The 2nd Democrat presidential debates ............

CNN, is broadcasting the debates, assigned candidates randomly with a drawing Thursday night, with 10 candidates spread evenly over two events scheduled July 30-31 and held in Detroit.

Sens. Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren will headline the July 30 lineup,Flanking Sanders and Warren on the first night will be  Beto O'Rourke
Steve Bullock,,( replacing Eric Swalwell who dropped out)
Pete Buttigieg
John Delaney
John Hickenlooper
Amy Klobucha
Tim Ryan... and
Marianne Williamson.

July 31st the second night, Biden and Harris will take center stage joined by...........
Cory Booker
Bill de Blasio
Michael Bennet
Julián Castro
Kirsten Gillibrand
Tulsi Gabbard
Jay Inslee
Andrew Yang.

The next round of debates, scheduled for September 12&13,in Houston ..with higher standards .. this may mean many of the 20 candidates on stage in Detroit won’t have a place in Houston.

In the 2nd Democrat debate,in the battleground state of Michigan (President Donald Trump won the traditionally blue state in 2016)..

Three of CNN's biggest names will moderate the Democratic presidential debates..

Dana Bash, Don Lemon and Jake Tapper will ask the questions at the Democratic National Committee-sanctioned debates over two nights,at the Fox Theatre in Detroit...

I'm in Michigan now & haven't heard a word about the debates on local TV. I suppose it will start next week. 

I happen to like Dana Bash but certainly don't care for the other two especially Tapper. One positive for Tapper is he's a great cartoonist. I'd like to see his renderings of this fiasco.

The candidates will be given 60 seconds to respond to a moderator-directed question, and 30 seconds for responses and rebuttals.

In addition, the campaign representatives were told:

Colored lights will be used to help the candidates manage their remaining response times: 15 seconds = yellow; 5 seconds = flashing red; no time remaining = solid red. (whats penalty for over-running a solid red light?)

A candidate attacked by name by another candidate will be given 30 seconds to respond.( If you are Joe Biden you don't have to use the full 30 seconds)..

There will be no show of hands or one-word, down-the-line questions....probably because all 10 Democrats on stage last debate  raised their hands for giving millions of illegal aliens unlimited healthcare............didn't go over good with Americans...esp the millions of Americans living without health coverage....

A candidate who consistently interrupts will have his or her time reduced...Last debate Kirsten Gillibrand and Marianne Williamson interrupted the most 9x's each ..followed by drop-out Eric Swalwell at 7 and Big Bird de Blasio with 6..

No, we are a little further north.

Rarely do we talk about politics with friends and family. However just talking chit with people in the bar, many are still waiting for their tax cut, more new jobs & infrastructure projects to start.

We have a catfight brewing..

Tusi Gabbard today slammed Kamala Harris..saying she is not qualified to serve as commander-in-chief,and I can say this from a personal perspective as a soldier.

She lacks the temperament that is necessary for a commander-in-chief....

It will be interesting to see her tearing into Kamala Harris with that one..

For saying that ..Horizontal Harris will probably just call Tusi a racist Samoan..

Marianne Williamson's demand for reparations may have gotten her a good share of the African-American vote ..

Her proposal to pay between $200 billion to $500 billion in reparations to descendants of slaves..not calling it assistance" but "payment of debt that is owed" should resonate in cities like Detroit..

Although she did not say how she would get the money to pay for it..

Typical Democrat campaign pledge without Identifying were the funding would come from..

Montana Governor Steve Bullock,,making the stage for the first time (replacing Eric Swalwell ) made his presence felt and held his own ..saying he did not support Medacare -for-All.....In opposition to socialist Senators Harris, Sanders and Warren..  

He said ,he "won't support any plan that rips away quality health care from individuals,"

Bullock added Medical-for-All  " is an example of wishlist economics."....adding  'We can get there with the public option."

 Marianne Williamson made an impression with many debate viewers....she was the most searched Democrat candidate during the second Democrat debate on Tuesday, according to Google Trends.

Williamson was also the top-searched candidate in 49 of 50 states, excluding Montana, where its governor, Steve Bullock, ranked higher.

Williamson also won the Drudge Report’s instant straw poll.

As candidates attacked each other ...Former Maryland Rep. John Delaney said that candidates like Warren and Sanders are offering "free everything" and "fairy tale economics" that will block the path to the White House...


That's it,, free stuff gets them to the polls every time..........

After the debate snoozer last night ..tonight's debate should be a little more lively....with Harris having showed the other candidates the formula for rising in the polls and attracting supporters ...Attack Biden...portray him as a racist..say anything to discredit him..

The other candidate on the stage tonight cannot avoid challenging the former Vice-president just because he was Obama's VP..

For ,,Biden's part he will have to stop trying to ride to the Presidency on Obama's legacy ...or it will be his requiem..

Note : It doesn't help Biden's cause,that fmr. President Obama has not endorsed him for President .

Andrew Yang has a proposal to give every single American adult $1,000 a month..The “Freedom Dividend” as Yang calls it...

Hey!  it would only cost the government $3.5 trillion a year.

I'm all for it..

He intends to pay for it with a value-added tax, a consumption tax levied on goods at each stage of their production. e.i.  "a value added tax which would get the American public a slice of every Amazon transaction and Google search.”

I like this guy..and he's got a good sense of humor ..he say's he is the opposite of President Trump ..he's Asian and likes math..

Who would have thought Joe Biden was not safe using President Obam'a accomplishments to help promote his achievements ..

Some of the candidates were even challenging policies under President Obama like Obamacare and immigration..Leaving Biden to stumble over words trying to defend them...

Democrats need to take it easy on Joe ..or there will not be anything left of him for President Trump to destroy next year..

Once again Joe wasn't prepared IMO. When you have decades of service to pick apart & you have supported corporations most of your career, it's not an attractive picture for those who want major change in the country.

His ideas sound as old as he is & he better get his act together.

I agree that Harris looked offended when she was confronted & she too has a history that can be exposed.
