Pfizer No booster Covid 4 months after, High Fever & throat that burned like fire!

Well I feel fine ! All my numbers are fairly well within the parameters except a ldl total of 190 the last 2 tests which sooner or later needs to be addressed…..Maybe tomorrow! Ribeyes or a prime rib is hard to pass up for a salad or fish !

Almost everyone I know who got vaccinated still got covid, myself included. I know what people will say. "...but they didn't get as sick." There's no way to prove this though. I won't say that the vaccine(s) were a scam but the economic shutdown definitely was a scam.

As far as the lockdowns they just didn't have a handle on this virus. Two weeks to flatten the curve was stupid in hindsight. Trying to stop or eliminate the spread was futile also unless you were an island nation. Better off protecting the vulnerable groups.
IMO, the vaccine turned out to be another flu shot, boosted immunity for about 4 months and targeted one variant.

I agree.. In retrospect, doing this and "not" shutting down the economy would have been a better option IMO. And coming up w/ terms like "essential workers" to justify who can/can't work was just dumb.

My prediction is that the next pandemic “ Hopefully there is none “ will result in fewer hard restrictions than Covid did, but plausibly better and more useful precautions by many people. Like, people who care about prevention will probably immediately go to masks for anything vaguely respiratory instead of wasting months sanitizing surfaces and putting up plexiglass screens.
What worries me is that with the increasing distrust of scientists and experts (often among the same “but mah freedoms!” people), and even if the health crisis was alien chest-bursters, with a 100% mortality rate and an obvious transmission we’d still have a large proportion of Americans who would insist it was either (a) a complete hoax, or (b) not that bad.

On your first point, let's hope our federal and state governments have learned a very hard lesson.
On your second point, that distrust has been "earned" by the stupid decision-making from the scientific community during the pandemic. I for one lost a lot of respect for our health administrations during the pandemic. Example: Anthony Fauci & Debra Birx did immense damage to our society by their recommended shutdowns and "bend the curve" nonsense that became part of our vocabulary. They reacted to the pandemic as if society lived in a "bubble." This wasn't reality , and all were ill-prepared for the Pandemic... The NIH, FDA, CDC,... all big disappointments to say the least !! So, yes, people should have a distrust of these organizations. Their actions shaped people's confidence (or lack of confidence).

Not a chance. If anything the Left will double down next time. If one suspects that the next time would be different they would have to admit they were wrong this time the way it was handled — not a one of them has done this.
The average person does not distrust ‘experts or science’. If anything they blindly believe them.
Everywhere I go I still see folks wearing masks, even if they are out alone.
This is the case with any issue. Look at how much the average person overrates how critical climate change is compared to things we could actually fix right away and cheaper. Just as one example.
People lack critical thinking skills and are too lazy to research — so, they believe the Media and ‘experts’.
I see no reason they would not trust them and follow along the next time.

In many countries, Pew research found that most people generally view favorably their country's response to the pandemic. However there was deep political division which undermine pandemic response especially in the US. American public health experts try to adopt similar policies as other countries but US under performed because of widespread distrust. In 2020, best performing countries act fast, adjust policies as data changes and suppress virus spread when there was no vaccine. In 2021, best countries maximize vaccination of population. Hopefully, US learn the right lessons for the next pandemic.

At what juncture in time ? I guess that's the question. Certainly, nobody on earth had gone through what we went through, and if they were alive, they were in their sunset years and not in a government capacity. You would be hard pressed to find someone that doubted the decisions in those first few weeks...
"Everybody" in the first couple of weeks of the pandemic (and I'm sure you , too) deferred to the medical experts. "Everybody" was on board w/ living in a box... for a few weeks...
You have to remember that even our President deferred to the medical experts for the correct path.
Our medical "Experts" did our society a tremendous disservice, and what's most troubling is that they took their cues from China on how to handle this !

No sir. This is not completely true. A lot of us were saying this more or less from the very beginning. It was only after it was becoming more and more evident that they were not working that more folks were getting on board. But the overwhelming majority of the folks went along with it even after it was evident they were not working. That is my main point.
This is not just medical experts that were saying this. As it turns out I am an expert of sorts in related fields and I wrote and spoke on this extensively early on. You can go back and search some of the medical experts that were questioning the reasoning behind this. Other experts were advising that the longterm affects would be drastic and long-lasting.
This is another example of folks being suppressed by the Media and the Left. Some of the suppression was just not publishing or interviewing the experts that disagreed with or questioned the pushed narrative; some of it was more drastic to the point of banning them on social media and threatening them, etc.
All of this you can find online from early 2020 -- even from when talk of this was going on when these were first proposed.
I am not even talking about just in the USA. But by the time the USA decided to do this they knew the target group to protect and instead ignored the evidence and science and the experts on this. This was flat-out done intentionally and it played out in real time for sure.

To say 'nobody on Earth had gone through what we went through' is not completely true. We had studies and evidence on Flus before and how they work. We had studies on pandemics. Yes, the last major one this similar was before we were born. But many major Flu outbreaks have happened since and some quite deadly and some with not nearly an exact target group.
I get your main point and not totally disagreeing except to say that is one of the major 'points' the Media, the Left, and the 'experts' used as a reason to lock down.
Certainly with the Asian Flu, Hong Kong Flu, Avian Flu, or H1N1 they did not have the social media influence but were all very similar and gave many indications of how another should be handled. All situations are dynamic and can be fluid -- SARS, MERS, Ebola, Wuhan -- and should be handled in various ways. But to say this was totally new is not completely looking at the truth.
I am not disagreeing with the extent; I am simply pointing out that, by and large, we knew better how to handle this early on.

Perhaps we disagreeing over, a few weeks/months ? ... In a country that has a 3-letter acronym for a variety of Health agencies alone... And this is what gets me so upset... "We knew better how to handle this early on. "
Our medical experts failed us, and I think this is shared by so many folks like me.
I think it's cavalier to say we knew this all along, but after the first few weeks w/ continued " bend the curve" nonsense, the people of this country rose up and said we can conduct our own affairs in the most difficult predicament possible. I applaud those that are speaking out against our health community. They deserve the pushback from the community at large..

All I would like to say about this is: Who cares what 'most people' think? The average person is not an expert, does not have the ability to critically think or listen to opposing experts and digest what they hear, or is too lazy to research anything on their own.
That is the main reason 'most people' went along with this bad plan.
'Other countries' is too vague. What should the USA have done that Italy or Spain, for example, did? Let all of their old people just die off? What about the countries that did not do anything and fared better than any other countries? What about the countries that went to lockdowns so early and still got waves of the Wuhan Flu that came through and killed so many? Which countries with obese, elderly, or folks with other issues are you comparing the USA to? Nigeria, Haiti, Egypt? Or maybe the UK, Italy, Brazil, Chile?
Some of those countries that did nothing and fared better, some did way more and fared as bad or worse, some did the same things and did better -- or worse. Some the waves hit earlier and some hit later. The countries that the waves hit later and did worse than the USA -- what do you say about them? Some of them had lockdowns way earlier and way harsher lockdowns than the USA did.
This is another example of you quoting a tidbit just to support your political viewpoints. This should never have been political; the Left just controls the Media and therefore the narrative and were wrong on this and refuse to admit it.
Now they do like you just did and drag out a news clip that you think supports your side. Go get some of the more recent SCIENTIFIC studies that are finally being published by the media that show how these lockdowns did nothing to prevent the spread of the Wuhan Flu and are still having enormous impacts elsewhere in society still.

I understand how you feel that way, I really do. It is not your fault to not know any better. You were not given the information. I am talking about the experts that knew better and were suppressed by the Media and the Left, very early on.
Yes. As time went on reasonable people figured it out on their own -- but not because they were exposed to experts opposing the lockdowns. They thought ALL experts agreed on this.
For sure, this was in the first stages and when the lockdowns were first proposed.
This is just an amplified example of anything the Left and the Media get together and decide to push. When they are wrong, they double down and refuse to see opposing views or evidence. You see this with regular cultural issues -- whether abortion, transgender movement; with political issues -- whether illegals, crime. So, why would scientific issues be any different? They ignore the science and evidence they disagree with on all of the above issues -- so why not on a flu? You can do this with any issue, the Wuhan Flu just amplified how easily they can do this. You can see it with 'Man Made Global Warming' -- no matter what evidence you show them, or question theirs, they ignore it and double down on their faulty plans to further an agenda. Wuhan Flu was an ideal excuse for them to do it and regular folks did not know any better early on but to go along -- due to the way the other experts were suppressed.

Somewhere in the Reagan era the seed of division took root between parties and has got to the point that everything is political and if a elected doesn’t take rank and file position he or she stand to be on the outside looking in!

Canadian medical association warns against lockdown revisionism that damage public trust. Anti-lockdown sentiments create false impressions of public health institutions and measures designed to keep population safe. Although public health restrictions are bad, the alternative is worse. In Sweden, relaxed public health response lead to higher rates of covid hospitalizations and deaths, and didn't benefit its economy compared to other Nordic countries. Unlike most states, Florida has most of its covid deaths after vaccines became widely available according to Brown university study. Nationwide, over 300,000 covid deaths could have been prevented if more Americans had been vaccinated.

Myth is that lockdowns don't work. From epidemiological perspective, most published studies found evidence to support public health measures in slowing covid virus spread in 2020. It would have been worse to not control infections and have more people die. Only a fringe minority favor allowing population to be infected to gain natural immunity while protecting the most vulnerable. This dangerous fallacy unsupported by scientific evidence comes from "American institute for economic research" known for promoting misinformation about pandemic and climate change. The "great Barrington declaration" has been discredited by World health organization and American public health association.
