CHEERS TO SD.....

WITH TWO SHITTY ASS TEAMS LIKE THIS PLAYING ON MONDAY NIGHT, WHY NOT TAKE THE HOME TEAM PLUS THE POINTS?  THIS REALLY IS A SHITTY GAME THAT SHOULDNT BE TOUCHED, BUT IF YOU HAVE TO YOU MIGHT AS WELL JUST TAKE THE HOME TEAM WITHOUT THINKING TO MUCH ABOUT IT.  IF GORE RUSHES THE BALL 35 TIMES THIS GAME MAYBE SAN FRAN WILL WIN?

I see a 23-21, 24-20, 24-21 type game.  Wouldn't be surprised to see a defensive touchdown or a special teams touchdown. 

The Cards play better at home. Plus, the Cards will be sporting their new black jerseys. Crowd and team will be pumped up. This may come down to a play by the Special Teams or the Defense. I will take the points.

The Arizona Caridnals and the San Francisco 49ers meet for ESPN's Monday Night Football with the winner being just a game back in the NFC West. A must win for both!

It's been a rough season in Arizona as they had grown accustomed to winning and this team just a few years ago was playing in the Super Bowl. With the retirement of Kurt Warner and Matt Leinhart not panning out, the Cardinals offense just hasn't been the same and with losses to free agency on defense, it's been a tough season on both sides of the ball. Arizona has tried a few options under center this year but as of last week it was Derek Anderson who has shown to be the most effective. For the season Anderson has completed 53.7 percent of his passes for 1,776 yards with seven touchdowns and eight interceptions. Beanie Wells and TIm Hightower are sharing time int he backfield with neither of them setting the world on fire. Hightower has 438 yards and three touchdowns and Wells has 270 yards and two scores averaging just 3.5 yards per carry. Larry Fitzgerald is still one of the best in the game but with the departure of Anquan Boldin, it just meant he gets even more attention though he has caught 55 passes for 691 yards and five touchdowns and Steve Breaston has caught 34 passes for 548 yards. With the departures of Karlos Dansby and Antrelle Rolle, the defense has suffered noticeably but Paris Lenon leads the team with 74 tackles followed by Greg Toler with 64. Joey Porter leads Arizona with five sacks, a quarter of the 20 they have as a team and Kerry Rhodes, Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, Paris Lenon, and Adrian Wilson all have two interceptions as the Cardinals have 10 overall. Arizona is averaging 18.8 points and 275.7 yards per game while the defense is allowing 29.2 points and 396.8 yards per game.

Many had San Francisco pegged to be in first place in the NFC West and with five games remaining after this one, with a win here they would still amazingly be very much in the mix. Alex Smith was injured at QB and didn't play last week and he remains questionable in this one. Troy Smith started last week for the Niners who were shut out at home by Tampa Bay. Frank Gore carries almost exclusively for San Francisco as he has 801 yards on 198 carries with the second most carries on the team by a non QB being Anthony Dixon with 10. Gore also leads the 49ers in receptions with 46 for 452 yards while Vernon Davis has 38 catches for 516 yards and four touchdowns and Michael Crabtree has 36 catches for 461 yards and four scores. The San Francisco defense is good but they have been on the field an awful lot due to the ineptness of the offense. Patrick Willis is one of the best int he NFL with 91 tackles and four sacks and Takeo Spikes has 62 tackles. Justin Smith has five sacks and Parys Haralson has four to lead the way and Shawntae Spencer has three interceptions and Nate Clements has two as the 49ers have just eight as a team. For the season San Francisco is averaging just 16 points and 313.7 yards per game on offense while the defense is allowing 21.9 points and 328.2 yards per game.

Arizona is 4-0 against the spread in their last four games as an underdog of up to three points, 1-4 against the spread in their last five games overall, and 2-5 against the spread in their last seven games as an underdog. San Francisco is 17-5 against the spread in their last 22 Monday Night games, 2-5-1 against the spread in their last eight road games, and 1-7 against the spread in their last eight games as a favorite. San Francisco has covered in four of the last five meetings, the road team has covered in eight of the last nine, but the underdog has covered in seven of the last eight.

While the winner is somehow still very much alive, the loser is most certainly done and the West is so wild that it can be playoffs or top ten draft choice hinging on a game or two. While most of the interest int his game will be coming from the broadcast booth as rumors are swirling that John Gruden will be leaving ESPN to become the next Head Coach at the University of Miami replacing the fired Randy Shannon, Gruden most likely, barring a prior announcement, will be side stepping the issue and trying to add some excitement into what should be an awful game. This one looks like it's going to be played quickly though as San Francisco will try and attack the soft Arizona defense with Gore and controlling the ball while Arizona will try to go up top to Fitzgerald but at barely over 50 percent completions, that's likely not going to work too often. What I see is a quick game with few points and for that reason the play here is the under which is set at 40.5

I think this thread is a lot more interesting than the game will be. Sorry I mean no disrespect to the fans of the 49ers or the Cardinals.

I love this kind of game....I can spend more time with the family and not be at all interested in trying to catch the game. Not because I think it's going to be a boring game just don't know what to expect from both teams. I think I'll put up the Christmas tree tonight and change all the bulbs on my Christmas lights instead....all 1,000 of them 

BTW - My brothers and sisters in here it's the holidays can we just keep the peace on the threads. There are much bigger problems in this world...why spend so much time and effort on hating on each other in here. If all of us put that much time and effort on helping to solve the bigger problems in the world instead of hating there will be less problems in this world...just my thoughts.
