Suggs, who sustained a sprained his right shoulder in recording his 10th sack of the regular season and playoffs Saturday, missed practice yesterday and is wearing a sling.
Besides Suggs, missing a second consecutive day of Ravens practice were cornerback Samari Rolle (thigh), receivers Mark Clayton (thigh) and Derrick Mason (knee) and defensive tackle Justin Bannan (foot). Listed as participating in a limited fashion yesterday were linebacker Ray Lewis (shoulder), safety Ed Reed (knee), tight end Todd Heap (back), fullback Le'Ron McClain (ankle), fullback Lorenzo Neal (shoulder) and linebacker Jarret Johnson (calf).
STEELERS:
Polamalu hurt the calf in pregame warmups Sunday, but played well enough to make three tackles and show no ill affects from the injury. He was listed as fully participating in practice yesterday and is expected to remain in the starting lineup for the AFC championship game against Baltimore at 6:30 p.m. Sunday at Heinz Field. "It felt good out there," the Steelers' Pro Bowl safety said. "I practiced normally."
Center Justin Hartwig said he expects to be in the lineup, although he still hasn't returned to full practice. He was listed as limited after working lightly yesterday, with right guard Darnell Stapleton working at center and backup Trai Essex replacing Stapleton.
"I'm sure I'll practice a little [Friday]," Hartwig said after practice yesterday.

I don't think it will be a blowout but PITT should win this game by 7-14 points. As Ravens fan bigrazz just mentioned a few posts ago Rolle is out and it looks more and more likely that Suggs isn't going to play. Not to mention the numerous other injuries the Ravens have. Antwan Barnes is still out, Leonhard got a concussion last game, Heap has bad ribs and a sore back, McClain has a bad ankle, Reed has a bad knee. Just because it's a rivalry doesn't mean a team can't blow the other one out. Or did you miss last weekends Eagles/Giants game? 23-11 was the final. You can also look at the last time these two teams met in 2002, 28-10 Steelers. Rivalry has nothing to do with it. You have to look at the two teams as they are right now. One is injured and tired, the other is healthy and fresh.
And yes Flacco is struggling right now. You have to take that into consideration. Only completing 44% of your passes is a huge problem. That's not going to scare any defense away from stacking the line, stopping the run and forcing Flacco to beat you, especially the Steelers. Do you have confidence in Flacco if the Ravens are down 7 in the 4th and they need him to drive them down the field? I don't. He didn't win those games in Miami and Tennessee, the defense did with their ability to cause turnovers. The only thing Flacco did well in those games was protect the ball. He's going to have to do more than that in this one. Especially with how injured that defense is.
If I placed my bet with the Ravens -6 early in the week thinking that getting 6 points was a gift from Vegas I would be looking at ways to hedge my bet right now.
PITTSBURGH ML HUGE- I can't say that enough
Ok you cannot sit there and tell my rivalry has nothing to do with it..Great you cited one isolated example...Statistically speaking the majority of these games between the two teams results in wins by 3-5 points by either team....Yes there are a few incidents where either team has blown out the other...But if you remember back a few years ago when the ravens sucked ass like were really garbage they took Anthony Wright(I believe was his name) as there starting QB and lost by 1 point in Pitt...WIth ZERO offense...anything can happen on any given day...The oddsmakers in that game had Pitt -12.5...Even though the Ravens have all the injuries, C'mon its the AFC play off game I bet all these players will play aside from Rolle and Suggs. In the end though I think the NFL will not let Arizona go to the superbowl because that would produce TERRIBLE ratings and I think its gonna go down to something in history which will be the battle of Pittsburgh, soley because the NFL is staging these games for the ratings...

What I meant was don't base your bet on just thinking this is a rivalry game so it's going to be close. The Steelers are rivals with every team in that division and probably the most hated. I'm sure most of those players will play too but not having arguably their best linebacker in Suggs (yeah I know Ray is there but at this point in there careers I'd rather have Suggs) and top cornerback in Rolle out is a huge disadvantage. That's why I said you have to look at these teams as they are right now. A lot of the Ravens are not going to be anywhere near 100% healthy for this game. The Steelers, especially Willie Parker and Ben, looked very sharp last week to me. Like I said, if I placed a bet on the Ravens -6 earlier in the week I'd be looking for a way to hedge my bet right now.
Not that it matters or will have any effect on the game but the Superbowl will never produce terrible ratings. You could put Detroit and Kansas City in there and the game would get huge ratings. It's the Superbowl man. It's not the Pistons vs. the Spurs in a seven game series. It's one game for the title. Plus with all of the marketing and new commercials that go on during the Superbowl, people that don't even like football just watch the game for that stuff. These games aren't fixed either. The NFL has nothing to do with who gets to the Superbowl.

see the Rolle injury doesn't really bother me..... the reason being is because the Raven corners have been stepping up due to injuries all year...
the big X-factor which is scary for Ravens backers is SUGGS....
who is playing for him.... and if he plays he is not going to be able to hit like he hits.... plus they need to stop the Pitt run game or this will get ugly....
but you never know what Ryan has up his sleeve....

And here I thought the Cleveland Browns were the Cleveland Browns. Go figure . . .
when art modell moved his team it was still the same team just in a different town, baltimore should have had to remain the colts too much history lost with the teams moving around like they did..... the colts owner moved out over night to indy. la rams moved to st louis and the cards left for arizona. now they have to leave the name with the city when a pro franchise leaves for another city all because of modell and his greed. old cleveland and new cleveland cant stand either one go pitt

Does anyone think that Willie Parker will have Chris Johnson type success? Chris Johnson was shredding the Ravens before he got hurt.
i think he could, what the game will come down to is pitt not turning the ball over, flacco is good but he lacks weapons to throw to, if steelers stop the run and dont turn the ball over flacco will be expected to do something great with a team that set up for the qb to just not make mistakes. hines ward should have a big day. i feel that baltimore putting a bounty on steelers players earlier in the year with the trash talking to the steelers when they were banged up was the wrong thing to do, pitt is healthy and motivated, baltimore is banged up and ray lewis will most likely be a cowboy next year. cowboys get the new stadium next year and need to win to generate the money. i loom for lewis to be the one raven with a good day but one LB doesnt win championships, not a cowboy fan but i expect them to be in the superbowl next year with lewis being the team leader they lack on defense.

how about a good cap from someone in here.... ive seen a few, but there are more than a few posts....
I think Pitt wins but by 5 I don't know.... I knew SD wouldn't get it done in PITT in those conditions, but the Ravens are much tougher... (I also knew that Carolina would beat the Cardinals at home where they are undefeated off a bye week)....... these games are always close, it shoudln't be any different.... it will be a field position game and the better turnover margin will result in a winner.... I will be rooting for the Ravens...
Raven +5.... anytime you give a team with a defense like this points I will take it....
GL to all..... and please stop the baby crap... just post intelligent caps so we all can work together to breakyourbookie
thats funny the game i watched carolina lost. on a serious note if the two teams were completey healthy or if pitt was playing poorly like they did when they played and beat the ravens i would say this will be close. the close good game will be the cards/eagles. steelers will be ready to beat the ravens up. suggs cant even lift his arm over his shoulder, i dont think people appreciate how physical a team tenn is, piit got lucky they played SD who is good but not a physical team this year. this game will be over by the end of the 3rd.
if im wrong then im wrong not a ravens fan but not letting that cloud my judgment
the funny line is the betting trend in vegas on the eagles cards over/under is 72% on the over and the line dropped 2.5 pts
vegas makes thier money on the cards game this game is pretty close in the spread and the total with a slight edge on ravens getting 6 and the over which will change if they make a big deal about weather. good luck to all

i agree with stalker the superbowl is guaranteed ratings. i think the better story is the cards getting to the superbowl. if they do im sure the hype will be about warner having past superbowl experience and how hot the cards have been in the post season. if its the cards/steelers superbowl it will be like when the pats played arizona and people will wonder how they got convinced cards could win. i dont think these games are fixed but i do believe the league "handicaps" thru thier officiating. you get fined for exercising a first amendment right when you mention bad officiating. the league trys to act like vegas is the enemy so people dont lose interest and they keep the multi-billion $$ industry thriving, but anyone who lost money on the first pitt/sd game knows vegas would have had to pay out over 64 million on the spread alone. players dont fix games anymore ,(plenty of examples in all sports for many decades) but im sure the league has a" what they would like to see agenda". players still have to play but some games seem fixed, mostly because they listen to people on tv who are not speaking freely but are just following a thesis statement. anyone who has been to college knows how communication works.the analyst are mainly communication majors backing up angles they were given.the hype and the officials is where i question the league and vegas connection, if the nfl really wanted to help betters put down vegas they would not have a rule that disallows anyone on tv to talk about spreads 1 hour before kickoff. if you notice espn has hammerin hank on with his picks right before the time deadline. and those picks are at best 50% right.

Rolle out, and Suggs can't lift arm above shoulder. Tenn Turnovers helped sway their playoff birth, How can they do it without two starting defensive specialist. Just remember teaser people how did you win last week. Stillers 27-10

Jameel McClain will play if suggs cant go. baltimore sun news paper was saying that suggs if he can go might play just on thrid down on passing plays just rushing the QB. also the ravens witch play a 3 4 might play some 4 3 with both ends being Trevor Pryce and Marques Douglas both tackles being Haloti Ngata and Justin Bannan and then outside LB`s being Bart Scott and Jarred Johnson and Ray Ray in the middle scaring the shit out of willie parker. i think Rashard Mendenhall still has nightmares waking up in a sweat feeling his sholder in witch Ray shattered that shit! Ha Ha. but i really think baltimore stops the run and willie parker they always do. 92 total yards , 2.2 yards per rush , and 0 td`s against baltimore in six career games. chris johnson was killing them last week but he`s not willie parker. i know their both fast but i think johnson is going to something very special. i`m more worried about are secondary. if only baltimore had rolle and lets not forget they lost chris McAlister early in the season. like i said before i will be pulling for my boys but we just might be a lil bit too worn out. 18 games in a row is tough! also to BOOYAHZ i love it that you think are de doesnt play with class! its true thats why that de has been great for the last ten years! its NFL defence not the PGA! GO RAVENS!

Yah, I was just bustin' yer balls a lil'. I agree that once a team's owner moves shop, that organization forfiets all claims to that team name and that team's history. Ala The Ravens/Browns (at least the NFL got it right that one time). GL this weekend.

Why is Pitt not getting any respect bro? I don' understand? Is it just the fact that this will be their 3rd game this yr?? I believe the Pitt and Balt D is a match. Everyone keeps talking about Ed Reed??? What about Troy Polamalu? Just wait till Flacco tries to pass the rock tomorrow! The Offense is obviously all Pitt! This is the playoffs and Pitt at home playing a beat up Ravens D=Pitt. Waiting on tomorrows weather(wind) for the over/ under play. Plus everyone hits the Ravens early and the line moves in the opposite direction! Trap? Maybe I'm missing something. I'm thinking Eagles and Pitt in the Superbowl.

I wonder if there will be any holding penalties against Balt's offense tomorrow? I understand that there has not been an offense holding penalting on Stiller opponents the last 5 games. This despite obvious holding against #92 Harrison.
