I just cannot put my money on a team as bad as Oakland. Sure the Jets have sucked lately but the Raiders are horrible. QB play is huge and I feel comfortable with a 2nd year starter that seems to be really trying to lead his team. Derek Carr may turn out to be an Andrew Luck and flow with the offense immediately but I am laying the chalk... GLTA

rookie QB's on the road are 3-5 SU and ATS since 2008. yup Stafford, Newton, Luck, Tannehill and Russell Wilson all lost on opening week and they are still respective starting QB's for their team, will Derek Carr be the Raider's future QB more than 1 season? Only time will tell. If the Raiders were playing at home I'd take the +5.5 as rookie QB's fare much better with 3-3 SU and 5-1 ATS record.
Its possible the Raiders can make this game close and maybe outright win it but I expect the Jets defense led by Sheldon Richardson and Calvin Pace to put pressure on Carr forcing him to make turnovers. The Jets offense, on paper is a little bit better than last season with Chris Johnson and Decker
If MJD can't run on this defense it's going to be a rough day for the rookie. then again RGIII, Dalton and friggin Mark Sanchez won their 1st game on the road so anything is possible
