San Francisco has the nod in this game with a half point buy to make the spread 2.5. I like the attempts 1-10 in pre-season games for quarterbacks. Dilfer is the one with the best 1-10 completion % at 67.3, compared to 60% for Cutler, and 58.3 for Ramsey and just 55.6% for Alex Smith. The 49ers have more completions over 20 yards within those first 10 attempts with 12 for Smith and 9 for Dilfer, compared with 4 for Cutler, and 3 for Ramsey. This edge combined with "home" calls for interference will be enough to get San Francisco the field goal win, and with the .5 point buy, a filed goal is enough.

I am playing Denver...I  like them for the game at +3 and also in a 2-team six point teaser to get nine points...
 
Denver has 3 decent backs (Henry, Bell and Sapp) and a patented proven run game that can be effective with back-up OL's and RB's due to it's sophisticated scheme..their 3rd string QB (Preston Parsons) is a concern but when you are effective running the ball, that obviously opens up the passing game  and Denver has three solid TE's to boot (Scheffler, Alexander, Graham)...not sold on SF's back-up LB's (Smith and Navies are getting long in the tooth) and Bockwoldt can't run...SF has some nice starters on D but they lack overall depth...
 
Depth is something the Broncos defense does have (particularly along the front 7)...Dilfer is in his 14th year and can't move very well anymore and Shaun Hill is in his sixth year (and a complete question mark) and Luke Getsy is an undrafted FA...not sold on the back-up skill positions (RB/TE/WR) for the Niners... and if you think Mike Shanahan doesn't take the preseason seriously, check out this article...

I have the same issue. I haven't made a pick right since the Jets and I lost the first half to go down juice.

I changed my mind and went with SD -3.5 last night, I had my mind set on the over and blew it.

I am on the over for this one, they both are working on thier D, the key word is "working" and in pre season there will be gaps.

Pre season is just luck. I Think I got two right so far, but thats just fine cause now I know I better be right during the season cause luck ain't working

I strongly disagree with that analysis...Darrell Royal once said that "Luck is what happens when preparation meets opportunity"...there is more at play here than luck...it is understanding personnel match-ups, coaching strategies, X's and O's, back-up players and (to a lesser extent) trends...I frankly don't believe in luck...I believe in myself...and luck has nothing to do with the  I have made thus far this preseason...and if I begin to lose, luck will not be at fault...I will be...

Well pulled out my teaser last night barley  You know Scorp you really have opened my eyes up to these preseason games.Im a recreational capper I work a lot and read the news paper YOU actually break it down do your research make a lot of great points I respect that Im to lazy maybe thats why I loose alot  Honestly I was around 70 pct last year had a great year but preseason has always killed me now Im 5/3 preseason some of it thanks to you dont get me wrong I know you dont hit them all but you have gave me some new analogy's to ponder so keep on posting BRO  I will do a little reasearch and maybe I can come up with some good insite for you all  We are all on the same team here WINNING  DENVER

Going to buy one point and go with the over.Most people (I think) would take the o/u if it were 33.5.  Also......had write up about shanahan in Covers and being serious about pre-season.  Gonna leave point spread alone and enjoy the game.
