Soooo in the effort to prove Vin Scully wrong, someone please list all the countries where Socialism is so successful.... I'll wait.

The bottom line is Scully was right. No matter how much socialism you have you will always have rich and powerful people on the top. The difference is we have a huge middle class. And no matter how you define middle, or even poor, in this country, we consider televisions, cable, cell/smart phones as necessities.

Picture a pyramid. I would rather be part of the American pyramid than a pyramid from any other country.

Ask the people that come from these third world hellholes where its better at. They'll be happy to tell you what its like. Only an absolute uneducated moron would want Socialism.

Full-blown socialism is not viable in the United States but neither is full-blown capitalism.  Right now the system we have produces a lot of losers and a few winners.  You're told to get a good education, enter a field of need and once you've gotten a good job, you'll be able to sustain yourself and have a quality life.

The reality is most people are forced to plunge themselves into debt to afford college, 50 to 100 people often apply for 1 position and the losers are forced to settle for something that isn't quite on the same level.  The industries are saturated with too many applicants and not enough quality jobs.  Over 60% of Americans have $1,000 or less in their savings accounts for any emergency that might come up, which is rather telling as well.

I happen to have no debt and no mortgage but that is not the reality for most Americans.  Most of them are poor, in debt and barely make their ends meet.  I think that people still misunderstand Bernie's popularity.  Free college is only part of what appealed to voters.  (Tennessee's governor put into place an interesting program that is a decent starting point) Economic viability for the average person is really what his campaign was all about. 

Now what integration of socialism and capitialism ends up being the right amount for everyone?  I can't say with any certainy but I am fairly sure that the current model in place for Americans will continue to be under scrutiny
