Maybe it makes you feel smart to say "peer reviewed scholarly journals" but such publications are for theoretical exploration of subjects, usually scientific in nature, that are yet to be decided upon. That are up for debate. They are the presentation of data analysis from a specific vantage. The news isn't reported that way. History isn't often recorded that way. If the FBI says that they were in possession of a laptop in 2019, that they obtained said laptop directly from a Delaware repairman, and if this is then reported, that doesn't have to be "peer reviewed."
