comfortable margin...

I am a consverative liberatarian; yet I made pretty much the same wagers as you did.

Obama to win the election...my final tally was scaled in at around (-180). I ended up passing on the Florida and Colorado votes.....FlA will go to Romney IMO, but Barry should carry colorado. I Agree on the Ohio pick, got mine at -210 at intrade awhile back.

Amazing how money has a way of transcending all political affiliations. GL with your picks .

Then again at -275 and -260 there's not an outlandish variance.
