PHILLY SUCKS that's all I know. Dallas fan here. Yeah, I know my team sucks, but philly isn't all that much better. Still, this would be a good spot to have the home dog win.
The spread hasn't opened yet, but I'm suspecting it will be something like Philly + 4. I'm thinking take the home dog. Atl should win, but Philly + 4 would be my play.

Matt Ryan looked VERY shaky most of the game against a bad Cleveland pass defense. I don't have a good feeling about this game in Philly for he and the Falcons.
Good thing is the Falcons defense has been steady. Not spectacular, but Philly will have to win this game thru the air. Can they do it?
Looks like a low scoring game to me.

It's clear to me that the public is way more on the falcon's jock than i am. Matt Ryan is really just a game manager on the road, having rather poor road stats in his young career and they just had to grind out a win against upstart cleveland in which they hardly could put away a sub par team. I know they won in new orleans, but the saints have their own issues and divisional games defy norms like that.
meanwhile their is more value of late on the eagles than i've seen in a while. regardless of how bad he looked in half a game against a better team (at the time at least) or in a half + of football that he wasn't that prepared for, kevin kolb is a legitimate QB who knows the system well and can run the offense, especially with the assisted emergence of lesean mccoy as a playmaker. The eagles still have a boatload of weapons on offense and a very capable defense and yet they are getting a discounted spread against a team that they historically dominate.
I think the Eagles secondary along with their pass rush will cause a significantly greater amount of difficulty on matt ryan who might not have even outdueled seneca wallace prior to injury.
The eagles as we all know are a very pass heavy team and the secondary from atlanta happens to be vulnerable as the 19th ranked pass defense in terms of yards per game. The eagles are balanced offensively with mccoy like they were, when at their best with a healthy westbrook.
I'm sure theres more, but i've said enough.
PHI -3 (likely heavy)

still early, but i really like the eagles here.

That's because Matt "death by a thousand 10yrd hook routes" Ryan is just a below average QB with a weak arm.
Failcants are a sham

I don't know if you seen many philly games over the past 10 years, but that's how they want to beat everyone... through the air. And when up against the 19th ranked pass defense in terms of yards against I've got to say absolutely. And if you think that 19th isn't low enough feel comfortable here (which it definitely should be),consider that they have allowed this many yards through the air against QB greats such as Seneca wallace/jake delhomme of cleveland, alex smith from frisco, Derek Anderson of zona and dennis dixon. The only non-subpar QB they've faced this year is a hobbled drew brees.
Kolb is likely second to brees on that list and has better weapons to work with than all of those opponents.
So to answer your question the eagles can absolutely can win through the air

at least philly (tied for division lead... with a 3-2 record) doesn't suck as bad as dallas, Please bet atlanta and see how that works out for you.

This is a joke? Free money weekend! Falcons will win by 28. Eagles have no offense and Falcons have a takeaway defense and a run stopping defense.
Falcons offense is the best well balanced offense in the nfl. Even on off weeks Falcon still win by double digits. Eagles also have no fans. Everyone in Philly is back on the Phillies bandwagon. Falcons will win and further themselves apart from the over rated crowd like GB and NO.

ATLANTAFALCONS AND WINNER99, how do u see atlanta winning big? did u see how atlanta played against san fran at HOME! eagles were winning big and let them back in, eagles have a good offense and matt ryan will struggle against the eagles defense. i see eagles winning straight up.

How did ATL become world beaters all of a sudden? Last week they got lucky their D-lineman made the play of his life or that game could have been 13-10 ATL win over the browns! the browns!
The Eagles are no Browns with or without Vick!
Favorite is 6-2 ATS in their last 8 meetings.
Falcons are 2-8-1 ATS in their last 11 meetings.
Falcons are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 meetings in Philadelphia.

i`ll probaly stay alway from this one. as i said last week the browns are not a bad team. yeah their record is bad but i seen them almost beat my boys the ravens and the ravens were home i almost shit myself. so i wouldn`t look too much into what atlanta did against the browns last week.
i think these teams are even-steven...

good to see someone else in here is sane. I guess if it wasn't for homers with atlanta in their name, this wouldn't be such a good money game for us.
atlanta falcons, here's the reality
matt ryan is about on par with kolb, but worse on the road. roddy white is better than anyone on the eagles, but the eagles have 2 receivers who are better than anyone else on the falcons (maclin/jackson) tony gonzalez may have been better than celek 10 years ago, but now he's equal at best (and i'm probably selling celek short). Mccoy isn't a bruiser like turner, but he's a much better pass catcher and just as good all around at this point. (turner has yet to look as good as he did in 2008). Eagles have a very strong secondary that is better than the falcons who are vulnerable through the air. Falcons are much more consistent and better against the run, but what they gain in the ground game is lost through the passing game.
and at the root of it all, historic matchups are very relevant in situations like this and the eagles just have the falcons number as mentioned in the post i quoted. Play the falcons if you really want, but don't act like the falcons outclass the eagles. The eagles have been better for a good decade even if the falcons actually are better this year, but the falcons haven't done much out of division on the road in a while and there's no good reason to assume things will be different here.
PHI -2.5 (large)

ATL +3 (3units): Mike Smith is 4-1 ATS coming off second-consecutive road games. Statfox Trend; teams coming off road victories of 1-3 points always struggle as home favorites. Score: Falcons 24-Eagles 17

Falcons defense leads nfl in ints and top 5 in sacks. Eagles D is garbage. They lost AT HOME to the over rated Packers
FYI - The Falcons have never covered as a road favorite against a winning team. I am not talking about this year - I am talking about ALL 45 YEARS. When they are favored to win an away game against a team with a winning record, they will LOSE. Guaranteed. MITB (Money In The Bank).

i dont like to bet vs. philly at home but i think this is a good spot to take a good team as an underdog. atlanta seems to have the better defense and arguably the better offense as they have a solid qb w/out any controversy, 3 good rb's as opposed to just 1 for philly, and maybe just slightly a better receiving corps with Riley Cooper being injured. what concerns me about Philly is #1: INJURIES- Jason Peters is out and so is Broderick Bunckley, and those are 2 major components on both sides of the line. When you look at Atlanta, I can see their defensive line giving Philly's O-line some trouble and Atlanta just seems to have the overall better team defense. I think defense wins this game while everyone is thinking offense.
#2: huge revenge game for atlanta since philly went to their house last year while they were Ryan-less and pretty much stomped them with Vick returning to play vs. his former team.
#3: philly has yet to win at home.
#4: anyone see philly's win @ Lions? it wasn't pretty. they barely held on to beat them.
I really think this is one of the strongest TEASE plays of the day. Other than that, I'll be on ATL ML
