Trump's administration mirrors Warren Harding's administration, except Trump is complicit in all of the criminal activity while Harding supposedly had no knowledge of what was going on. Trump likely gives a bonus to the sleaziest cabinet member of the month. So the people attracted to this kind of presidency are opportunists and grifters. They're looking to get the most out of the situation, for as long as possible, until it's become untenable and they must move on. Everyone has their own motives but part of why Trump's White House is so dysfunctional is a lack of a real ideology or agreement in principles. These people are all working for themselves and backstabbing others. There's no cohesiveness and most of the people don't trust each other. That's why the turnover rate is so high.
