I completely disagree with pretty much all you said here.
The market WOULD exist with speculators being completely out or severely muted, the comment you made goes against pretty much every principal you stand for..the market would exist with wider spreads but without the volatility and the abuse.
The FED is not doing this, there is nothing that says if you print X number of dollars that it equates to speculation being tolerated and allowed, just as the printing of money has not led to ANY increase in lending/borrowing..the exact opposite is in fact true. Speculators have existed before, during and will after whatever the FED is doing..you need to stop making excuses for manipulators and destroyers of these unregulated and leveraged markets.

If presses run night and day and flood the market with useless paper,
It would create inflation.(right)
Which would make commodities cost more, driving up prices.
When this is noticed by (evil speculators) and the presses are still running day and night.
I really do not understand why or how people blame them for investing in something that is already taking place.
China has been buying up commodities like crazy.
Hasn't the FED been responsible for the monetary policy.
I just do not get it, someone put it in baby terms for me.

I think they can print all of the money they want but it won't do much for inflation unless they circulate it to the people that don't normally circulate it too. (poor/middle class)
The inflation is caused by unusual high demand.
Maybe Rick you were implying they circulated after printing.

What is inflation..is it an increase in the money supply or is it an general increase in prices?
I think as the poster above me hinted, you are mixing the two issues.
We are seeing inflation in areas where speculation is occurring, we are not seeing inflation in other areas, and we are seeing drop in prices in some asset classes.
I dont think what we are seeing is money supply based inflation, I dont think the demand exists to call what we are experiencing as inflation..we are seeing speculation based inflation.
