trump's BROKEN word & promises

Must be dozens of FAILURES to keep his word by now.

This thread will not be limited to those times where trump used the
specific words "I promise" but rather anytime he said he WOULD DO
something or  make something happen, or made a statement that he
intended to do something......but in all cases he failed to follow through.


I will start it off with these easy to remember FAILED intentions:

- repeal Obama care and replace with a super-duper awesome better plan! (he's done NEITHER; was supposed to announce an awesome plan on Monday but...)

- "a big beautiful WALL from sea-to-sea" and "Mexico WILL PAY FOR IT!" (only a few miles of new wall and *WE* are paying for it)

- that US economy would boom at 3% or 4% or 5% GDP EVERY YEAR! (nope!)

- that once he takes office he would become "more presidential" (hahahahahahahahaha!)

- that he would be so busy making "deals" and working his ass off for America he "wouldn't have time for GOLF!"  (failed)

- that he was bringing back the coal mines and get all the coal workers back to work (nope!)

** He promised that the average family would see a $4,000 pay raise because of
his new tax law. ( But real wages for most Americans are lower today than
they were before the tax law went into effect!!)

Everything Trump says he will do is to take place in 2 weeks just like his Healthcare plan promise. Here are a few other classics...

5/1/17 his Infrastructure plan would be ready in 2 weeks.

5/21/17 his plan to destroy ISIS.

7/25/18 his plan to bring women unemployment to the lowest in history.

4/20/20 his plan for drive thru covid testing.

7/1/20 his plan to increase the minimum wage.

He promised to rid DC of lobbyists, he's dismantled environmental protections, he's allowed companies to classify workers as "independent contractors" to exclude them from federal protection laws and on and on and on.  

Downplayed the pandemic, called concerns about it a hoax

Told states to open before it was safe to do so, to promote Trump's political interests

Tried to influence the election by saying mail-in ballots are fine in a state with a Republic governor but not in blue states.

Reassigned a key manager responsible for vaccine development because he exposed the dangers of hydroxychloroquine.

Attacked government scientists for trying to save lives, triggering chanting by angry mobs & threats against them.

Told officials to slow down the COVID testing.

Interfered in prosecutions to help Trump allies.

Threatened to investigate those who offend Trump.

Attacked the press with unprecedented vigor.

Removed data from CDC's website.

Told us to take the dangerous drug hydroxychloroquine.

Suggested that bleach 'n light might save us from covid.

Lied about the pandemic response.

Told roughly 20,000 documented false statements and outright lies.

Failed to track the whereabouts of children taken away from their parent.

Attacked American businesses whose leaders displease Trump and promoted those whose leaders support him.

Told China its concentration camps were fine.

Refused to respond to Russian bounties on US soldiers.

Covered up the Saudi murder of Khashoggi, while these regimes were either Trump's customers or his potential election-interference benefactors.

Retaliated against whistle blowers/witnesses.

Investigated those who investigated Trump.

Said "flipping almost ought to be illegal.

Extorted a foreign power to interfere in our elections.

Publicly encouraged two other foreign powers to interfere in our election.

Fought tooth & nail against document requests from the public and from Congress.

Brought foreign leaders and administration officials to Trump's resorts for some publicly funded advertising.

Refused to release its dubious contracts with individuals like vaccine Czar Slaoui.

Proposed holding the G7 Summit at one of Trump's private resorts.

Discussed holding part of the RNC convention at the White House.

Touted Trump's properties.

Appointed officials who violate ethics rules repeatedly.

Told us COVID "is what it is."

And some of you in here want to give this POS 4 more years???

You'd rather have Biden?

Of course they do!

And for one reason and one reason only:  "hees da guy whuts on da republican ballot"

And besides, he promises to protect "Yo-sim-might" national park....or whatever

Adding:

- he promised to shoulder the blame for the record 35 days Gov't shutdown -- then a few days later heaped ALL THE BLAME on the Democrats.

- he promised to put an end to "chain migration" -- but in 2018 he welcomed Melania's parents to emigrate to America from Slovenia (formerly the communist-ruled country, Yugoslavia)

Well, as a non-partisan, Moderate/Independent, I don't have a dog in this fight.

But given the choice between:

Joe Biden (8 yrs VP helping the greatest economic turnaround since 1930s; an actual Christian;
knows how to pronounce "Yosemite National Park")

...or...

donald "Dr.Bleach" trump (IMPEACHED for treason!!; "virulent racist"; fake University fraud/scammer;
record for documented LIES; 14.7% unemployment; record budget deficits; 158,250 dead on his watch)

I gotta vote the former, if for no better reason than to keep the Disaster-in-Chief out of office
for an even worse record-breaking disaster than he's already created thus far.

Adding:

** He told you he’d cut YOUR taxes, AND, that the super-rich like him WOULD PAY MORE.

But his 2017 tax law has done the opposite!!
By 2027, according to the nonpartisan Tax Policy Center, the richest 1% will have
received 83% of the tax cut and the richest 0.1 percent, 60% of it.
But more than half of all Americans — 53% — will pay more in taxes!

As Trump told his wealthy friends at Mar-a-Lago just days after the tax bill
became law, “You all just got a lot richer.”

adding:

trump PROMISED to close "special interest" loopholes that have been 
so good for Wall Street investors but unfair to American workers,
especially the notorious “carried interest” loophole for private-equity,
hedge fund, and real estate partners.

But his new tax law kept that “carried interest” loophole.

Another broken promise

Adding:

**He DID PROMISE to release his tax returns a couple of times, and specifically, in a nationally televised debate, he altered his PROMISE a little and stated that he would "release his returns IF HE WON THE PRESIDENCY"

While it's true there is no LAW that says he MUST - only established precedent and transparency - that's not the point.

trump *LIED*.....and so: Another broken promise.

** He promised to bring an end to Kim Jong-Un’s nuclear program. 

Kim Jong-Un has NOT denuclearized.  

** trump PROMISED to protect anyone with pre-existing conditions.

But in June, his Justice Department told a federal court it would no longer defend provisions of Obamacare that protect patients with pre-existing conditions. Attorney General Jeff Sessions said the decision was made with Trump’s approval.

Hey Mugg...how do you support a man who stole money from a charity for children with cancer?

Is that how you roll?

**trump said he’d "drain the Washington swamp."

But he’s brought into his administration more billionaires, CEOs, and Wall Street moguls
than in any administration in history, to make laws that will enrich their businesses,
and he’s filled departments and agencies with former lobbyists, lawyers and consultants
who are crafting new policies for the same industries they recently worked for.

The JULY jobs report comes out on Friday, August 7.

Personally I expect it is BAD NEWS....but I believe it WILL NOT be shown that way.

I believe the bad news will be altered to appear GOOD.  No way to prove my "opinion" of course.

Nevertheless I am fairly certain that despite the fact there was a major reversal of covid-19 cases, hospitalizations and deaths in mid-July with no significant improvements in the economy or hiring reported, somehow, the stats we will be shown will paint a rosy picture......Watch.

** trump PROMISED to re-institute a five-year ban on all executive branch officials
lobbying the government for five years after they leave government.”

But the five-year ban he signed applies only to lobbying one’s former agency, NOT
the government as a whole, and it doesn’t stop former officials from becoming lobbyists.

 It's simple.........I don't. But anyone that thinks Biden is the answer to their problems is insane.

 Do you support the racist, sex offender Biden? Is that how you roll?

As far as I can tell from conversations with people I know on the left as well as my
moderate colleagues - plus the perponderance of surveys showing the responses from
MODERATES and INDEPENDENTS (ie. not party-partisans), very few if any of them
actually believe Joe Biden "is the answer" ...... Not at all !

But it is apparent among NON-partisans, that of the two FLAWED candidates
for president, donald "Dr.Bleach" trump is the WORSE of the two!

Even many of the PARTISAN Democrats are going to hold their collective noses
when they cast a vote for Joe Biden -- just like they did voting for Hillary.
Because the alternative (trump) is an even worse choice!

Say what you want about the FLAWED Joe Biden -- hell I would even AGREE
with most of it -- but that still doesn't change the bottom line!

And, NEVER in the history of US presidential politics has there ever been so many
members of the incumbents OWN PARTY actively engaged in thwarting his re-election!

Given the choice between a poor candidate (Biden) and an "even worse" candidate (trump)
the choice is clear to those of us who DO NOT WEAR PARTISAN BLINDERS.

** trump said he’d use his business experience to whip the White House into shape.

But he has created the most dysfunctional, back-stabbing White House
in modern history, and has already fired and replaced so many assistants
that people there barely know who’s in charge of what.
