I watch eery Texans gm living here in Houston, and Arian Foster is NOT the same since his injury. He can't cut-back like he use to, and that's how he got most of his yards, because that's how the running game is set up. It will be a fg game, therefore siding w/ the Bengals here. Their D will shutdown the Texans run game, and when you do that Houston ultimately gets shutdown.

keep driving that texans line alittle higher backers. the bengals pass rush is gonna make schaub wish for the offseason witness protection program. foster may get his but it wont be enough imho. the bengals have the better defense and momentum to boot. a win at pittsburgh proved it to me. i havent backed the bengals for a long time but this year maybe special. ok let me have the critics tell me i am wrong.  goodluck all.

Houston Texans have been exposed the last couple of weeks and dropped from 1st to 3rd place. However, they get this one and cover big time against an inexperienced playoff Bengals team.

went 4-0 last week.take the under here.cincy scores but houston will play home playoff defense.cincy just has a good defense.low like 17 13

Hello all! I suppose its time to throw my hat in this "handicapping" arena. I have been lurking in the shadows throughout the season reading these comments trying to determine who knows their garbage and have come to the conclusion that I can guess too! So here it goes....

In this game I will side with momentum. Cincy is playing good inspired football, and they have a very underrated d-line/pass rush. Houston seems to be barely hanging on to their image of being a good team. Its not that they lost late in the season...again. Its more how they lost, they got their mojo taken from them plain and simple. Thats not something you can turn back on when you want to. A.J Green has a career day maybe even a playoff record performance WITH them keying on him every play. Green Ellis gashes them for 100+ to boot. I say Cincy wins this game outright, 4.5 is just gravy on top to cover a possible last second field goal from Houston.

Large on the Under and small on -4.5 Houston

everyone knows that houston has looked like garbage the last 3 weeks, Cincy hasn't been lighting the world on fire either. Last week, Cincy wins by a TD by the Ravens who sat their starters for most of the game. Cincy pulls out an ugly win vs a comotose Pittsburgh Steeler team. Andy Dalton looked terrible, but Big Ben looked worse. Houston has covered last 5 matchups.

I'm not sure why Cincy is getting so much respect in this thread.  This is the same team that got DRILLED by Houston in last year's playoff game vs. Houston's 3rd string QB!  This is the same Cincy team that only has 1 impressive win all year - at home vs. the Giants and we all know the kind of inconsistent football the Giants played this year.

Cincy's losses:  Got crushed at Baltimore by more than 4 scores, lost at home to Dullphins, Lost at home by 2 scores to Browns, and lost at home to Cowgirls.  Any serious pressure applied to Dalton and he folds up like a cheap tent.  Then they have that joke of a coach - Marvin Lewis.  I'll never forget when he decided to go for a 4th and 22 in a TIE GAME in the 4th qtr at Pittsburgh which was one of the ugliest wins i've ever seen! >>> ( Bengals had rushed 16 times for 14 yards in that game )  Oh and to shed even more light on how weak this Cincy offense is - they haven't scored a rushing TD since they played Philly on Dec. 13th.

I like Houston at home laying the points. 

if this game was in Cincy I would be looking at this differently but I just think that the dome game does not play to the bengals stregth.  They aren't a fast offense or defense and they don't really score points.  They are more of a grind it out type of team which is also a characteristic of the NFC North.

Houston's defense is fast at home, and I can't see the Bengals having a successful running game.  If Houston gets up early it's going to be ugly for Andy Dalton.

on the flip side the Houston shanahan running game is impressive.  Cincy has a great run defense but I think Foster, Tate, and Forsett can run on any team. 

This game will be about who makes more mistakes (as are most) and I just think Schaub at home for the first real chance of going far in the playoffs will be more efficient.  I agree with the above posts about not getting passed NE or Denver, but I tihnk they get it done at home.

I also love the Ravens at home.... I think they eat the Colts for breakfast.... I also put a superbowl prop on the Ravens because it's the best odds your ever going to get with a team this good..... I intend to hedge throughout the playoffs though!

I did the same with the Seahawks!

I am siding with Forkball, Gatz and Jonfan on this. Houston likely gets upset. Kubiak is a box and doesnt feel he deserves to win this and this negatively infects the whole team on a subconscious level.

Not betting this game as I like Seattle much better this weekend.

All of you that are on Houston have you seen them play the last 5 weeks ? The Texans defense sucks right now. Pats smoked them. They lost at home to minn and scored 6 pts doing it. Give me the Bengals.

Houston half and game for me.. Shut down AJ Green and Dalton has no where to go.. Look for Houston to get back to running the ball, controlling the clock, and letting their D take care of the rest.. Once Foster gets going and the play action starts, down goes the Bengals' playoff hopes..

   Since I have been back on this site recently, I have seen some of the most truly ridiculous statement's I can remember from anywhere, anytime. Let's see. Earlier today somebody was trying to make the argument that the Laker's would win based on the fact that somebody on the team, I'm sure Kobe but I couldn't force myself to pay that much attention, had used reverse psychology in a statement they made and that was going to alter the outcome somehow. Up here their is something about one of these team's are not going to be up to snuff on their subconscious level. Can't even bring myself to go back and look at which one.(I guess I'm just screwed if I have the 1 who's subconscious is all discombobulated). The stuff is in abundance around here. If anybody who write's this stuff is seeing this, have you ever played any sports, at any level above P.E. ? Forget it, I already know the answer. On my knee's and praying that theirs isn't the discombobulated subconscious, or no reverse, double, triple reverse psychological thingymabob is going on,

Texans -  the best I can find it tomorrow. Hoping for Bengal backer's to show up. Look's pretty good based on Houston's past few game performances.

breakem was the closest as everyone seems to not read up on injury reports...however, he's a homer for the Texans...

I'm on Cincy here and one of the main reasons why is the MLB position for Houston...Dobbins and Sharpton are out.  Houston just signed practice LB Collins who has never played an NFL game.  He will back up the back ups Alexander (who was just resigned on Tuesday) and Nading. 

OLB Reed will also be playing injured for the Texans and heck, he might not even play.  Starting OG Caldwell is also out so Geno Atkins (candidate for top defensive player of the year) will have a field day getting to Schaub.

And for all those caught up with the last Bengals/Texans matchup...the Bengals were without LB Vontaze Burfict who will be responsible for Foster out of the backfield...

I'm no homer here, just love studying injury reports...something many posters don't do but should.

I know this isn't the stock market but if it were which team would you buy stock in the one that is rising in value or the one that is plummetting. I'll let you figure out which team is which.

Expecting Houston to bounce-back at home (6-2) from losses to much stronger teams of the Colts, Vikings and New England Patriots!  And Houston now 5-0 vs. Cincinnati last 5 meetings!

Indianapolis QB Andrew Luck, RB Vick Ballard and WR T.Y. Hilton far more powerful than Baltimore Ravens!

Baltimore now only 1-4 straight up, and 1-4 vs. point spread last 5 games!

Indianapolis 9-1 vs. Baltimore last 10 meetings!

And Colts' rookie superstar Andrew Luck now 9-2 vs. spread last 11 games!

Seattle vs. Washington features two superstar rookie QBs, Wilson and RG-3!  Seattle holds a + 6 point advantage on offense, and a + 6 on defense last 3 games!  Seattle's + 12 advantage far above the 3 point Vegas spread!

Neither team has yet to play the super powers of Indianapolis, Denver or New England, but Seattle blow-outs (even against San Francisco) have moved them up into the ranks of one of the super power teams last 5 games!

Tough one. Being a Bengals fan makes it even harder to judge, so I go with the play for the "under". Both offenses were not really lighting up the scoreboard lately and the defenses been solid more or less, especially the Cincy one.

Probably making a small play on Bengals ML as well, just for wishful thinking :)

Comparing a few things, this one can get really close:

Streak: + Houston. They were beating the Bengals left and right in all recent encounters
Home Field: + Houston
Momentum: + Cincinnati. Winning 7 out of 8 to close regular season after starting 3-5 was nothing short of impressive.
Offense: + Houston. Much more potential, especially in the run game, but it just is not clicking lately. I hope it stays like that for one more game

Defense: + Cincinnati. The pass rush is a big weapon and one of the main keys to a successful game for the Bengals.

Conclusion: In my opinion the deciding factor will be Andy Dalton. Will he throw strikes of will he throw picks? Overall Houston has the edge, but if Cincy can take good care of the ball, avoid turnovers they should be able to hurt Houston through the air significantly.

Bengals are 6-2 on the road this year, but 4-4 at home. Better on the road. Losing to the browns doesnt inspire confidence, but their defense is very underrated here down the stretch and have gone 7-1 in the last 8 albeit against crap teams..BUT... they just beat the ravens...week 17 conspiracy maybe?

 Schaub sat out the last playoff game however this is a more motivated Bengals this time. I think Schaub will have a tough time playing catch up...as they will run the ball a lot obviously. Bengals are notable this year for quick scores and have out scored opponents 2-1 in the first quarter this year. Very tough call since it is wildcard weekend and usually more upsets happen this weekend than most. I dont think this will be a blow out as others have predicted, looking forward to watching this one
