Overated without a doubt in a year where dogs are rising n' none team dominates  except for Packers.

MIA +7.5 (2.5u) - bettin that the Jets will duplicate their play from last year when they got demolished by the Patriots and lost SU as favorites vs. the Fins.  This year they face the Fins again after an emotional defeat by the Pats a week earlier.  The other stat i like is winless teams (0-4 or worse) are a 22-3 ATS coming off a bye. I'll take the points.  Dolphins


As fun as those 22-3 stats seem to be, they have zero relevance to these two football teams, this year.  Here's a stat for you using the same info that pertains to this year.  0-1.  Rams are terrible.  Fins are terrible.  Not saying the Fins won't cover, just saying that those kind of stats are completely useless.  Why not go back to the 70's and see how the Fins/Jets game came out and use those stats.  Makes no sense

Overall game perspective:

Defense: MNF, and at home... they're going to not just get to Moore or Rosenfels, they're going to get a defensive TD or two. Miami's D is pretty decent with Bill Parcells but won't be good enough against Mangold and O line. They should get 1 int vs. Mark Sanchez's arm.

On the ground: Each team has shaky quarterbacks which results in more touches on the ground. Both teams will like to establish the run game. There's a chance that Mark Sanchez will like to blow out the game by passing the ball, but this is like a 20% chance. I think they're going to try to pound the ball.

Offense: Goal line, I think mark sanchez will get a rushing TD as well as 2-3 passing TD's. 300-400 yrds in the air. With Mangold back, they're going to give him time. This O line recognized what happened last week, and they'll give him time this week. More motivation to be good: they're at home. Miami Dolphins will kick field goals because of the Jets Defense. I'll consider the Marshall factor, but against Revis Island, it may be tough. I'll give him 1 TD for his size and strength. Special teams may impact how much the dolphins score with Bess back there.

Jets 27-10, or 27-13

It is so hard to hold on to hope as a Jets fan. For my 34 years as a Jets fan they have found a way to pry hope out of my disappointed hands year after year. Unfortunately bro I was 2 at the time but maybe I was already a fan and didn't know it.

I was lucky enough to be a fan since Griese, Csonka days... Marino days were tough as we were all offense and no defense...always thinking this is the season and never went.

I would love to see the Dolphins win one while my former Warriors are still on the team but that would probably take a miracle

Jax won opening day with luke mcclown. Matt moore is a nobody who should get crushed by a good jets defense right.     To be honest I don't even want to watch this game as I have already been disappointed 4 times already this season. I normally take a vaction day to watch a Dolphin MNF game esp a rival game...this season I decided work will be more exciting and less disappointing

    This is a hard game to handicap but  I will compare Henni to a Matt Moore the Miami Dolphins  are 0-4 Jets 2-3 the Jets need this win bad similar to what the Eagles needed on Sunday. Well lets look at some numbers when Matt Moore played for Carolina San Fran W 23-20 Chicago L 16-23 at New Orleans L 14-16  Cinn L17-20 Tampa Bay L 7-20 Giants L 18-31 he was 1-6. Lets look at scores Miami on the road against good teams playoff teams between last year and this year the systems are still the same I believe nothing changes if they still have the same system it what it is I don’t have time to put all the scores up but they are 3-8 against playoff teams  on the road this includes last year also 4x out of 8 they got beat by 6 points or more the over hit 4x out of 8 so you have a slightly then a 50% it will go over and 50% chance they will win by 6 points the average out to 23-14 Jets win. Overall against play off teams keep in mind this also includes last year they are 2-10 meaning Miami 5x they got beat by 5 points or more 6x in went over the total that Vegas has the line set at the scores averages out to 26-15 Jets win. Against similar teams to a Jets teams that Miami has played they were 3-8 6x they lost by 6 points or more 3 x it went over when you average these scores I get 23 to 14 Jets win.

    Lets look at scores Jets at home  against good teams playoff teams between last year and this year the systems are still the same I believe nothing changes if they still have the same system it what it is I don’t have time to put all the scores up but they are 5-9 against playoff teams  at home this includes last year  keep in mind I know that Miami is not a playoff team but if the Jets play well against playoff teams why shouldn’t they against a team like Miami anyway let  get back to the number also 3x the Jets won by 6 points or more  which gives them about a 30% chance they will cover the spread but this is against playoff teams keep in mind 7x the games went over the total that Vegas has the number set at the score averages out to 22 to 22. Overall against playoff teams the Jets are 5-9 4x they won by 6 points or more that is a slightly less then  a %50 percent chance of covering the spread 6x out of 9 games the score when over the total that Vegas has it at so you have a more then 50% chance of the game going over these scores average out to 23 to 17 Jets lose but this is against playoff teams. Against similar teams to a Miami  team the Jets have played they won 5 ot of 7 games  6 of those 7 they won by 6 points or more 4x out of 7 the game went over the score averages out 28 to 14 when you average all it comes out 24 to 14 but I will give the Jets 3 more points for playing at home and add 3 point to Miami my prediction score is Jets 28 to 17 Jets win by 11 points.

    This game is bad.  Jets have such horrible offense the past couple weeks.  Maybe it's because they are on the road.  So I guess that can be there excuse.
    Miami is just horrible on offense.  They are now without Henne which makes it worse?  Who knows, I know very little about moore.
    If I had to choose I would go with the Jets but I like UNDER a little more.  Both team offense is sluggish and bad.  They will both rely on the run game.  I see a 10-3 or even a 13-7 first half and probably the same second half.
    I just don't see how Miami can score 1 TD with moore or even run past the jets defense with their current RB, Bush and Hilliard.  Thomas will be 50-50 and he was decent.
    I don't see the jets putting up huge numbers but I do see Greene and holmes/buress getting into the endzone versus miami's D.  It will be a boring.

    Game will end Jets 23 Miami 6 (maybe 13 with a late garbage time TD)

    I am going out on a limb saying Jets will show up and make a stand on this game.  Forget the trends.  This is a back up qb on MNF with his first start of the year (technically).  Like the bears, this is a must win to even have a small chance to get into the play offs.  If they lose this, they are have no hope for the year other than pride.  As for Miami, I think they are looking to the 2012 draft.

    Yo croyal1964 I heard that a few days ago. The Packers chewed that trend up and spit it out against the Rams on Sunday. The Jets are no Pack (although Rex says they would have beaten GB in Superbowl XLV despite losing to them earlier in the season), but they need to do what they can to salvage any hope of sticking with New England and Buffalo. I'ma buy a few NYJ -6.5 GLTA

    I want to say Jets-7 because they're the better team, are at home with something to prove and should be the favorite but damn these two teams have a LONG history of playing close games...and as near as I can handicap the spread should be about -4 not a TD but how the hell can you bet on the phins???
