yeah so whats your point. They had to spend lots of money in order for harris to get seen and try to win an election.  Those tv ads arent cheap. I really dont understand your point.  Should they have just saved the money and not spent it.  Am sure the people who donated the money, wanted it to be used.

I guess next time i donate to the spca or salvation army, am gonna tell them am donating my money but please dont spend it on anything.

Harris needs to start selling shoes, coins, hats, bibles, perfume just like the big guy.

As a trial attorney I would be utterly offended if that happens. For the most part, politics aside, the best legal minds in the country have served on the US Supreme Court. If anyone can honestly argue she is one of the top legal minds of our country I would love to see that. I have read every Supreme Court opinion for the past 20+ years and this would be a farce of epic proportions. I have no problem with Sotomayor retiring so Joe can appoint one of his liking but with the confirmation process he better get going on it. It just better not be Harris or that will be my final straw with this administration.

Trump paid several celebrities to appear at campaign events. It's just how these things work. Celebrities always want an appearance fed. For example, 50 Cent reportedly turned down 3 million to appear. The campaigns aren't paying for endorsement per se. Most campaigns tap people who have already vocalized support for a certain candidate. The payment is for the appearance. Celebrities don't just hop on a flight and show up. Most don't. They're walking production companies complete with full staffs. A quick appearance can mean accommodations for five, fifteen, etc. To do anything for free is to do at a loss.

  I seriously doubt that would ever happen. It was just another talking head blowing smoke.......kind of like the one that suggested Biden step down & allow Harris to be potus for a couple months.

Politics aside I don't think Joe has much respect for Harris at this point. But even if he did or he was just being a good party line toter this would be the worst decision of his administration. Assuming she could pass the confirmation process. I have met some unbelievable legal minds in this country. Some truly amazing Jurists. Regardless of party these are people that just think on another level. Kamala Harris is not one of them. Never has been. Never will be. It is honestly remarkable how far she has gone with such little skills. I will give her credit for that.

Exactly what has she done?  She was FIRST out in 2020.  She was GIVEN the nom once they kicked Biden out.  Only thing she did was check boxes

I am not doubting this.  But I have not seen a list of any other than the ones they put out about the Harris campaign doing it.  It seems the media would at least reference it in their articles on the Harris campaign doing it.

 I want to second this question, the whole reason Trump was having outside rally's was rumored he didn't pay his bills from the 2016 time so nobody would book him without upfront payment

 I am not doubting it as much as questioning how much and who.  I just have not seen where the Trump campaign did it.  Maybe they fly them in and put them up and feed them.  But are they paying exorbitant appearance fees to endorse?

The reason I question it is from a purely economic theory standpoint.  

I had someone look at it some years ago.  There is no real ROI, correlation, or bang for your buck that can be demonstrated.  There may be a small link with reinforcing a pre-set view or energizing a turnout.  But it is small.  

However, there seems to be no link to swaying voters one way or the other.

The Sinatra effect is questioned simply because maybe he was just jumping on a winning bandwagon, so to speak.

The only time I have ever seen it really work is with the Oprah endorsement of Obama over Clinton.  That, for sure, energized some folks and maybe even swayed a number of upwards of 1m to 2M voters.

My contention has always been it is better to have a politician in certain areas endorse a candidate -- like a Governor or Mayor or revered Senator.  I think the endorsement of a 'celebrity' is wasted in a campaign.

You can clearly see it work and can track it in realtime with products.  Say with basketball shoes or clothing, etc.

So, I am curious if the Trump campaign did it.  If they did, I am curious if it worked and how much it worked.

Maybe things have changed since we last looked into it.

 It appears as though the Harris campaign flushed $1.5 billion down the toilet.......& still owe several million.......in about three months time. That's gonna take a while to launder.
