Yeah I like the Ravens here. Especially if Cassell is out. Baltimore's D- LIne should dominate the Chiefs O-Line and force some turnovers. Bigrazz and NoBetNoWin said everything you need to know about this game.

The smart play here is KC +13, they did not win in the preseason and they did not cover 1 spread. They will cover the points here in a typical low scoring boring non offensive game. Ravens will never make it back to the Superbowl with this offense, its just not explosive!

Fully agree with this room but that scares me.  Vegas isn't stupid, is there any way we are missing something.  I like Rice to be the break out player of the year and Bowe is my pick to drop like a rock.  This seems too easy!

What is your reply to Rice, McGahee, and McClain vs. LJ and Charles?  I don't think KC knows how to properly utilize JC yet.  Chiefs defense wears out trying to stop the Ravens' three-headed monster and Flacco provides enough spice to deliver the acid relux.

I can't see the Chiefs matching score for score....

Then again, 13 is HUGE for a Ravens spread, but I will be teasing it down.

KC will struggle to score more than 10 pts.  Having said that, Ravens should cover easily.

    agreed that are offense isnt that explosive. but if i remember right we won in 2000 with trent dilfer. and went 5 GAMES WITHOUT AN OFFENSIVE TD!! YES 5 GAMES and still won. remember how explosive the oakland offence was that year with rich gannon? we held them to 3 points in that AFC championship game. sorry bud but are defence wins games for us. the baltimore sports writers are saying that are de might be better then the 2000 de.we have so much depth at every position. so much that there were over 25 scouts from other teams at are last preseason game watching for guys that got cut. were not explosive but i do know that we were second in the league in time of possession. we run,run,run, hold the ball and play great SP and scary defence. its smack you in the mouth ravens football.AND I LOVE IT!!         

  take them at 18 to 1 for the superbowl. its a great play for a team that has a good shot... of course health plays a big role for any team. anyway my whole point is if you have a great defence you dont need a explosive offence. if you can go 5 GAMES WITHOUT A OFFENSIVE TD and still win its prof that defence wins championships. just look at your last several superbowl champs.

Are you saying the KC defense is going to stop Rice, McGahee, and McClain?  And stop Flacco as well?  Even though Baltimore's defense will give them good field position all game?

Who is starting at QB for the Chefs tomorrow?  Who is going to dare block for Larry Johnson against that D?  Something tells me Ravens win by like 20 or so.  I mean I hate to lay a large number like this on just week one but I don't know how KC will score.

some people are unbelievable on here.. how can someone doubt the fact that the ravens at home WILLLLLL score over 20 on kc and i don't even think kc scores even a touchdown in this one

ok, well know KC sucks and Balt has a MONSTER D.  but -13 points better?
 
 
I would be leery on taking Balt -13 even though KC SUCKS harder than a $5 hooker.  I thinking...if  KC Scores 10 points (it can happen, it is the NFL, not OU v Idaho St) and Baltimore's D gets 7 points by themselves (let's not even talk about Joe Flacco)  Balt may mess around and score 25 points by themselves.
 
 
 
I'm thinking .....OVER.  but I'm only 75% sure.  I wouldn't pound it.

KC may cover....but I have to DISAGREE COMPLETELY about Baltimore's O.  I'm a die hard Dallas fan and I'm still ashamed of how Baltimore's Rbs broke RECORDS on Dallas's D when they played last year. r u serious?   Baltimore's SHUT DOWN D, and you're doubting their offense? really?  did you watch the special on the 2008 season for Pittsburg?  Big ben was on his back alot last year and their D was so potent they still won it all. and without a good running game.  the real bet is how many Ints that Ed Reed gets tod.  will it be 1 or 2. 
 
 
NEVER DOUBT A SHUT DOWN D.....01 Ravens, 2002 Tamba Bay Bucs,  2007 NY Giants ( did anyone predict NY, even when the playoffs started?), and last years Steelers.

the thing that scares me most is that 95% of us on this board are on the Ravens... Cassel is a gametime decision, and even if he plays is definitely not at near 100%...
