Straight up winning 2 straight with Stanton starting would be a Christmas Miracle. If the Lions are going to win this it will be the same way as the pounded those Packers - Suh leading a ferocious charge up front. I look for the Lions to dominate and win this by 2 TDs.
Just to clear the air - I always look for the Lions to win by 2 TDs! GO LIONS!

The Lions should be reasonably expected to keep this contest close. While the Bucs are the better team, I see the Lions picking up their 10 cover of the season.
DETROIT + 5.5

Yeah, I have to go with the Lions here. They seem to always be in the game late.....9-4 against the spread isn't something to ignore......but then again......neither is 8-4-1 by Tampa I still like the Lions though getting the magic numbers of 3 and 4 covered and in my back pocket for this one.

Wow, I never thought there would be so many Lions backers in here, let alone everybody so far? Let's hope my analysis doesn't scare anyone off - all right, here we go.
First off, all three of the Lions wins have been at home. They are "ofer" on the road. Secondly, of those three wins, only 1 was against a +.500 team. That was last week, against the Packers - and I'm not sure if everybody knows this, but Matt Flynn (not A-Rod) played most of it. And even with that, they only managed 1 touchdown on their home field, playing their third comfortable home game in a row - so the Lions didn't really "win" as much as the Packers "lost". Thirdly, the Lions aren't known as a running team, they're more "pass first" - and Tampa is better suited at defending the pass than the run anyways, so look for 2 or 3 picks this game - Barber with one, maybe Ruud with one. Fourthly, (if that's even a word) - with Blount, Graham and Winslow, TB is going to just ground and pound this Lions D-Line, because beyond Suh, who do they really have? VanDen Bosch is out. Finally, Drew Stanton? Drew Friggin' Stanton?!?!?! You guys are backing seldom used Drew Stanton on the road? Against a playoff bound team? In a playoff-style atmosphere? With cannons going off? and pirates on boats? and all kinds of crazy crap going on? No way, should be a bloodbath
I just hope Legarrette Blount doesn't have to go over to the Lions bench and punch reserve running back Ian Johnson in the face! (Johnson went to Boise State - for those of you wondering about that remark!)

Lions have lost 26 road games in a row, not sure how anyone can back them until they show they can play on the road. Six points are a lot of points to lay, but you can not bet a team you no WILL NOT win, your just praying they keep it within 6 points. Thats how you lose money

Love the lions here in this spot , tampa is tough but are over achieving and this could very well be a let down game for them i will take a shot on the lions here to squeek one out for they're 1st road win in 2 years , hey it's gotta happen eventually and this lions team although have a 3-10 record play hard every week but seem to mail in the 2nd half of games , if they can come out and have a good 3rd quarter of football i can see them stealing a win, i think they run the ball well here when they use best and morris to set up a good pass attack, stanton worries me but have a feeling they get a total team effort here and pull out a win.

If anything, the Lions are due for a lackluster performance, they've played with a lot of intensity for most of the games this season, which is rare for the Lions.

Lions are trash. No more lucky wins for that disgraceful franchise. The team from the best division in football wins here by 20+.
Number 1 Lions are far from trash they have lost 5 or 6 games this year they should have won they just have to learn how to close out games. Number 2 Tampa Bay is in far from the best division in football. Number 3 can i get some of that money at Tampa winning by 20+ pts i will even take it at 10+ pts. Lions may just win this one SU. They are getting healthy again and have as many good offensive weapons as just about any team in the NFL you just haven't seen them play this year.

Shaun Hill will likely get the start this week. And with Calvin Johnson, Nate Burleson and Bryant Johnson all healthy at WR and a healthy again TE Brandon Pettigrew they will put up some pts. I think they put up enough to cover the spread again as they are a spread covering machine this year i just hope they get the SU win to boot.

You're right - let me go ahead and change "playoff bound" with "mathematically still alive"
I support ur insight...and think u have to be a complete and utter nut case to place a bet on the lions this week... sure they are a covering the spread machine .. but .. not this sunday ... with 3rd string QB
