San Francisco is 11-2-1 against the spread in their last 14 games overall, 6-1 against the spread following a loss, and 17-6-3 against the spread in their last 26 home games. Pittsburgh is 4-1 against the spread against a team with a winning record, 2-5 against the spread in their last seven road games, and 3-8 against the spread following a win.

Steelers have even more to play for now with Baltimore completely blowing a great opportunity to win the division. Now Pittsburgh has the division in their hands and in their own destiny. With the success of this team this is a opportunity they won't back down from and will take full advantage of it. We all know big Ben will strap on the cleats and will be out their for his team tonight. There's no way he doesnt play tonite. This will be a tough game thoug in a rowdy environment but this is steelers football and they always show up when you need them too the most. I don't see Alex smith doing too much tonite against the steeler D. Frank Gore has to run the ball for S.F. To have a shot and we all know nobody runs on Pitts D.  Pittsburgh wins 20-9

I hope Big Ben plays.  It will just hurt his team as he get hammered all night.

I think this game is going to be very similar to the SF/Balt game on Thanksgiving.  Two defenses that will be missing key players, but still very good nonetheless.  Neither team has run the ball well lately, and that should continue tonight.  If Big Ben plays, he will be pretty gimpy...and that is still a big IF right now.  HIs ankle will limit his mobility and he will not have the escapeability that he normally does. I expect short passes that get the ball out of his hand quickly to limit the hits on him.  Don't underestimate the fact that Pounceky will be out, too...the line wasn't the greatest to begin with, and he was arguably their best lineman.

I would think that PItt will blitz the hell out of Smith untll he finally proves that he can beat it.  He is a good game manager when the running game is working, but he can't carry this offense if the opposition shuts the run down.  He holds the ball too long and can't progress through his reads fast enough when blitzed, and Pitt will throw some exotic blitzes at him. 

The only way I see this game going over is if there is at least one defensive TD from someone...and I don't think that will even be enough.

Under for me, especially if it stays at 38 or above...

im just sitting here visualizing all the people anxiously biding their time to get the confirmation that big ben will start and then quickly figure out how much they will bet (LOSE).  san francisco in an absolute ass whipping tonight.

during the pregame, they will show big ben soft tossing and people will get a false sense of confidence and even hammer the steelers getting plus money , i mean after all alex smith sucks ... right???   oh if only handicapping was that easy.

9ers have only seen 30 or more pts twice @TB and SEA do u really think they are going to put 31 on the steelers?  Come on dude!

Well, I put a foot in my mouth last Monday night when I claimed the under was the best play, only proven there is 2 half in a football game and where the heck 30 points in the 2nd half came from?. What did they do in the locker at half time?.

Advantage SD have OV Baltimore is home team and the EAST coast to WEST coast travel. I do see the same here but I will stay off this game until 2nd half. SF does have a healthy team and a better ATS, these two team are exactly the same in everything.

UPSET Sunday mean everyone is broke or down. I know I'm.

49ers in a very weak division (Seahawks, Rams, Cardinals) and don't have a win against playoff caliber team. They lost to Cowboys and Ravens.  Other than the Patriots, Steelers' wins have also been against mediocre teams. The teams that meet tonight are a shadow of the dynasties of yesteryear.  Nevertheless, I think the Steelers have a little more mojo and a little more motivation. It should be an ugly brawl, with a lot of running and punting, and points at a premium. I'll do a two-teamer (my favorite for Monday nights) with Steelers +9 and Under 42.5.
