I'm telling you, this team is different with Singletary at the top. I was the first person to say the Jets would cover last week, but this team really believes. I'm not gonna guarantee a win in Miami, but the Niners will come to play. And Gore will be playing - it means too much to him to play in Miami.
Right now I'm leaning 49ers +7. I will probably wait a few days for injury reports. GL

I guess you both missed the Buffalo game...

Tough spot for my Dolphins although it seems that the Fins "should" dominate this game it may not be as easy as it looks. They have blown games and kept games close against "supposedly" weaker teams.
If the Dolphins stay hungry and focused they should be able to pull out a win against the 49ers but if they decide to look ahead then it will surely cost them.
One positive that may be in the Dolphins favor is that IMHO our offensive line should win the battle against the 49ers d-line. The 49ers d-line do apply a lot of pressure to the opponents qb but seldom get the sack. Pennington is a good game manager and should be able to find ways to get to the open receivers against this 49er defense but then again I could be way off on this one.
The 49ers proved to the Bills that they can travel west to east in a cold environment to beat them.
Stay focused and hungry Dolphins!!!!
GO DOLPHINS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

MIA has played 3 home games against west coast teams this year and won them all, and all 3 went under. 2 were very low scoring. Willis is a beast for the 49ers and will help slow the Miami rushing attack. The SF offense will be weak with a limping Gore and a passing attack being harassed by Porter and crew.
I am playing the UNDER 41.5. MIA will win but I'm not picking the spread.

Being a huge Niners fan I can honestly say that they should have lost that Buffalo game by 10 or more. The Bills had 4 drives that were 10+ plays and 70+yrds but came away with 0! I was not only shocked but pissed b/c i bet against them and they shoved it back in my face. I also took Miami against Buffalo last week b/c of that game and I was right JP Loserman should give back his he's not worthy of being a professional athlete. I see that you've been careful when picking your team Big D but as a Niners fan I am here to say Dolphins will win and cover.
P.S. Patrick Willis's hit on Brad Smith was wicked & Gore is nursing a lingering groin injury FYI

Hi, new to the site just looking over what everyone thinks....
My two cents: Miami plays as good as their opponents... they step up when they play better teams such as new england etc..... but they do enough to win against teams that are not as good such as that Oakland game where they won by 2 pts a couple of weeks back....
San Fran's been playing decent lately beating on a crappy Buffalo team and surprisingly beating the Jets..... so I'm taking SF +7 here
Miami would probably take this by 4 pts or so

On paper it seems as though the Dolphins should win and cover but I'm always when the play a team with nothing to lose.
Both teams are on the rise and it seems too obvious to take Miami esp when they have not allowed a touchdown in 2 games and also playing their final regular season home game if they don't make it to the playoffs.
I just gotta be a fan for this match up and pray we make it to the playoffs this year but if we don't I will still be proud of how far along we came this season following a 1-15 season.
Good luck

Dolphins back home after a SU dog win, giving points to a team that they are 0-3 ATS last 3 times they played them at home has me thinking NINERS. Miami wins another nail biter
Miami - 24 San Francisco - 23
Niners +6.5 over 41.5

Nice to hear Big D and I am the same way with my Trailblazers but I feel Niners will have a bad showing on offense this week. Sometimes the paper doesn't lie. Worst case I will be parlaying them with something else at least Moneyline.

I agree that Miami wins but doesn't cover. I really wish we knew more about Gore's status. It's the first week of the playoffs and my fantasy team needs him

Not sure on his status either but from what I am hearing he is trying his best to be ready to play again in Miami.

Long time-not talk. Our teams are heads up this week huh? If you'd asked me 4 weeks ago, I'd have said it was going to be a slaughter but now it seems the team is buying what Iron Mike is selling. They're playing with a bit of a chip on their shoulder and I LOVE IT! We've both seen some pretty bad showings from our teams in the past few years. Glad to see the fish are turning around for you and my boys are playing like they give a damn.
With Gore most likely out I don't like our chances on this road trip so I'm going to have to give the nod to your boys this time.
Keep an eye on this squad next year with the time for Singletary to make it truly HIS TEAM. They will be a contender again.
BTW- I flew back to Pitt last week for the Dallas game and met up with Grego2525. That person left with 12 minutes left in the 4th quarter so he'd "miss the traffic".

YES...The rb of the 9ers is looking injured and missed practice....he will not be as effective......I am taking the fins......three reasons.....1) SF has been playing better but they are still a crappy team and shouldnt have won the past two...2) West coast to east early start 3) Dolphins are in a race and don't want to blow it when they are so close.....I am cautious of the Pats game this week with that high of a consensus....I am betting 5 on the under praying that moss doesnt make a mess of that raiders (im going to see it sunday in oakland) ...gl party people hope you all win!!

Aloha my brother
Don't count your 49ers out of this one my friend. Willis is a beast and might probably shut down both Ronnie & Ricky in this match up.
One strong point just got added in the Dolphins favor to this match up is that your boy Vernon Davis was talking smack about Porter. I felt that was a mistake as Porter loves to feed off of that kind of stuff to get a lot more fired up.
A few things that worries me about this one...
1) The Dolphins are on record pace to break the record in having the least amount of turnovers in a season. A lot of commentators & writers are talking about that right now and you know how that goes.....jinx!!!
2) They are also commenting a lot on how the Dolphins defense have not allowed a TD in 2 straight games.....jinx!!
3) Porter is on record pace to tie a Dolphins single season sack record and to break the NFL single season sack record.....jinx!!!
It's just like how the commentators are always talking about how the kicker has never missed a field goal before he kicks the winning field goal then....BAM!!!!! He misses
The Dolphins need to focus on this one to win and forget about the individual rewards if they do that along with smart football they should pull out the W.
Good luck on your 49ers bro but you know I gotta cheer for my Fins
Aloha &

To handicap this game in my opinion, you really have to evaluate the entire situation. Everyone seems to be on the 49ers for this game, I heard numerous posts on here about them, I've heard some people nationally picking them to cover this spread, but I just don't see it.
Everyone saids, "Well since Mike Singletary took over, the 49ers have been playing well." And while I don't disagree with this comment, has anyone seen how the Dolphins are playing? They've won 6 of their last 7 albeit some very close matchups. They are tied for the division lead, are at home, and coming home after winning back to back road wins. Furthermore, the 49ers went from east coast @Buffalo, came back all the way home to play the Jets and now are going all the way across the country again to play these Dolphins. That is an absolute brutal traveling schedule, not to mention that this game is a 1PM game (10AM Western Coast). Furthermore, the 49ers are without Frank Gore, their leading rusher and arguably, their best player (between him and Willis).
So I got one team who's desperate to win, are at home, the other team's best player is out, and the other team has had to travel back from coast to coast the last 3 weeks.
Miami will control this game early via short passing by Pennington and the running of Williams/Brown and I believe the D will cause a couple of TOs from an average QB in Shaun Hill and a knack for fumbles in DeShaun Foster.
MIAMI - 6.5

just to add-- there was alot of emphasis put on that win last week by the 49ers... I'm from Nor Cal and all the papers read was that this last win gave Singletary an automatic pass for next year... so you know the players might have a slight "laid back" attitude come game time knowing they saved their coaches job already... and add that Gore is out... the 49ers will be ready to fly home at the half!! this also marks the first long road trip... after this they will play in St. Louis... a more winnable game IMO-

No Gore. As Backroads 23 said this the 3rd week in a row they've gone back and forth from coast to coast. Dolphins need the game more. Like what Pennington is doing. Very efficient. Joey Porter will have the Defense ready to go. And NO GORE. They can't replace him on offense. He does too much. Dolphins
