My favorite part of this site are the game threads. Lots of gamers putting in their thoughts, its helped me a lot. I'm having my best season to date against the books. I'm a Viking fan and I like to point that out as I use a "take comments with a grain of salt approach" b/c you never know what motivates each person's perspective on a game.
Both teams can play tough and both have had issues this season, I don't know that timing is a big factor here. MN is coming off a blowout too, granted to a NYG team that didn't care but Philly didn't impress me in the end and it wasn't all Dallas taking their game away. I think this is a pick who will win type of game. If MN is going to win, they are going to have to play the game they come with when they eliminate the opposition right from the start and never quit. I see a win by MN being a TD or more. A close game favors Dallas. I think the worst bet is to take Dallas simply to cover, thinking a knockout fight and a close finish. I'm taking MN -2.5 but again, my play contains emotion. Good luck to all in the Divisional Round!

Look at the Cowbillies first drive vs. the Eagle, when they got close to the goal line the penalties started popping up, those were the real Cowbillies. Romo turning his head when throwing the ball, shying away from contact. Phillips challenging every good play against them, they're going to be out of TOs before both halves are over.
How many times are the Cowbillies going to be off sides? O/U 7. Anyway we're going to see if Dallas can beat anybody other than the Eagles.
The Giants beat Dallas twice, know why? Because Dallas can't cover the pass. Favre can pick out where the holes are in coverage and Dallas won't have an answer. Dallas' answer to the Giants was Romo throwing 53 times and still losing the game. Even thou the Giants are not a very good team this year.
Will this be the 5 TD, or the 5 int Romo playing? Will he turn into a pumpkin? Like the scorpion who wanted to cross the river, It's his nature.
For you who don't know the story:
The scorpion can not swim but want to cross the river. Therefore, scorpion went to see a frog and ask “Mr frog, I want to go across the river but I can’t swim. You can swim. Can you give me a ride? I would be really appreciated if you do so.” Frog answered” No, you are a scorpion. If I let you ride on my back, you will sting me. I will be drowned and dead. Scorpion sting frog.” Scorpion said “ Hey, how can I do that? If I sting you on the way in the river, you will die. But I will also die too. I can’t swim. Remember?” Frog thought for awhile. Then he decided to help scorpion. He let scorpion ride on his back and started swimming across the river. While they were in the middle of the river, frog feel sting on his back and both of them started to drown. Frog cried out loud “Are you crazy? You sting me. Yes, I will die but you will die too. Why do you do this?” Scorpion answered “I don’t know. I am a scorpion and it's in my nature.”

Wow, the biggest Cowboy hater on the site picked....wait for it... AGAINST THE COWBOYS!!!
You still haven’t learned your lesson, have you?For the past four weeks you go into every Cowboy thread, bashing them, and in most of them basically saying there is no way they win/cover while at the same time very rarely making any good points.
And what have the Cowboys done during that same period in which you bashed them and every week said THIS is the week they go back to playing like they use to… they have gone 4-0 SU, 4-0 ATS, and covered each game by an average of 15 ppg.
Hell, the Cowboys could win 31-10 this weekend, Romo could go 23 for 28, over 300 yards passing, 3 TDs and no picks and next week you’d be saying the EXACT same thing: “THIS is the week the Cowboys go back to playing the way they use to.”

Give the freakin' Cowboys their due- they crushed defensive minded Philly 3 straight games. Now all of a sudden, the Boys can do no wrong in the eyes of the so-called experts. That being said, let's be realistic. Since the NO's game, it appears that Dallas is unstoppable. But are they? The Eagles after failing to get the job done with a better than average defense, failed with a 3rd game defensive plan. That coupled with a one dimensional and predictable offense, finally overcame them, and they were routed. The Vikings however, have a very potent offense , with the capababilty of either a "big play", or time consuming drives to keep Romo idle. With a well rounded team especially in all facets of "D", expect that it will be the last game for Romo!!
WOW SHOULD NOT HAVE EXPECTED ANYTHING DIFFERENT FROM YOU SINE YOU ARE A NEW YORKER

Vikings have no impressive wins of the 12 all season. None. Giants had all but given up by the time the teams met. That, coupled with Minnesota having no counter or answer to the Cowboys arsenal, pass rush and defensive secondary aside. Dallas will at least have adequate blocking to make Jared Allen, K Williams, and Pat Williams a non-issue. Marion Barber will have a fine homecoming; consider this his breakout.
Favre has never beat Dallas in the post-season. Minnesota's offensive line will be the weakness here, and expect sacks and pressures galore.
Cowboys 31 Vikings 20
FINALLY SOMEONE FROM MINNESOTA WHO KNOWS SOMETHING ABOUT FOOTBALL AND IS NOT A "HOMER"
COWBOYS WILL WIN

Farve and the Vikings are hot? What the hell are you smoking? If you exclude the layup game they played against the dying, unmotivated Giants, the Vikings were 1-3 to close out the season.
Yes, the Vikings are 8-0 at home. Do you know who else was 8-0 at home? The Patriots. How’d their first playoff game go?
TRUE THAT

vue...the "so called experts" are the experts. Trent Dilfer & Deon Sanders> than a capper with years of experience on a website who plays the ponies. There is no way in hell I would ever doubt trent, Deon, and most of the tv experts at this time of year. I make my own decision but STOUT D + blazing offense.....make mines Dallas to cover.
I told u vue......like 2 games in a row
Well fuckin said dddevine69. Dallas is clearly the best dog to bet on the ML. I personally thought that Dallas was going to be the favorites in this game when I saw the match up last week. Sometimes I dont even look at the stats and just get on the forum to see who Vue bets on and go complete opposite. I tell you what, It has worked out great.

I like picking on you cuz you are a pea brain.
You like the Vikings because you liked the Eagles last week and lost. Favre is an old back yard chucker that loses big games. He did last year and he will do it again. The Vikings have one good running back that will be stopped by a good defense. They will have to rely on Favres old arm and he will thow ints like he has been doing for the last 6 years. The Vikings lost their best defensive player and the 2 fat Williams guys are not going to matter when the Cowboys run outside. Peterson will be stopped and Favre will throw Ints.

I like the 'Boys to keep it rollin here. MINN struggled down the stretch and Dallas seems to be putting it all 2gthr at the right time. The 3 headed monster rush attack coupled with Romo being in sync with all his WR's and Witten makes this offense nearly unstoppable. Minn has failed to effectively move the ball on the ground in recent weeks and I think FAVRE is feeling the added pressure. We may see that signature Brett game, forcing the ball into tight coverage and racking up the int's.

Got feelin' Minny will be walking right into a buzz saw n' crowd will be silenced big time,as Vikes will be forced into catchup game, opening door to key turnovers in Captain Favre's ,too little, too late rescue effort.
Dallas should roll on down to New Orleans ,where only Daisy Duke's Sweet smellin' Southern Poon Tang could derail Romo's South Beach plans.
Though I 'd love to see Cinderella Rex vs Cowboys in Miami,
Looks like Bolts n' Cowboys for one hell of game.

Minnesota can run 2 or 3 wide receivers sets max protect Favre and still get favorable match ups in the passing game. Shiancoe or Peterson will end up being covered by a linebacker if Dallas doubles on Harvin and Rice. Plus I don't think Dallas will be able to pressure Favre with just 3 or 4 pass rushers If they blitz short check downs to Peterson or shiancoe should be there all day Peterson should break off a couple of long ones. On the flip side jared Allen and crowd noise should make a long day for Flozell Adams and Tony Romo Lastly Dallas finally playing well in December has brought timid Dallas bettors back to the books Minnesota should be at least a 6 or 7 point favorite at home. Minnesota minus 2.5 represents value

1) No rust, just rest. Most teams with first round byes rest their players in the week 17, and sometimes even week 16, as well. ala Saints, Colts, Chargers. Not the Vikes. They played through the end of the season, and were able to right themselves offensively v. the Giants. (It doesn't matter whether or not the Giants D layed down; psychologically, the offensive output did the vikes a world of good). One week gives them time to heal and prepare for a tgeam who's played 2 home games in a row against the same opponent.
2) Don't like Dallas in this spot for two reasons: 1. Don't like teams coming off banner performances. 2. Don't like teams coming off back-to-back games against the same team.

Dallas vs S.D. was the superbowl favorite last year, member.
#1. Double team Pervy harvinok why
#2 Double team Rice some times maybe.
Pressure Farve yes
Play zone Yes
Pick ball off and run it back for TD
As for trends this is the playoffs and end of the year to go to the superbowl, big difference, if you like trends how about teams playing really good defense at end of year and in playoffs that can run the ball and have veteren QBs? Maybe like an NFC east team like Giants or Eagles have been doing.
Minny played well begining of year... goes 3-3 at end...gets bye...runs into a buzz saw is right...heard that before...no one wants to face the Cowboys right now. Dallas has always beaten Vikings and even beaten Favre always, games close defense, Dalls come out 26-17

The home-field advantage will be neutralized when Dallas scores first. Childress is no true study, comeback, or half-time adjusting type coach. Once Minnesota falls behind, there will be no catching up.
Couple this with special teams (a clear Cowboys advantage) and I will sooner take Romo with better pass protection over a very suspect offensive line of the Vikings, and Favre producing subsequent errors.
Apart from Chad Greenway, Minnesota will have no answer beyond their front four for Jason Witten and Mar Bennett. Dallas has one too many intangibles working in their favor, and the Vikings have too few.
The sole aspect which brings hesitance is the public putting loads of money on the Cowboys.
Again, Minnesota not having lost all year at home, are quite clearly long overdue to lose - to a challenging opponent. Something the Vikings haven't seen ALL YEAR at Mall Of America Field at Metrodome. Laugh.
Dallas will walk the dog here, and carry on to New Orleans.

For those on the Cowboy band wagon, remember eagles were a one dimensional team with a suspect D and they played the Deadskins. Please. A rested Favre , solid running by Minni will keep cowboys off the field. In addition, and Minnis D will attack Romo all day and he'll end up laying an egg. MINNESOTA BIG. 35- 17.
