South Dakota Attorney General Jason Ravnsborg was given fines but no jail time Thursday for fatally striking a pedestrian on a rural highway while driving home from a GOP fund-raiser last September.

Ravnsborg, 45, was handed the sentence by a judge after accepting a plea deal on the eve of his trial in the misdemeanor traffic case.

Struck killed a man left the scene of an accident....

Struck and killed a man while drunk driving. He didn&#x27;t leave the scene though. Called the Sheriff or a state trooper, said he thought he hit a deer, the cop gives him his car to drive home. The next morning, on the way back to return the car, they have a look and, "Oh my, it&#x27;s a human being!"
