Look, I hate China. I see them as our enemy, as every American should. I have no issue with any sitting president drawing battle lines but you can't have it both ways. Now, as in 2017, liberals act as if putting tariffs on Chinese exports is/was the worst thing that can happen. "It's essentially a tax on Americans," we heard. "You don't want to upset China," we heard. Meanwhile, for this entire time, we have been locked in a chip war with China that also involves Taiwan, which China views as their territory. Biden chose to escalate said chip war without any back up plan for the eventual ramifications. We are starting to see the fallout. This isn't cheap, Chinese made Amazon goods costing a buck more we are talking about. Rare earth minerals are essential to just about anything electronic. Not just your cellphone and TV. Defense systems. And China is the world leader in rare earth mineral mining, including owning mineral rights in other countries. The chickens are coming home to roost.

That is not the point he is making, why comment like this when you know 100% what his reference point really is? Trump had and has a tariff policy as he was in office and his policy seems pretty similar to what it was before.
To me the end consumer is the one who pays these tariffs, the end consumer is almost always the toll payer and this is no different.
