Too early for me to give -7.5 pts away. I'll be backing Carloina+7.5 in this season opener. No more Delhome to throw to the Giants and Carloina still has a decent enough defense to deal with Eli.
Carolina+7.5

I was worried about this game, but not any more. I think NY pulls out fast, scores quick and the Panthers have to throw and gives up on the run which is their best weapon.
7 points won't be enough to save Panthers.
Good teams win games, Great teams cover the spread!

CAR +7 (2units) - a new stadium didn't help the Cowboys, was it more pressure to perform in the new living quarters? I don't know, but a TD is alot to lay for teams that are more evenly matched than people think. Giants 24-Panthers 21

+ Obviously I am a Giants fan but the Giants usually start fast, the past few seasons they have came out of the gate hot and cooled down towards the end of the regular season. I think the Giants will win this one pretty easy. 2 years ago the GMen started like 10-1 or something and last season they started 5-0 last season.
+ Matt Moore is not the answer for Carolina (Giants have Antrell Rolle and Kenny Phillips for safetys)
+ Giants have a revamped D with new D coordinator
+ Eli will continue to improve every season (Over 4,000 yds passing last year)
+ Hakeem Nicks will be Giants top receiver which will make Steve Smith (NYG) even better on 3rd downs
+ A. Bradshaw will be starting at RB
+ Panthers lost J. Peppers
+ 1st game in the new Medowlands stadium (Although did not turn out good for Dallas opening there stadium last year)
- Carolina still has a potent rushing attack
Giants win 28-12
GMEN -7

Reasons why I like/don't like the Giants to cover

Good riddance to Jake Delhomme. Absolutely love playing a legitimate dog on opening day! In fact, let's throw another 2 units on the fire, for good measure!! GIANTS plus "new" stadium=
(Remember the Cowboys-Ha Ha!)

I'm all over the points here. The Giants just don't have it. They also struggle with stopping a solid run game. Last I checked, that might be the only game Carolina brings to town. I'll take the TD here.

"a new stadium didn't help the Cowboys"
that's because the Cowbillies are mostly hype.
Playing in NY has pressure with it no matter who you play. Is it 7 or 6.5 now?
When NY played in Dallas, Dallas ran for 250 yards, NY's didn't have a run game yet still won the game. Carolina better score some points and not the 8 points a game they did during preseason.

That line dropping off of a key # to 6.5 with an early lean on the home fav Giants. Not a good sign for NYG backers. Gonna watch this line till game time, but I am feeling a Panthers play here. We'll see
