I'm a gluton for punishment. Reasons for taking the hapless Brownies are, When the Eagles are road favs vs an afc team I usually bet against them. I also bet against them when they are giving more than 7. Reid is a hot seat coach so betting against him here is very risky. Stupid is as stupid does.

DeSean Jackson says he's ready to play now, but I don't think his counterpart "The Dogbeater" is. I mean, how many more shots in how many more games where he's slow to get up, clearly wincing in pain, clutching his ribs, and limping off the field can this guy take!?!?!?
Vick hasn't learned to be a pocket passer, and get rid of the ball quickly, and he never will - like the saying goes - - you can't teach an old dog new tricks - and yes, pun is definitely intended!
I'm only taking the Brownies, because it's their season home opener, so all of the expectations are there and the crowd will be into it - plus, I'm counting on Vick to take some hard hits early, and throw him off his game.
O.K. Cleveland, your mission - don't lose by more than 8.5 - - - let's do this!!!!!!!!!!!!

Trends favor Cleveland. Also anytime you get 7.5 or more as home dog-take the dog. Since 2006 , this angle has covered over 65%. Of course, don't take my words- check all the homedogs from LY, and then tell me what you come up with. I don't expect a win, but a cover in front of the howling dogpound is possible.

I stated this out and I have the game at even steven. So, I am in full agreement with Vue but like Vue will not be betting my hard earned cash on the Browns. I just cant bring myself to do it although the numbers are screaming Browns here.

PHI @ CLE +9 OU 43 They just played a week ago in preseason in CLE and PHI didn't play Vick. PHI won by 17 pts.
I love Vue21849's post. Finally some info with stats. I ran the +7.5 home dog stat and it's true it covers around 65% of the time.
If you could get 65% wins then your cash on cash return is 25% even with the 10% extra for the 35% losers.
Vue, any more nuggets of wisdom?
I have been experimenting with revenge matchups where the team wanting the revenge shows a 3 year track record of 60 % & higher,in such situations: Off of this so-called systems plays this week the plays are: Miami,Oakland,Pittsburgh,San Francisco, & Seattle. While I did cash on the 'Boys, it wasn't due to revenge. The Cowboys are a horrendous 1 - 9- 0 in such situations.

I'm not sure how I can even bet for the browns. But I know that Trent Richardson didn't play. If the eagles shut down the passing game of the browns, forget it. Richardson will not be able to run. Who are the receivers for the browns? Nevermind. I lean eagles -9 or 9.5. Easy cover with McCoy and Vick running all over this browns D. Vick is going to Pound the dawgpound. BOL

Will we be 'holding our nose' while making our play? You can BET on it (pun intended). But I certainly can't ignore the tremendous HIGH PERCENTAGE of large home dogs that have hot as of late in the NFL. NFL home underdogs of +8 or more points (BROWNS) have gone an amazing 20-2 ATS (91%) in the last three seasons. And if our doggie is getting +8.5 or more, they've gone a PERFECT 8-0 ATS! Cleveland has been in this situation TWICE in the last three years, and has gone (naturally) a perfect 2-0 ATS.
