Not odd at all. Many do not want to be held accountable, they want to skate like they have been for years. No more.

    It grows soooo old. sleep2

Sen. Barry Goldwater (R-AZ) and his acceptance speech at the Republican National Convention in 1964. Then-Democratic governor of California, Edmund Gerland “Pat” Brown, remarked about Goldwater’s acceptance speech, claiming it “had the stench of fascism. All we needed to hear was Heil Hitler.”

The then-mayor of San Francisco, the city where the 1964 Republican National Convention was held, said the GOP “had Mein Kampf as their political bible.”

--a political poster featured an image of Adolf Hitler, wearing a Nazi armband, holding a mask of Nixon.

“If [President] Ford’s principle had been the rule in Nuremberg,” he said, “the Nazi leaders would have been let off, and only the people, who carried out their schemes, would have been tried,” the ACLU said at the time.

Rep. William Clay (D-MO) stated that Reagan wanted to “replace the Bill of Rights with fascist precepts lifted verbatim from Mein Kampf.”

Bush was regularly called every dirty name in the book, from racist to Nazi to fascist to war criminal. There are many examples of linking Bush to Hitler, Nazis, and fascists.

In 2012, Sen. Mitt Romney (R-UT), the same Romney so many Democrats love today, was also linked to Nazis and fascism. One delegate from Kansas (at the time) said Romney was a habitual liar and likened him to Hitler “while criticizing the accuracy of Romney’s campaign talking points.”

A chairman of the California Democratic Party compared then-vice presidential candidate (and eventual former Speaker of the House) Paul Ryan, again, the same Ryan loved by many Democrats today, to Nazi filmmaker and propagandist Joseph Goebbels.

    @UNIMAN

Yessir.  It makes you wonder how gullible and low-intelligent that they truly believe their base is.

When you have to run a 'fear-based' campaign against your opponents instead of on what you are going to do yourself then it will always be a bad look.

It is not about that as much as which candidate is ONLY running a few-based campaign.

Right and that is where the partisan glasses are used. I see Trump exclusively running the fear and meandering campaign, that is all he has. So you are right, ONE is doing just that and it is Trump. When someone does not have a platform or depth and uses lies and insults as a narrative, that is a fear based campaign.

Of course you are partisan and you think it is Harris, I at least see more of a roadmap and structure to her campaign versus the thanksgiving dinner yammering which is Trump.

Who is using a fake illegals destroying your life as 100% of the voice to their voter base? Who is using lies about life being so horrible for the last four years?

Ive owned property over a long period of time and my house has gone up in value more during the last four years than any four year period of my life. The SPX was at 3700 in 2021 and is at 5800 now, this is in the face of higher interest rates than no president has experienced since Carter. I just filled up gas yesterday it was at 3 bucks a gallon .

If the entire substance of your campaign media message is that life is worse (which is isnt) and that illegals are taking your job and wrecking your life, what do you call that?

No, you do not 'see Trump exclusively' doing that.

    an_roll_laugh

You are simply blinded by your hatred for the man.

To be honest, you lost all credibility about Trump a long time ago.

    peace_5

But the point of this is Harris and the Democrats running a fear-based campaign.  Of course, it is Harris.

At least Trump has the sense to mention how well the economy and the world was doing when he was in charge.  That is NOT fear-based, unless you want to say he is trying to scare the folks into thinking the Democrats cannot do what he did.  You might be right about that.

But at least he is pointing out good things and positive things he wants to do if he gets back in office.

Harris cannot point to anything good or anything positive that she would do.  She cannot differeniate herself from Biden and his losing policies.

Therefore, she only resorts to fear and scare tactics.

As, was pointed out above, the Democrats have been using the Fascist terminology and running campaigns on reductio ad Hitlerum since WWII.

Then they are using the SS scare tactic again, the dividing of 'rich' for 'not paying their fair share of taxes, the fear of women being forced to 'die' in childbirth, the fear of parents being separated from their kids.

The new bogeyman of course is the project 2025 nonsense, which Trump has nothing to do with.

Now, Harris is saying that 'Trump wants total power'.

None of these things your guys are trying to scare the folks with have ever happened and will not happen.

No one is trying to do way with SS -- but you guys keep pushing this scare tactic.

There is no way Trump tried to be a dictator before and will not again.  There are far more than enough checks and balances built into the Federalist system for that to happen.

Yet, they continue to use this scare-tactic.

    Like one guy put it:

They can give all kinds of reasons to hate Trump and not vote for him but they can't give ONE good reason why to vote for Harris other than she is not Trump.

It is very sad they have to resort to this; but far sadder that you guys continue to fall for it.

What is 'fake' about them.  It is NOT a 'scare-tactic' IF it is true and can be shown to be true.

If the entire substance of your campaign media message is that life is worse

Well, overwhelmingly the folks disagree with you and say they are worse off.

Again, it is NOT a scare tactic to point it out.

Especially , if you follow it up with how you will get it back to where it was when they felt they were better off.

Just because you are now 'used' to $3 gas and cumulative inflation does not mean it is right and has to be that way.

A lot of folks disagree with you and wish things were better for them financially.  That is why the Economy and inflation are two of the top issues, as is the 'fake' illegals issue.

    @Raiders22

It is a fear based approach, life is not worse four years ago that is a fear based lie. There are MANY aspects of the economy, the markets, the lives of citizens that are dramatically better than under Trump. I am a citizen and I am in the economy, I am a homeowner and an investor and I purchase goods and services. People will lap up whatever they are told as they want to follow the narrative given to them to support their political agenda and opinions. So you say it is true, what is true about it and given that our political system is pretty near at gridlock how can you point that the POTUS is directly responsible for any of the fear and loathing that you attribute to Biden? You cannot. It is fake and fear based and a marketing ploy. I never try to point to a single person or group when our economy is based on capitalism and our political process is almost squarely on a split party to party.

Gas was much higher than 3 bucks under Trump, plus is that the tool you want to use? Do you want fracking or do you want 2 buck gas? Which is your choice because you cannot have both. Do you want to nationalize production, take over distribution and disallow export of gas products? Do you really want low gas and if so what are you willing to do to get it? You cannot frack and have low gas prices, the cost of production for those marginal PA frackers is too high, the little guy made in USA fracker cannot produce at gas under 3 bucks and survive, especially with HIGH RATES to borrow and fund operations.

Food inflation we can talk until the hens come home, that is not a Biden issue nor is it your flim flam money supply and government spending excuses either, you might use that as a crutch and an excuse to validate your hatred of Biden and your choice to vote for Trump but the data does not support this conclusion, you cannot extrapolate the marginal increase in government spending and the immediate and dramatic increase in food inflation, the flow through in a capitalism economy you cannot extrapolate spending to create inflation as you are suggesting, the numbers do not work and you have no historic data to support this in any length of time. Trump ran massive deficits but it did not generate inflation, Obama and Bush ran massive deficits and it did not generate CPI inflation, there is no economic support to the contention of a marginal increase in spending and an immediate and dramatic increase in CPI inflation.

Food inflation is still supply chain and greed based and that is why you are not seeing a fast drop in food based inflation. Harris or Trump in the seat with rates up here you will not see a drop in food inflation, until corps can increase supply or demand declines dramatically prices will have absolutely no chance at dropping.

And no mention of Hatians eating the pets or that the Hatians and illegals are taking ALL OF THE US JOBS created per Trump.

Too many people simply disagree with you. BUT either way this is NOT Trump's main campaign item.

The negative part is very much a huge part of the Harris campaign -- that is the point.

It does not matter that your home is worth more.  No one should look at their home as an investment anyway.  That is where you live -- it it goes up in value fine.  That never ever matters unless you are planning too sell it.  The you have to find an affordable house to buy.

The average person does not care that you are happy that home prices have skyrocketed in the last few years.

IF ANYTHING that is a BAD thing to point out.  Now folks have a harder time finding an affordable house -- especially folks just starting out.

That is not a good thing for Harris to run on at all.

Not enough people invest in the stock market for that to matter either.  The average person is NOT investing other than, maybe, a 401k that they will not see for 40 years.

The stock market is not a good thing for Harris to bring up either.  IT is always going up and has very little to do with the average person and their cost of living and concerns with the economy and inflation.

So, neither of those matter -- You can say that they are fake.

BUT what you cannot say is fake is what the people are saying about the issues that do matter to them.

THAT is where Harris should be addressing the issues and NOT just using the fear-based tactics about Trump.

All Trump has to do is keep saying what he is saying -- remember how much better you felt in the pocketbook when I was in office?  That is far more positive than what Harris is doing.

Just going around calling someone 'unhinged, dictate, Hitler, fascist, etc. -- That is just about as negative as it gets.  Plus, all without being belt to address any question at all on any issue -- including the pilfered stances she has tried to take lately.

Nonsense.  You can use it if you like.  It is still a losing proposition to take though.

Food inflation we can talk until the hens come home, that is not a Biden issue

As I have repeatedly explained to you -- this is NOT the issue.  The issue is who is in office when things happen that are bad -- or good.

Biden was in office -- he, therefore, has to take the blame.  He had 4 years to do better in the areas he knew the folks had concerns about -- he did not.

So, by association, Harris is also blamed.  Then when she cannot answer a single question without talking derisively about Trump, it is a very bad look.  The same thing you and all of the Left do.  Very few can talk about the issue and what they plan to do instead of just saying they are not Trump.

She cannot even separate her own ideas from Biden's.  They are ASKING her to do that and making it an open-ended question -- AND she still cannot do it WITHOUT being negative about Trump.

The Left is the true 'unhinged' and they demonstrate it every day by trying this lame tactic.

    @wallstreetcappers

An easier way to look at it is to simply look at the Harris campaign and parse out the positive and the negative.

She is, by far, running a much more fear-based campaign.

That is my point.  All of the attempts to try to discuss the issues does not change that fact.

THAT, however, is exactly what she should be trying to do.

She cannot discuss anything -- therefore, she defaults to the negative and that she is not Trump.

The negative part is very much a huge part of the Harris campaign -- that is the point.

You say but do not define..

My house is the largest spend in my life and is no question the largest investment most people have.

Absolutely I did.  Look at all of the adjectives I used that she and everyone on the Left uses.  Look at ANY of her ads during the football games today.

My house is the largest spend in my life and is no question the largest investment most people have.

This is a mistake most people make.  You are not in the business of flipping houses.

You should never realize this 'investment' unless you sell it.  You are not living off of this 'investment', it is not rented out and will not generate you any dividends.

Then IF you do sell you will be using a large portion of that to buy another house.  It will only benefit you if you are downsizing or selling in an overinflated market or area and then waiting to buy in a 'crash' or in a deflated area.

Very, very rarely is someone going to realize this to a degree that makes it a great investment if they are simply 'moving across the street'.

People NEED to realize what true investments are and use them like that.  Then live in the house and if it goes up in value when you sell, fine.

But people should never say their house is worth a million dollars, so, they are in theory a millionaire.  It does not work that way -- you have to live somewhere.  So, a chunk of that money will have to go to the next house.  Unless, you are in the real estate business, etc.

This is a huge pet peeve of mine when people count this as a true investment.  Yes, you are 'investing' your money in a place to live; but you are not truly 'investing' in the true sense.

    @Raiders22

Huh? People make a mistake thinking a house is an investment and that it has value? Ok you can go with that but history proves you wrong 100%.

My inlaws passed away a few years ago and were life long workers, lived tight and raised a family, retirement investment etc etc and yet their largest holding of value was their house..so say what you want with that wonky logic and say people are flawed for thinking their homes are an investment, I dont even know where you are going with this tangent but lets just say facts and figures prove this concept you are oddly making as false.

My mother growing up bought a house for like 3000 and now that same house is worth 700k, so I guess she should not have thought of the house as an investment and having enormous value because Raiders says so...

    Gotcha..

Huh? People make a mistake thinking a house is an investment and that it has value?

Investment, no sir.  Of course it has value.

But people should not be thinking of their house that they live in -- and plan to stay in for a while -- as an investment.

The true investment is when you get the house paid off and no longer have the payment.

Investments are the things outside of your house that you use to grow your wealth and plan for retirement.

Correct, the house they bought to live in was not an investment no matter what it was worth when they died.

Now for the kids it is an 'investment' of sorts.

BUT unless your ENTIRE plan was to buy a house -- say in a brand-new developing area -- BECAUSE you knew it would go up in value MORE than the standard rise in housing.  Then, NO, it should not be viewed as an investment.

    It has value, sure.

But the true 'investment' will show up once you get the house paid for and can do something more useful with the cash to really invest and use the money.

You cannot live in a house and use the 'investment' part of it.

Then 'tangent' part was just that this is a pet-peeve from an investor's viewpoint with me.

The underlying issue was that most average folks are not gleeful that housing prices shot up so much that they can no longer afford hosing that they want.

You said it like it was great for everyone -- it is not.  For exactly the investment versus value issue I pointed out.

Maybe this will help you understand why I tell people this:

    https://www.moneyunder30.com/why-your-house-is-not-an-investment/

A house has a more important primary purpose

Probably the single biggest reason why a house is not an investment is that its primary purpose is providing you with a place to live. So, it’s not something you can really do without — like a company stock or a share of a mutual fund, for example.

A house can only be an investment if you plan to sell it

True, houses generally increase in value over time, but the only way to profit from that increase is to sell them. A sale needs to happen for a gain to be realized.

However, selling your house means you’ll have to find another place to live.

So, you’ll have to use some — if not all — of the equity you obtain from your sale to fund that purchase.

If that’s the case, your equity is “trapped,” which means you won’t make a profit, unless you downgrade to a less expensive house,

    @wallstreetcappers

There are also many, many places that explain why it is also a 'bad' investment.

These things, coupled with what people need to be doing for true investing is why I say that.

Hopefully, some of those will help you see why experts say this.

New Wars, ( that's plural by the way), inflation,  and a border crisis.

None of this was happening 4 years ago, so  Take off those partisan glasses.  Those are facts that can't be disputed
