Love the Panthers here. They fight their hearts out for a tough win against the Chargers, and now with the home-field advantage take on a one dimensional offense with their good D. If games are won and lost in the trenches then this one is a rout for the Panthers with their D-line vs. the Bears archaic o-line. Also like the under.

1 dimensional offense? Bears put up a total of 333 yards against the Colts on  the road opening night in the Colts new stadium. 183 yards rushing and 150 passing. 2 TD's and two field goals. seems pretty balanced to me. Not to metion Bears defense scored a TD and a safety vs a Colts offense that is much more potent then Carolina. Oh yeah and no Steve Smith this week for Carolina. I took Chicago +450 and with the points vs the Colts. It made for a nice ending to the weekend. As long as the spread continues to be over inflated and the public continues to bet against the Bears I'm going to ride this gravy train and count the cash.  Should last two more weeks until the books see they are for real. Bears will take this one straight up and I'll take the points this week too.

150 yards passing is good??? 100 rushing and 200 passing would be balanced, 150 yards passing is rather pathetic. Panthers didn't have Smith last week either and beat a team on the road that is better than the Bears

I consider Carolina my strongest play for this week.

Well why would they continue to pass the ball when they were winning by more then 2 TD's in the 4 th Quarter?

Looking at the Panthers hear. Chicago played well against Indy last week but Manning looked horrible running the offense after not playing in the preseason(it does matter for something sometimes).
Feel Carolina will have some success on the ground as they did last week and that they will get enough pressure on Orton to cause a few turnovers(maybe one for a score).
It will be hot and humid in Charlotte- think carolina will wear 'em down with their run game in the 4th to cover.

I agree they had no reason to keep passing, but you called them a balanced offense, and with orton and their wrs, i just don't see it. that being said I actually put money on the bears in a teaser with them being +13, so it's not like i think they will get blown out.

Carolina showed some fight last week but it was painfully obvious the Chargers were not ready to play. It was sad, really. But, I'll save that for the San-Den thread.
 
These are two fairly even teams and this really is not worth playing but I like the Bears to win.

I hate when people drop the "lock" in these threads....no game is ever a lock!

IMO i give the edge to Carolina in this one...i know chicago is hyped up about giving the Colts a beating...but the Colts were not the same old colts, they played awful...i like the home team laying 3...Car - 3 is probably going to be one of my strongest plays...BOL to all the bears backers though...(I just recently moved to Chicago from Indy and i just can't bring my self to root for the bears!)

Both teams are coming off impressive victories over predicted Super Bowl contenders this season.

Forte was a beast against the Colts defense and Jake seems to be back on track pulling off a last second victory over the Chargers. Well Merriman was not at a 100% but the rest of the Chargers defense are still pretty damn good.

Interesting to see which team will carry their momentum into this game off of those victories.

I'm taking a chance here that the home team will have the edge here in momentum....

With you on that one BigD,  I really think the Bears had thier best game last week( and that is not saying much). Carolina shuts down the run game and forces Orton to throw.

Safest play for me here boys is the over.  Carolina looked to be in a very nice rhythm against a solid Chargers defense, even without their top receiver in Steve Smith.  The Bears offense actually looked like an offense for the first time in several years.  Matt Forte had a really nice game, making the Colts look old and slow.  Both teams should be able to get up into the 20's here today, behind Delhomme's passing, and I'm predicting a Devin Hester touchdown or big play or something to that effect.
