     So after saying for many months that he can't do anything to secure the border, which his admin. claimed was already secure (an_roll_laugh), Dementia Joe is signing an EO to "limit" crossings. Do his handlers think all Americans are stupid? House Speaker Johnson had to show him that he has the authority, just like the last admin., to close the border.

     This is clearly a Hail Mary attempt to stem his fledgling poll numbers as we inch towards election day.

     He's still acting like it's not his fault that the border has been overrun.

    "The only person responsible for the chaos at our border is Joe Biden. In 2020, he said that he would reverse all of President Trump's highly effective policies. That sent a signal to everyone around the world that if you got to our border you could get in. That's exactly what he did on day one," he insisted. "And we had more illegal crossings in 2021 than we had had in any previous year and again in '22, and again in '23. That has nothing to do with the bill that Congress may or may not pass in the spring of 2024."

    …again emphasized Biden was at fault by pointing out that "this chaos at our border, 10 million illegal migrants crossing our--into our country's border over the last three-plus years is solely the responsibility of Joe Biden."

    According to a new poll from Harvard CAPS-Harris, which Spencer also highlighted earlier on Monday, 73 percent of voters believe that it is appropriate to use the term "illegal immigrants." This includes 73 percent of Democrats, 76 percent of Republicans, 69 percent of Independents/Others, 80 percent of those who have heard of Laken Riley, and 61 percent of those who have not heard of the young woman.

    Since republicans block bipartisan immigration bills, Biden announces executive order that would close border during migrant surges.  Despite record removals of migrants, border encounters exceed capacity due to outdated laws and limited resources.  Of course, executive orders are temporary solutions.  Congress is mostly responsible for immigration laws but has failed to agree on any legislation for decades.  Previously, courts struck down similar orders from Trump.  American civil liberty union says asylum bans are illegal under US law.

    @scooby-doos

     Your boys blocked the bi-partisan immigration bill becase you don't want the issue to be resolved before the election.

    It's very similar to all those who voted against the infrastructure bill but are front & center to take credit at ground-breaking ceremonies in their states.

    The GOP is just a bunch of weak gutless cowards who cower before the orange blob.

    Disgraceful!

    Biden's current action really does nothing to slow the flow. It is all show. He is NOT closing the border, only denying asylum. They will still enter and stay in the country without the ability to gain asylum until dem lawyers get it reversed after the election, with Biden's blessing I'm sure. Smoke and mirror show.

    The problem is those who want to enter the country will do so before the election fearing Trump will win and shut it down. There will be a surge as election day gets closer. That hurts Joe's chances. He's now grasping at straws because of the mess he created. Probably thought railroading Trump through the kangaroo court system would do the trick. Wrong, he is being held somewhat accountable.

     Bullshit!

    The GOP wouldn't have been happy with any # set & you know that. It's in the GOP playbook....bitch, complain & then take credit for anyting successful that takes place.

    And now, your team wants to put a kabash on anything Joe wants to do before the election. Fine do it!

    @UNIMAN

     So Trump will shut it down, what does this mean exactly? Can you give some specifics that have reality and detail to what you are suggesting here? How does one politician entering change the border being CLOSED or OPEN to the extent you are suggesting?

    Neither are interested in closing the border, the difference is one is trying to sucker you into voting for him based on an implausible concept and one that he did not keep last time he gamed his way in. Trump made absolutely ZERO impact on the border in his term, none at all or how would Biden be such a disaster if your boy did not fix all the woes he promised last time? Trump loves to bash the crap out of everyone make all sorts or promises that he will never ever keep.

    But hey it works on you so I guess he isnt so stupid after all.

    Biden executive order is better than nothing and allows for action despite congress inaction.  Authority to shut down asylum requests when daily encounters reach 2500 is more severe than 5000 threshold of bipartisan border bill.  This should lead to fewer entries, more expulsions and fewer people heading to border.  This year, border encounters are already 40% less since December because of deal with Mexico to slow immigration.  With over 500 executive orders in first 3 years, Biden presidency has been the most active on immigration.

    God, the audio from Trump’s call to Mexico’s president was so desperate and embarrassing. Begging is not negotiation. No wonder he was furious it got leaked. But it was so bad, it had to get leaked. He’s obviously a terrible negotiator, never had to actually negotiate anything when he didn’t have a ton of leverage already.

    I’d say the bigger debacle is of thousands of death threats to lawful American citizens by MAGAs every day.

    You know, instead of the fabricated border BS the GOP has been whining about for 35 years, yet somehow never was able to pass any legislation about that when they controlled the WH, the House, and the Senate.

    Biden reversed every action Trump had done to secure the border which led to the invasion we've witnessed over the past 3+ years. Senate democrats ignored HR-2 that Congress had passed, leading to where we are now.

     Looks like Biden's claim that the laptop story was "garbage" has been debunked......it was entered into evidence in his kids' trial.

    Border policy has changed less than people think.  Biden administration kept title 42 to expel millions of migrants. By itself, decades of restrictive law enforcement have been insufficient to solve immigration problems because the world has changed.  Fact is responding to global surge of immigration requires major reforms by congress that no president can fix.  United nations report over 100 million people have been forced to flee countries in 2023.  Senate bipartisan bill was the best opportunity for pro-GOP immigration policies in years.  Now DeSantis blames republicans for abandoning historic bill and losing all leverage to do anything.

    How many candidates for president pubilicly said "migrants should surge the border????

    Soooo, how many presidents had migrants waiting to surge when he took office?

    How many presidents saw t-shirts with their name on it saying "let us in"?

    Biden created this mess and it is a mess. Take off the partisan glasses and see reality.

    @wallstreetcappers

     Trump won't be able to "shut it down" and I certainly never said or believe that. What he will do is CONTROL IMMIGRATION unless Dems try to screw him every step of the way. I expect no less.

    Just control immigration is all I ask.

    There were thousands wearing biden t shirts on their way here.  Biden could have done anything but he chose to open , and lie to the American people.  Election coming, his numbers suck, and has some party members second guessing themselves.   This is ALL IS ON BIDEN.

     this executive order stated 2,500 correct?  It was reported that Thursdays crossing reached at least 3,800 so did the Border Patrol not get the memo from POTUS??

    sounds like the next report from the white house is going to be it was because we need more agents and judges down there.  Thats what my magic 8 ball just said, and I shook that sucker for a minute
