with President Trump for his new book "Rage." There are startling revelations
in the tapes about Trump's response to coronavirus among other topics.

President Donald Trump told journalist Bob Woodward that he knew
the coronavirus was more deadly and contagious than the flu while
he continued to downplay its dangers to the public,
according to Woodward's new book "Rage."
"I wanted to always play it down. I still like playing it down,
because I don’t want to create a panic," Trump told Woodward
on March 19 in excerpts of audio interviews obtained by CNN.
Trump discussed the threat of the coronavirus with
a level of detail that he had not yet acknowledged to the public,
noting on Feb. 7 that it was "deadly stuff," and
"more deadly than your – even your strenuous flus!"

President Trump admitted he knew weeks before the first confirmed
US coronavirus death that the virus was dangerous, airborne, highly
contagious and "more deadly than even your strenuous flus," and
that he repeatedly played it down publicly, according to legendary
journalist Bob Woodward in his new book "Rage."

In a series of interviews with Woodward, Trump revealed that
he had a surprising level of detail about the threat of the virus
earlier than previously known.
"Pretty amazing," Trump told Woodward, adding that the
coronavirus was maybe five times "more deadly" than the flu.
Trump's admissions are in stark contrast to his frequent public comments
at the time insisting that the virus was "going to disappear" and
"all work out fine."
The book, using Trump's own words, depicts a President who has
betrayed the public trust and the most fundamental responsibilities
of his office.
Trump says the job of a president is "to keep our country safe."
But in early February, Trump told Woodward he knew
how deadly the virus was, and in March, admitted
he kept that knowledge hidden from the public.

If instead of playing down what he knew, Trump had acted decisively

The startling revelations in "Rage," which CNN obtained ahead
of its September 15 release, were made during 18 wide-ranging
interviews Trump gave Woodward from December 5, 2019 to
July 21, 2020.
The interviews were recorded by Woodward with Trump's permission,
and CNN has obtained copies of some of the audio tapes.

During an interview with MSNBC, Pelosi said Trump should face
the reality of coronavirus.
"The way to avoid a panic is to show leadership — to say,
‘This is what the challenge is, we’re going to use scientific evidence
that is available to us to contain it, we are going to make sure that
we can stop the spread of it.'
That is what STOPS a panic, not ignoring it,” Pelosi said.
“He didn’t know how to cope with the challenge to our country,”

answers. He could have contained this early on."
Bob Woodward is trying to come up with another Watergate scandal ..However it's not going to happen by filling the book with lies and untruths..for one example..Bob Woodward’s reporting that Dr. Fauci once said President Trump was “unfocused in meetings” and that “his sole purpose is to get re-elected”....Dr. Fauci is saying he doesn’t “recall that at all.”
Fauci, was quoted in Woodward's new book Rage as disparaging the president’s “rudderless” leadership and saying his “attention span is like a minus number.” Fauci told Fox News correspondent John Roberts. " I don’t recall that at all,,,,“I didn’t read the book, but according to what I saw in the newspapers, it said, ‘others have said that.’ ”
Fauci also denied Woodward’s claims that Trump was purposely downplaying the threat of the coronavirus pandemic.“I didn’t get any sense that he was distorting anything. In my discussions with him, they were always straightforward about the concerns that we had,” Fauci said.
This book will fade faster than John Bolton's book that was suppose to do President Trump in..or Trump's niece's tell all book ..
Woodward's book is the last hurrah from a aged journalist writing anything.. true or not to sell his book and gain lost fame and acquire some importance again ...but to bad for Bob it's a fail..

Joe Biden reacted to the revelations in Bob Woodward's book, saying that
President Trump "willingly lied" and called Trump's response to Covid-19
"a life-and-death betrayal of the American people."
Biden said Trump's comments to Woodward in early February show
he "knew how deadly" the virus was.
"It was much more deadly than the flu.
He knew and purposely played it down.
Worse, he lied to the American people," he added.
"He had the information. He knew how dangerous it was.
And while this deadly disease ripped through our nation,
