this is a tricky game at best.  It's the last game and Carolina might rest their starters.  I'm thinking Carolina...but I wouldn't bet on this one.  I'm thinking you will be stressed out watching this game go back and forth.

No resting for Carolina, if carolina loses and Atlanta wins the Falcons win the tiebreak virtue their 8-4 would be conference record vs. Carolina's would be 7-5 conference record, 1-1 head to head, both 3-3 in division, both 10-4 in common games (both 3-3 in div, Car 4-0 AFC West, 3-1 NFC north lost to chicago, Atl 3-1 AFC west, lost to Denver, 4-0 NFC north)  Would come down to conference record, Atlanta has nonconference loss, Carolina  doesn't so Atlanta has a better conf. record)  So Carolina still has to win for the bye.  All that said, i don't think they do, they go down here on the road then will be on the road again the following week for the 3rd straight time and they'll lose it that spot too.

Kind of a meaningless game for both teams, but if I were Carolina I would want to go into the playoffs on a winning note. Just like they did in 2005 beating Atlanta 44 - 11.

Brees needs 402 yards passing to break Dan Marino's single season record.  I don't think he does it, but he's going to give it a shot.

No matter what the situation is, you always have to take NFC South teams when they are at home.  The Saints don't have a shot at the playoffs, but I can guarantee you that they don't want to give the Panthers a bye week and a free win.  The Panthers defense is much worse on the road (see last week's game vs. the Giants) which means Brees should be able to do whatever he wants.  You know the Panthers are going to run the ball, so hopefully the Saints will realize to put 8 guys in the box and jam Steve Smith.  Either way, they are at home, so they ruin the Panthers chances.

PANTHERS  SAINTS HAVE TO RELY ON DEUCE TODAY PIERRE IS APPARENTLY OUT...just dont think the saints can keep passing and passing on the panthers without the panthers making adjustments, also the panthers want that first round bye , because everyone knows you cant lose the first week of the playoffs if you have a bye...if you also look at the last game between the 2, the panthers dominated, i know it was a home game , but imagine what Steve smith , D williams , J stewart are going to do on turf against this soft saints D....I do think it will be closer than last game between the two but the panthers still win by 10

Carolina takes this one and covers the 1.5 today in New Orleans....best bet in the early games, in my opine.....
 
Pretty much everyone on Covers is backing New Orleans.......squares......
