History says 2 of the 4 games this weekend will be blowouts.  With that said I like this to be a close game and could go either way.  I don't tease but this may be the one to tease +11.  Philly is hot, Baltimore is hot and Charges are hot.  Playoffs come down to who is playing the best right now.  Records don't matter...i.e Cards and Charges!!
 
The pick in this game is under.  It will be similiar to the last meeting.  I think these 2 teams try to run the ball and play field position. Maybe small play on Philly but superbowl champs at home is worrysome.  However Philly is the hot team.
 
 l look for a great game will wager to make more interesting since my sorry A$$ cowboys don't have the guts to show up in big games.

I like the points with Philly. Here in Vegas, when I talk to other gamlbers we usually give the home 3 points, so to me this looks like a -1 for the Giants. Weather is 28 with light winds. Playoffs. Game kicks off in two hours. I am leaning toward the Eagles and the pts and have not decided about the total. Total opened at 40 now down to 38.5  Also a ML on the Eagles. And I meant to say, "no business being on it,", so don't tell me how I can't write just to spread more anger, Lock whatever.

I'm thinking Giants -4 today. A week rest will help. And I don't see NYG folding like Minnesota if Westbrooke breaks a run. Giants have playoff experience that Minny didn't. Maybe an under game due to the weather, especially the wind.
 
So far a great weekend of foote' ball.

Since Burress shot himself the GMEN are 1-3 and under in all three loses.  The only over game was Carolina but they went into that game thinking that had to score to win.  Against the Eagles they will be play more conservative and try to pound Jacobs but Philly run D is strong...they played well against Peterson last week.  The more I look at this the more I am leaning towards Philly. Maybe the Burress shooting was more damaging to this team then anyone has talked about. Eli doesn't have that go to receiver.  How many times had he just thrown it up for grabs and Burress big body is there for the catch.

Philly has a lot of momentum and could put up 24-28 on their own. That would mean Giants only need to TD's for the OVER.

anyone know who the referree is for this game today? Looking at past games they have been low scoring with the exception of the meeting in November between these two teams that resulted in over 60 points.
 
The ref in that game was Terry McAulay....I know there is one crew in particular that they say calls a lot of penalties (announcers said this one day during an NFL game) but I can't remember who it is.

Since the McNabb benching, the Eagles are a different team.  Their offense is playing loose and look like the Eagles of old (when they were in the SuperBowl)...

Giants are stumbling at the end of the season.  the playoffs are about momentum.  the Giants had that edge last year and this year they dont.  I see this as very similar to Tennessee.  They peaked too early and it showed.

I believe the total is set too low for this matchup.  the weather will not be a factor.  around 30 degrees at kickoff with a mild breeze.  both QB's are used to playing in the cold.  They should make some big plays and the running backs on both sides will move chains.

I see this as a close game, giving the edge to the hotter team PHILLY..  and a higher score than most think.

Prediction:  PHI 24 - NYG 20

Taking PHI +3 and Over 38.5

LOL!!  You should look at the win loss records of the two.  QBs main job is to win right?   Everyones always on eli cuz he dont put up the stats, but he finds ways to win.  Saying G-MEN got lucky in superbowl??  Maybe they got lucky but they put their selves in the position to get lucky.  While the cowboys redskins and EAGLES were at home watching.  Giants win 21-10

P.S Bill Leavy is the coach of the Steelers game. he was also the same referree for Super Bowl XL when PIT won.

FYI....a little statistics on Mike Carey prior to last years Super Bowl. While they are not current, they should still be accurate based on his officiating style.
 
Going to try and locate this year's statistics....
 
In the regular season, Mike was a good referee for visiting teams. Home teams only won 40% of their games with Mike's crew, which was second-worst of the 17 referee crews.

Mike was 6th (of 17) in total points scored per game (45.0), 4th in visitors' points (23.5) and 12th in home team points (21.5).

Mike was middle of the pack (9th) in penalties per game at 11.8. Ranked 10th in penalty yards per game (90 yards per game). Ranked near the bottom (14th) in average penalty yards per penalty at 7.6. Mike was tied for the highest in the percent of his games where the visiting team had more penalties called than the home team (70%). He is not the only referee where most games had more penalties called against the visiting team yet the visiting teams did well in his games. The same quality of usually more penalties called against the visiting teams yet the visiting teams nevertheless usually winning the games also applied to Ron Winter this year.

long story short: i'm from pa & am a die hard eagles fan, but i moved to nj last year & live about 15 minutes from giants stadium... so i know both teams like the back of my hand.

with that being said, i haven't heard much about plax being out (cuz its old news), but this is still key to this game. jacobs not being out was part of the giants losing the last game, but the real reason was plax being out. the eagles absolutely gave no respect to the giants pass game & played run defense the entire game.

the difference in this game: jacobs being back will help move the sticks, but there's still no real big play threat for the giants. expect long drives from the giants & with the eagles crummy red zone offense, expect fgs instead of tds.

 Take the Under.
as for the side, i expect the eagles to have the same defensive scheme as last time. can the giants play better against it? with a bye week to prepare, i'd say yes, but i don't think they're 4 pts better.

if you have to pick a side, take the eagles.

Lordy, 80% of these posts are totrally useless.  If you are a Giants or Eagles fan, please go find a FAN'S board where you can talk about how great your team is and stroke each other.  Leave the wagering board to people who want to wager.

My take (and I'm not a fan of either team)...
