Biden to announce withdrawal of US troops
from Afghanistan by September 11

Most Democrats said they supported Biden's desire to finally wind down
the longest war in US history, but some said they were concerned about
losing hard-fought gains in Afghanistan.

Many Republicans slammed the decision as premature. 
But other GOP lawmakers cheered that US troops are finally coming home!

** Interesting how the GOP was fully in support of
TRUMP'S previous announcement for a May 1 withdrawal deadline,
but now that a Democrat is in the WH, ummm, September 11 is "premature"

  we hope . but this is far from a done deal even with only a simple majority needed

prolly work better if the dems made a separate bill for each use in the budget

Presient Biden insists that September 11 deadline is definite, regardless what happens on the ground between now and then.

The last of our troops in a 20 year war, are *finally* coming home!

The boss & I are considering adding Afghan vets returning home to our property management company. We currently farm our electric/HVAC/plumbing & may bring this in house. Only problem is we don't have enough "problems" to keep them busy full time.

We're just bouncing around ideas & maybe we can hook up with a couple of realtors that need property repaired as part of their sales/purchases for their clients. We want to make sure these vets return to good paying careers.

Here's to them all returning safely.

 None at all other than a stiff upper shoulder the 1st day.

Our small town arranged for residents to register by phone which they answered on the 2nd ring. We arrived @10 am as scheduled, they checked our paperwork & confirmed our residency via our drivers licenses. Once that was done & while still in our cars, we proceeded up to 2 waiting EMT's who asked which arm we wanted to use, applied an alcohol laced puff ball to clean the area & stuck us. We were given our covid shot cards with our 2nd shot date noted on it. We were told to pull behind another car & asked to wait for 15 minutes in case we had a negative reaction. A city volunteer checked with us to make sure all was OK & we left after our 15 minutes. It was extremely efficient.

So when I see the lines across the country, I wonder why. We drove off at 10:27.      

President Joe Biden will be implementing sanctions against Russia. Biden spoke with Russian President Vladimir Putin Tuesday, in what was reported to be a "tense" conversation.

Bloomberg News reports that among the things in the sanctions plan are that diplomats must leave the United States by the end of the day Thursday. I don't know if Trump's name is on the list.

"The U.S. plans to sanction about a dozen individuals, including government and intelligence officials, and roughly 20 entities, according to one of the people, who asked not to be identified because the matter was sensitive," said the Bloomberg report. "The U.S. is also expected to expel as many as 10 Russian officials and diplomats from the country, the person said."

The reason cited is the Solar Winds hack and intrusion in the election. Meanwhile, there is a line of Russian troops along the border of Ukraine, as part of the aggression against the country.

Washington (CNN) Colorado Democratic Gov. Jared Polis signed two bills tightening
gun regulations into law on Monday, nearly a month after the mass shooting in Boulder,
Colorado, left a police officer and nine others dead.
Both measures were introduced before the mass shooting occurred on March 22.
