Tariffs have nothing to do with Germans freezing this winter because they will not receive gas from Russia. It looks like I need to start teaching basic current affairs classes inside the politics forum of Covers! Alex jones is alive and well!

@UNIMAN
I notice you didn't bash the guy who f*cked your retirement(until I brought up reagan),and I never see you bash trump(unless somebody brings it to your attention).But your always on here bashing anything democrats do that effects you negatively.You say there's many things you don't like about reagan and trump,but you only mention them,when confronted about what republicans do,by somebody else.I personally didn't like Carter when I was young,but now that I'm older and have heard him explain why he did what he did in iran,I respect the decisions that he chose.He knew he would suffer consequences in the next election,but making sure no more Americans died,was more important to him then winning the election,or how he was gonna be perceived by others.
I don't pretend to know whats going on in math in other parts of the US,but I do know they are still teaching math where I'm from,contrary to your statement "that in this country they don't teach math".

Don't even bother, it's fruitless. These people are beyond help. They are walking clueless dead.
Tariffs??? Just so sad how disoriented they are.

It is not all that difficult to identify how this unfolded, if you were paying attention when Covid was unfolding and our inventories of goods and services was still strong and prices were not getting wrecked yet, there were businesses in the tech space that gave a strong red alert warning about what was coming, but few paid attention. Intel has a huge footprint in my area and my neighbor works for them over twenty years, Intel made comments way back about supply chain issues forming and that it would damage their JIT model for a long long time. Nobody paid attention to the message being delivered, that supply chain has many many moving parts some are large some are small but all are needed to function a JIT business model and economy. The small supplier of certain parts can stop a business cold in their tracks because they dont hold inventory and that happens because they want to save costs and maximize capital, but when a component or two is missing the whole game ends. There is a book I read in college while taking an econ class and it was about JIT inventory models and all parts have to be functioning separately to make the entire system work and if not then JIT theory breaks down each component and identifies it then you can fix the issue, but the flaws are that if you cannot fix the issue then everything breaks.
The reason we had this rampant inflation GLOBALLY is because nobody carries inventory and supply chain issues are very very difficult to fix, if you follow in depth news articles you have seen that components of agriculture are missing and with those being missing (fertilizer, chemicals etc) then our farming capacity is reduced and that impacts costs and supply for most all the economy, oil ramped up from a combination of Russia and also how many fringe players got shut down when oil dropped and that has rippled through the complex and oil supply is low. With high oil that also impacts many petro products, not just gas and crude oil but plastics, chemicals etc and that causes inflation.
It is going to take a LONG time to fix the supply chain if at all and also less people are wanting to do farming and industrial work, that causes a labor shortage and that causes inflation.
Blaming a single political party for a supply chain failure and deep theory breakdown is stupid, if you could isolate ONE area while everything else was fine, MAYBE it is partisan but the entire world is in an inflation alert, this is not about Biden or libs or anything remotely close to it. Even if the government were to toss a T at it, the time it would take to cycle through is going to be easily another two years.

@BigGame90
China is STILL in Covid mode, they are and have been much more draconian than the US was, I think the rim countries were more lockdown than the US and Europe and that is where many of the parts parts parts companies are, the ones that make components of a part that goes with a part that you might not ever hear of but without that itsy bitsy component the bigger part cannot be made.
Fertilizer and chemicals used for AG is not a big US produced item either, this is a world event not a Biden Trump event, if not then try to isolate the inflation and show where everywhere else it is NOT an issue. It is an issue everywhere, it has little to nothing to do with one politician or agenda. If it were that easy to manipulate dont you think the FED would have drummed up some inflation over the last twenty years? They threw all they had at trying to make inflation happen and it never did...this is 100% supply driven and it wont end quickly. What will happen is comparables will be better but that is because comps are a rolling 12 months but it doesnt mean prices are dropping rather that the rate of increase might be slowing.
This is stagflation...

Other countries would be lucky to have US problems. According to World economic forum, US inflation has been lower and economic recovery stronger than in many countries in recent years.

The same China that has a social credit system that issues a rating for individuals on how well they obey? The same China that looks up people that speak against their "leaders"? Man, one damn bat messed a lot of shit up. Or was it the wet market that caused all this? The same wet markets that still function today. But hey, at least bad orange man is not in office for 4 more years, amirite? Here's $1,600 bucks, everything will be alright. Stay home from work for 6 months, don't interact with others, be afraid of everyone, wear a mask, even when you shower or there's nobody around for a half mile, get quadruple boosted so we can get those shot usage numbers up, we got some drug company stocks to pump n dump before we destroy the world economy. Get the shot and you'll be fine. Don't forget to charge your electric vehicle, but not in the summers or else we're gonna shut down your electrify for a day or two. Rant over.

So you're saying inflation isn't only affecting the US?
Strange.
To hear the MAGA idiots tell it, it is only affecting the US, and therefore it is all Joe Biden's fault.

i am confident that worldwide inflation , like we have now , among a wide number of consumer goods and services has multiple contributors
specifically in the us chumps tariffs absolutely contributed to it to a significant extent as u have accurately laid out backed up with sources . surely only a fool would doubt that as a major contributor .
but its not the only one
there r all the other contributing factors making it worse such as pandemic itself, supply chain issues resulting from the pandemic that chump downplayed and allowed to sweep into our nation , the war in europe that putin started , the creed of OPEC cartel , and others

Oh I agree that it’s not all Chump’s fault, but I do believe that he started the inflation snowball rolling down the mountain with his tariffs against numerous countries, and his other harebrained economic policies. Once the snowball got rolling with the tariffs, then you throw on his flawed tax plan, coupled with threats against Jerome Powell prepandemic. Now add on his deficit spending and then Covid, and the pandemic aggravation of supply chain issues. Add a war or two on top and we now have a full on avalanche.
Tariffs and the subsequent retaliatory tariffs impact countries on all sides of the equation by increasing everyone’s costs. Trump never cared enough to understand that.

I agree, I was hoping Biden would undo the tariffs and the SALT tax cap first thing in 2021. Unfortunately he has disappointed on both fronts.
